Beatrice Ashe has a quiet life as an assistant at the Woodbine Agency, a small detective firm in the east end of Toronto. But things change for her quickly when she is brutally attacked and left near death. Now, her boss Grace Hawthorne has a choice to make: Let Bea die... or give her a second chance. A second chance that brings Bea into a new world of shadow. Woodbine is a show about monsters, mysteries, new beginnings, and new bodies. What would you do if you found yourself in a world you never knew existed? What would you do if you had another chance to get justice? How far would you go to find the truth? And are you willing to figure all these out on your lunch break, because there are cases coming in and the Mothman can only wait so long for answers... WOODBINE is a new podcast by the creators of the award-winning horror fiction podcast Parkdale Haunt. Listen to Parkdale Haunt seasons 1-3 below, and subscribe for new episodes of Woodbine. PARKDALE HAUNT: Ever since Judith’s lifelong best friend, Claire Sterback, inherited a house from a biological family she never knew, things have begun to change. Claire has begun to change. It isn’t just that the house is full of cryptic notebooks, ominous scribblings on the wall, and has a basement that is colder than it should be. It isn’t just that Claire abruptly up and left her live-in boyfriend and is now being stalked by a psychopathic realtor. Claire is… off. As she gets closer to a secret at the heart of the old house in the Toronto neighbourhood of Parkdale, she is also getting closer to losing herself. After Claire goes missing - with the help of co-worker-turned-friend-Owen - Judith vies to track her down, even if it means diving into a history that may have been better left untouched.

Things are shifting, the ground is soft underfoot. You can't trust where you're stepping, and collapse is imminent. But what does it mean to collapse? To fall, to crumple to the ground? To relax against someone, exhausted and needing that weight against you as comfort? To lose something intangible, something you didn't know was so integral to your very ability to stand on your own? To pull away the thing holding an entire place up, just to watch it crumble? Bea, Grace, Hollis, and Lennox are now faced with what it means to collapse. What waits for them on the other side? Everything is getting too close, everything is starting to strain, and Grace is now returning to the world she thought she had escaped from. Bea is experiencing some real flighty coworkers. And Rhys? The only way to keep a secret is to tell no one. The second you tell another person, it's out and it has a life of its own. Grace's secret is carried in Bea, but the shadow it casts is spreading. Lennox knows this and he'll use it to his advantage, she knows that. But he's not the only one who knows, and the shadow grows longer and longer and touches more and more. Oh, and just a reminder that the AGM is coming up, so hope to see you there! You will have to be there. You wouldn't want people talking now, would you? "Walk a mile in someone else's shoes and you'll understand them better," that's an approximation of the saying, right? Well, what about their socks? And their pants? And their shirt? And their skin? The feeling of their muscles and bones moving in concert, a feeling you understand but is still completely and utterly foreign to you, because they are not yours. What then? Bea and Lennox experience a bit of a shift in their perceptions of the other person, but not in a way you'd expect. And now it's Grace and Rhys's problem. Or, wait, which one are you again? ... When you look in the mirror, do you like what you see? Do you know who's looking back? A client comes looking for help with a presence in their life that's causing problem after problem. Another client is looking for closure on a chapter of their life that they want to be done. But closure isn't easy, or wanted, or guaranteed. It's a new day (night, really) and Bea, Grace, and Rhys have a whole new world to face. Bea's coming to terms with an ability she didn't expect or want. Grace has to deal with the full-throated return of the one person she's been trying to keep as far away as possible. Rhys... actually, I'm not sure what Rhys is doing. I'm sure it's fun though. And somewhere, Lennox is waiting. He's waited for so long. What's a few days, weeks, months more when you know that you can finally, finally get what you want? WOODBINE S2 - EMIEL HOLDINGS NEW EMPLOYEE VIDEO
Hello, and welcome. Here at Emiel, we like to think of ourselves as a community. A family, even. One not tied through blood - although that is a part of it, in a sense - but through a shared commitment. You help each other. You support each other. You stand by each other. That is how things work here. At the very least, it is the environment we hope to foster. Through hard work, the tireless efforts of our board of directors, and the dedication of our staff, we have grown from a small office in what is now Deer Park to a multi-faceted conglomerate with an ever-widening and diversifying portfolio. If you are lucky, you can become a part of it. Come, there is much to learn. Season 2 of Woodbine arrives September 24th, 2025. PROMO: StanLand E1 - "The Scion, the Glitch, and the IKEA Wardrobe"
Hello listeners, it's Alex. I've got one more thing for you to check out before spooky season. If you're looking for Woodbine, don't worry, we'll be back soon with Season 2 in the fall, but for now, if you're looking for something to listen to, you might want to check out StanLand, a new show on the Sonar network. When cynical podcaster Melanie Hughes vanishes without a trace, the only clue is her abandoned recorder, discovered by the side of a road, containing a story that begins with a dusty IKEA wardrobe… and ends in a magical realm slowly being swallowed up by fast food chains, retail shopping, and vape stores. Enter Zyngia: once a land of wonder, ruled by a talking lion, now a cautionary tale of what happens when fantasy meets modern consumerism. At the center of it all? Stan Little. Unemployed. Unremarkable. Possibly the last person you’d want on a magical quest. And yet… here we are. StanLand is a five-part satirical fantasy series written by Mike Sacks and S.G. Wilson, featuring Bobby Moynihan, Rhea Seehorn, Jon Hamm, John Waters and more. So here's episode one. You can find the rest on their feed wherever you get your podcasts. As for us, we'll be back in the fall with more Woodbine, so keep your ears out. We'll see you soon.   Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

What flashes before your eyes as you die? Memories, thoughts big and small that nested somewhere in your brain, echoes you ignored. But in those final flashes, the silliest things can be brought to the forefront: Unimportant conversations, odd moments, even cases you never put that much importance in. Now, that last one only really applies if you work in a detective agency, to be fair. Sometimes small things make an outsized impression. But memories are malleable, fallible, easily made and easily broken. When you're running through them, how much of them can you trust? They twist and turn and bend and break with only the slightest amount of pressure. Do you understand? Rhys? Can you hear me? Rhys? Please wake up, please. You can only run for so long. At some point, you have to face your problems head on. Usually, you'd do this in therapy, but Grace is tired of platitudes and obfuscations and questions. She wants answers and there's only one person who can give them to her. But that means no more running, no more avoiding, no more looking away. You have to face your problems head on, no matter what happens, no matter what they bring. You have to stop running at some point. No matter what, the past will find you and it is not kind.
