    Public Health is Dead
    Public Health is Dead
Public Health is Dead is an award-winning public health show. It's a forward-thinking autopsy on how we've f*cked up in public health. How do we prepare for future pandemics while we're already in the thick of one? And how do we reinvent systems that place some of us closer to death? Through examining our past successes and failures, often through the lens of COVID, we plot a route out of apathy and denial towards health liberation for all. You'll hear unusual tales of how we've battled infectious disease throughout history and mind-stretching interviews with undaunted public health advocates today. This podcast is your anti-establishment field guide to surviving in the era of pandemics — full of vision, hope, and a little punk rock attitude. Public Health is Dead is a eulogy for the field as we know it and a gathering of voices to map out where we go next. *** Public Health is Dead is a 2025 Signal Award-winning podcast for Best Education Podcast (Gold) and Best Science Podcast (Silver). It also won Gold at the W3 Awards in Science & Technology and was nominated in the 2025 International Women's Podcast Awards for "Moment of Factual Clarity". *** Visit publichealthisdead.com for more information

    Boring History for Sleep
    Velvet
Welcome to Boring History to Sleep — the only show where falling asleep in the middle is not only allowed… it’s encouraged. Each episode takes you on a slow, uneventful stroll through the most yawn-worthy corners of the past: treaties nobody remembers, kings who ruled for three weeks, and revolutions that never really got started. Delivered in the softest, most sleep-inducing voice we could find, this show is like warm milk with a side of ancient trivia. Perfect for insomniacs, history nerds, and anyone who thinks a Roman tax policy discussion sounds like a lullaby. Lay back, close your eyes

    VoxDev Development Economics
    VoxDev.org
Workfare schemes, designed as an alternative to more traditional social benefit programmes, are increasingly popular in developing countries. India’s National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS), one of the world’s largest workfare programmes, has been celebrated for leading to increased wages in rural areas. Yet research by Bryce Millet Steinberg and Manisha Shah finds that the programme has unintended consequences for children. In this VoxDevTalk, Steinberg discusses how the research team used multiple household surveys to uncover how the scheme’s promise of wages leads to increased labour demand. In turn, this increases the opportunity cost of remaining in school, with particularly large consequences for adolescents. These findings suggest the value of pairing workfare programmes with complementary policies to incentivise human capital investment.

    NESG Radio
    The Nigerian Economic Summit Group
The Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) is Nigeria’s foremost private sector-led think-tank and policy advocacy institution. At the NESG, our work in providing fact-based advocacy has allowed us to prioritize and use our voices to encourage different actors to come together to dialogue on critical socio-economic issues. Only through conversations, interventions, and innovation will we change the landscape in Nigeria and across Africa. Nevertheless, only a well-informed and united people make a great nation. Millions of Nigeria’s vibrant and talented 200 million population, do not effectively speak, understand or write English. The ones that do may be saturated with misinformation in this current digital world. The NESG Radio is a traditionally syndicated podcast that will effectively inform our people with curated localized content. Our weekly podcasts will help communicate critical information such as economic policies, ideas, health information, trends, and interventions to Nigerians.
