    Strangers on a Bench
    Tom Rosenthal
Have you ever walked past a mysterious stranger on a park bench and wondered about their lives? Tom Rosenthal (singer-songwriter by trade) has spent the past year walking through various parks across the UK and Ireland, approaching random bench-dwellers and asking if he can sit next to them and record their conversation. Every stranger remains anonymous, neither name or place of work is ever revealed (even to Tom himself), leading to greater openness, intimacy, and surprising revelations from the participants.

The Partially Examined Life Philosophy Podcast
Mark Linsenmayer, Wes Alwan, Seth Paskin, Dylan Casey
The Partially Examined Life is a podcast by some guys who were at one point set on doing philosophy for a living but then thought better of it. Each episode, we pick a short text and chat about it with some balance between insight and flippancy. You don't have to know any philosophy, or even to have read the text we're talking about to (mostly) follow and (hopefully) enjoy the discussion. For links to the texts we discuss and other info, check out www.partiallyexaminedlife.com. We also feature episodes from other podcasts by our hosts to round out your partially examined life, including Pretty Much Pop (prettymuchpop.com, covering all media), Nakedly Examined Music (nakedlyexaminedmusic.com, deconstructing songs), Philosophy vs. Improv (philosophyimprov.com, fun with performance skills and philosophical ideas), and (sub)Text (subtextpodcast.com, looking deeply at lit and film). Nations of the World
    Lois Evelyn
This podcast series is intended to take you on a journey to each of the world's many fascinating and diverse nations. In each episode you will learn factual points as well as many details that make each nation unique. Each episode will include four segments. The first one - Bare Bones - will include the basics such as the country's capital, it's form of government, languages, religions, and more. The second one - Heart of the Nation - is where we go more in depth into the geography, wildlife, history, family life, education, arts and culture, imports and exports, to name a few. The third one - Who is? will discuss a few of the notable people from this country. The fourth one - (my favourite) Who Would've Thought? - where detailed unique facts about a country are presented. You will hear no debates, no political slants, and no personal opinions. You will get just the facts. Gaining knowledge about other people and their culture is often the best way to understand who they are and why they do things a certain way. This, in turn, can make us less fearful of differences and hopefully more accepting.

    The Meditations of Marcus Aurelius
    Marcus Aurelius
Marcus Aurelius wrote Meditations in Greek while on campaign between 170 and 180, as a source for his own guidance and self-improvement. These memos survive and continue to inspire others to this day. These writings take the form of quotations varying in length from one sentence to long paragraphs. He explicates the Stoic philosophy that the only way a man can be harmed by others is to allow his reaction to overpower him. He shows no particular religious faith in his writings, but seems to believe that some sort of logical, benevolent force organizes the universe in such a way that even "bad" occurrences happen for the good of the whole.
