Hey Weirdos!
I'm thrilled to welcome the face and wisdom behind 'With Love Shell', Shell Johnson, the De-influencer we all know and love on Instagram, as she disrupts the scroll with relatable doses of humbling and reassuring reality.
Shell is an advocate for authenticity online, risking her own vulnerability to help us all feel more normal. From real skin and lifestyle to real thoughts and feelings, she makes content to help us all feel less alone when we scroll through AI, filters & highlight reels online.
She is a mum who has recently quit her job, hoping to make enough of an income from social media to keep her daughter at home with her.
In this vulnerable and honest chat, Shell and I discuss the impact of filters and Ai, sharing personal anecdotes and our fears and worries for the future.
We also discuss De-influencing and Shell’s incredible mission to balance out the filtered fakery on the gram with real life reminders that we’re all textured humans with visible pores and overflowing laundry baskets!
We cover SO many topics in this meaty episode, such as:
This is a truly thought provoking episode and hopefully it’s going to make you think twice about using Chat GPT as your PA, and embracing a wholesome, human life.
We would love to hear your thoughts on this very topical topic!

Hey Weirdos! I'm super excited to share this month's amazing guest with you. A creator I admired from afar who has now joined me on the mic to chat all things travel, content creation and personal growth. Our Professional Weirdo is the adorable Jack Forrest-Rickard.
Jack is the driving force behind JFR.PRODUCTIONS, a brand that started with travel and lifestyle vlogs but has since grown into something much deeper. Through their YouTube channel, they capture adventures both at home and away, always with a message of positivity, but behind the scenes, their story is one of resilience. After surviving a hit-and-run accident that left them battling PTSD, Jack made it his mission to find happiness even in the toughest moments. His brand, STAY HAPPY, isn’t just a slogan, it’s a mindset, born from his own personal struggles that left him rebuilding from the ground up. From sharing travel experiences to launching his own STAY HAPPY merchandise, they’ve built a platform that encourages people to hold onto joy, no matter what life throws their way.
In this warm + engaging episode we discuss:

We are all about doing things different at Work it Weirdo and Creeper Crisis is definitely a Maverick in his field, staying firmly in his own lane and putting his message out there to the world.

Hey Weirdos! Kicking things off after a little break for the school holidays, we are back with the amazing Emelye Parker from Bean. Em is Queen of all things pink and owner of independent & quirky shop Bean and plant-based cocktail bar The Black Cat - both in Falmouth in Cornwall. She's a big fan of all things fun, colourful and gay, and she is an absolute poster girl for being authentic and running a business that is true to you, to the core.
I've wanted to get Emelye on the podcast for ages to talk about the insane negative 1* Google review her shop received, and how she turned it into the best publicity opportunity, including press, merch and a cult following that came to support and strengthen the brand and community she has so amazingly built. This is a true testament to the 'all publicity is good publicity' mantra, and shows that by those who are clearly NOT your customer speaking up, it brings forth tenfold those who are.
As well as this juicy tale turned success story, Em shares how she built the brand, supports and stocks artists and creatives that align with her values and how she uses her storefront as a political and social lighthouse to beam out her messages and beliefs and stand true to the causes and organisations that she believes in. We discuss how activism and personal beliefs can exist in your business, both online and IRL.
We also discuss how to un-beige your life and business, how to stay true to your niche and how neurodiversity plays a part in business planning.
There's also plenty of hun culture references, lots of pink and a large dollop of authenticity, sprinkled with more pink!
Thanks so much Emelye for being our fabulous Professional Weirdo!

Hey Weirdos!
It's time for another Professional Weirdo! Today, I have the absolute pleasure of introducing an extraordinary woman, Kate, an Eco-chic warrior, who turned a life-changing event into a powerful mission. Five years ago, Kate survived a subarachnoid brain haemorrhage, an experience that made her realise how precious life is and that tomorrow is never promised. This sparked her passion to create Flotsam Flo, inspired by her beloved late Granny Florence, where she upcycles broken wetsuits, lifejackets, inflatables, banners, and other hard-to-recycle materials into stunning, eco-friendly bags and accessories. Kate's incredible work has earned her a Judge's Commendation for Circular Economy at the Cornwall Sustainability Awards, and her commitment to sustainability extends beyond her creations—she also runs workshops to inspire others to think differently about waste.
In this episode, Kate talks about her journey, how tragedy and pain inspired her to grab life by the horns and be her true self, as well as chatting to us about how she gets waste, her process, incredible companies she's partnering with, what she's up to and how she's flying the flag for sustainability. Let’s give a huge welcome to the resilient, innovative, and inspiring Kate!

Hey Weirdos! It's another solo episode this week, and would you look at that, she's only gone and got the duration down to 20 minutes! She's in her Efficiency era! It's a fun and light episode today, all about a juicy topic - Signs from the Universe. How does it all work? What in the incense stick am I talking about? Is it all a load of tosh or is there any truth in this?
I personally believe that signs from the universe, (or 'Life' if you prefer to be less woo), can lead us in the right direction, give us pointers, affirm our current beliefs, change our course or even give us the answer to a big decision.
In this episode I talk through 3 short stories of how I've used signs from the universe - 2 that came out of the blue that lead to big actions, and one that I asked for in making an aligned decision. Manifestation comes from the action we take after opportunity, so it's important that we first look for the magic in opportunity in order to take the course that is meant for us.
I'll give you tips on how you can work with signs from the universe to give you the guidance you need in life and business, because as we all know, they are so interlinked.
I'm a firm believer in fate, destiny, but also co-creating our reality and using a positive mindset and perspective to shape our future. I hope you enjoy listening along and I would LOVE to hear about any signs from the universe you receive or request.
