ダービースタリオン PS版をプレイしたことをきっかけに実際の競馬を見始め、毎週土日だけでは足りず、 お年玉を貯めて作った自作PCで国内外の競馬動画を見まくる生活を開始。同時期に血統へ関心を深め、 山野浩一 著『伝説の名馬』に出会ってからはサラブレッドと競馬の歴史を知りたくなり、古本屋や Amazonを徘徊しては競馬本を収集・読破。馬券を除いた “競馬学” をこよなく愛し、マイフェイバリットは山本一生。
