Ep. 143 - The Investment Gap: Coaching, Culture, and Women of Color Entrepreneurs

Why does women of color, first gen entrepreneurs struggle with investing in themselves? I'm diving into this vulnerably and transparently with you.

Here's what I'm covering:

  • Wells Fargo: Between 2019 and 2024, the revenue growth of Asian women-owned businesses was 20.6%, which lagged behind the revenue growth of all women-owned businesses (38.3%) and Asian men-owned businesses (24.8%).
  • Women in Business Stats:  Revenue Trends for Women of Color: Black women-owned businesses average $24,000 annually. Latina-owned businesses are also reported to generate lower revenues compared to non-Hispanic white women-owned businesses.
  • Systemic Barriers: Generational wealth gap
  • Lack of Diversity: We need a coach that looks like us and can empathize with us.
  • First Gen Barriers: Lack of networks and mentors, culturally conditioned to be risk averse and generational trauma the perpetuates scarcity mindset
  • Luxury vs. Necessity

I get it...we just want to make the "right' decision, am I right?! Girl, I get it. I was inspired by David Neagle's episode and decided to offer my interpretation as well as my process on how we can make empowered, aligned decisions:

  1. Get super clear about what you WANT - 3 things that you're going to manifest in 2026
  2. Focus on DECISIONS - the hell yes or hell no for an opportunity, person, and/or thing
  3. Understand CHOICES - is how your subconscious mind is protecting you with the what-ifs
  4. Does said opportunity, person, and/or thing get you one step closer to the 3 things you're manifesting in 2026? If the answer is YES, then make the decision to do it. If the answer is NO, then bless and release.
