Gratitude on Ask Mom with Sue Donnellan
Practical Ways to Teach Kids Genuine Gratitude Every Day

Most parents try to teach gratitude by reminding kids to “say thank you.” But real gratitude isn’t a script. It’s a feeling. And the reason many kids don’t show it has nothing to do with entitlement and everything to do with emotional overwhelm, development, and the ability to receive.

In this episode, we’ll uncover why forced “thank yous” backfire, why the holidays make gratitude harder (not easier), and how kids often look ungrateful simply because they don’t yet know how to receive attention or generosity. You’ll learn what genuine appreciation looks like at different ages, how to help kids access it even in overstimulating moments, and the simple daily mantra that turns frustration to appreciation instantly.
If you want kids who feel thankful, not just perform it, this conversation will change the way you think about gratitude.
Listen For:
  • the surprising reason some kids shrink during gift-giving
  • how to rescue gratitude from holiday chaos
  • small, everyday ways to grow appreciation without reminders or pressure
  • the 2-minute practice that rewires your home

AI - The New Teen Crisis on Ask Mom with Sue Donnellan
🎧Artificial Intimacy
The New Teen Relationship Crisis: Protecting Teens in the Age of AI Companions

What happens when your teen’s closest confidant isn’t a person, but a program?
In this eye-opening episode of The Ask Mom Parenting Podcast, Sue pulls back the curtain on a growing digital dilemma: teens forming emotional or even romantic relationships with AI chatbots. One in five teens are already turning to apps like Character.ai and Replika for comfort, validation, and “connection.” Most parents have no idea it’s happening. But behind the friendly avatars and endless empathy lies a silent crisis: dependency, isolation, and emotional confusion that can reshape how an entire generation defines love and belonging.

Sue and Randee break down:
• Why AI “companions” feel safer than real people and what that reveals about today’s teen mindset.
• How these algorithms are engineered to bond emotionally and keep kids hooked.
• The hidden fallout: deepfakes, digital harassment, privacy risks, and social withdrawal.
• Simple conversation openers that disarm defensiveness and build trust.
• How to teach discernment: the ability to tell real from artificial connection.
• Ways to rebuild genuine human relationships so your teen’s world doesn’t shrink to a screen.

This isn’t a future problem, it’s a right now one. By the end, you’ll know how to spot emotional dependency on AI, create boundaries that stick, and guide your teen back toward what’s real.
Listen if you want to:
·   Understand why teens are emotionally outsourcing to AI.
·   Learn how to protect your child without panic or control.
 ·  Get clear, doable steps to bring connection back home, before the bots do it first.

Turning Attention Into Action on Building Your Empire with SophieZo
From Interest to Investment: Turning Attention into Action
Your marketing is getting attention. Posts are getting engagement. Prospects are filling out forms. Your calendar has consultations scheduled. But your revenue isn't moving. In this episode, digital marketing strategist Sophie Zollmann exposes why successful practices confuse marketing activity with actual results. Being busy on social media doesn't pay bills.

Website traffic doesn't cover payroll. The only thing that matters is whether prospects become paying clients, and most practices have no system for making that happen. Sophie reveals how premium clients move from interest to signed contracts through repeatable conversion systems, not luck or charisma. She explores the intake workflows, follow-up messaging, and decision mechanics that systematically guide high-value clients toward investment.

The episode covers why random campaigns and scattered marketing activity undermine conversion, how premium clients evaluate every interaction before signing, and why conversion doesn't stop at the signed agreement. The practices winning bigger contracts aren't getting lucky - they've stopped treating conversion like a mystery and started implementing proven systems.

A fractional marketing department builds complete conversion systems that translate marketing attention into actual revenue, from structured lead nurturing to relationship protocols that turn one-time clients into long-term advocates. This episode is essential for healthcare providers, attorneys, and financial advisors tired of generating interest without generating revenue.

Why Teens Lie on Ask Mom with Sue Donnellan
The Hidden Reasons Why Teens Lie & What Parents Can Actually Do About It
Why do teens lie…even if they have good parents, open conversations, and no reason to hide?

In this episode, Sue and Randee unpack one of the most misunderstood parenting challenges: lying. You’ll learn how most teen lies aren’t about rebellion, they’re about protection, privacy, and power. Sue shares her personal story of being a “frequent teen liar” and how that insight reshaped her parenting philosophy. Together, they explore why tightening control only increases deception, and how a calm, curious response can transform dishonesty into trust and growth.

You’ll discover:
  • The real purpose behind lying (and what it’s protecting)
  • How to stop taking lies personally and start reading them as communication
  • What it means to brand yourself “unshockable” …and why your reaction determines your child’s honesty
  • Simple neutral statements that build connection instead of confrontation
  • How “control invites lies” and why giving up control earns truth
It’s not about catching your teen in a lie, it’s about creating an environment where the truth feels safe to live.

🎧 Listen through the end for specific age-based examples and Sue’s powerful “We Language” strategy that rewires your child’s honesty through trust, not fear.

Word of Mom Radio
Kelly Tuttle on The Authors Alley with Dori DeCarlo
Kelly Tuttle joined the “head injury survivors club” (as she described it) in 2015, the night another car pulled in front of her as she was driving. It wasn’t until three months later that she realized something was seriously wrong. Kelly’s traumatic brain injury (TBI) marked the beginning of a new life and personal journey of self-rediscovery.

A neurology nurse practitioner, Kelly has a front-row seat to observe patients struggling with many of the same things she experienced in her recovery. She strives to share her coping strategies and tools and help them continue to work and study while they heal. Kelly also wants TBI patients to know there is hope. She got better, and they can too.

If you’ve survived a TBI and plan to continue working and studying despite daily emotional, physical, and cognitive challenges, After the Crash is a must-read. Get it today, and begin to understand your new brain and learn to love the new person you’re becoming.

Join host Dori DeCarlo on The Authors Alley and connect with Kelly at KellyTuttle.org. Be sure to follow on LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, BlueSky and YouTube and become part of Kelly’s tribe!
