Since 2021, he’s been the Executive Director of CARES of Farmington Hills. Established in 2017, CARES (Community, Action, Resources, Empowerment Services) serves the residents of eight suburban communities who need a “hand up.”

Nov. 22, 2025 ~ John O'Leary grew up in St. Louis, and at age 9, while playing with fire and gasoline, he created a massive explosion in his home and was burned on 100% of his body. He was given less than a 1% chance to live. He has given over 2,600 talks worldwide, sharing the lessons of kindness and resilience that fueled his recovery. He is also the author of “On Fire: The 7 Choices to Ignite a Radically Inspired Life,” and a movie of his life, “Soul On Fire,” has just been released.

Nov. 8, 2025 ~ Lori Cunningham shares her upbringing in Detroit, Michigan, and the influence of her parents. Her father, an entrepreneur, instilled in her the belief that goals could be set and achieved, showing her that anything she wanted to do was possible. Her mother taught her resilience and how to cope with life’s challenges. These foundational lessons shaped her entrepreneurial journey, leading her to found a corporate search firm in 1976. This venture, born from her desire to implement new ideas, focused on helping people with their careers.

Nov. 1, 2025 ~ George Blaha is a celebrated sportscaster with 48 years of announcing Michigan State football and 50 years with Detroit Pistons basketball. Blaha was born in Detroit, grew up in Iowa and Michigan, and is a recipient of significant media awards.

Oct. 25, 2025 ~ Charlie Turano began his career in sports broadcasting with Texas radio stations in the 1980s, later joining the Dallas Cowboys in 1989 during their 1-15 season where he pioneered “positive leadership” in sponsorship sales, before co-founding Genesco Sports Enterprises in 1994, one of America’s first sports marketing companies with major clients like Pepsi and MasterCard. Since 2012, he has served as executive director of Heritage Works.

Oct. 18, 2025 ~ Anthony Rugiero, Jr. grew up in Dearborn and began working at his family’s restaurant at age 8 as a dishwasher. In 1964, his mom and dad founded Roman Village Cucina Italiana in Dearborn, and since 2008 he’s been the president and CEO of the four Antonio’s Cucina Italiana Restaurants. He is the founder of The Rugiero Promise Foundation and its signature fundraising event, The Rugiero Casino Royale.

Oct. 11, 2025 ~ Denise Burke is a legal advocate whose career spans military service and significant roles in the anti-abortion movement. Raised Catholic, with a father who was a career law enforcement officer and a mother who taught kindness, Burke pursued law after being fascinated by its logical process and policy implications. Denise Burke views law as a vocation, a calling from God to serve people fairly and justly.

Oct. 4, 2025 ~ Mitch Albom grew up in Philadelphia, was an amateur boxer, a nightclub singer, and a pianist. He became a writer and has been voted the number one sports columnist in the nation 13 times by the Associated Press. He was a panelist on ESPN’s “Sports Reporters” for 26 years and is the author of 13 books, including “Tuesdays With Morrie” and his latest book, “Twice” which will be released next week.

Sept. 29, 2025 ~ Chris Singleton grew up in Charleston, South Carolina, and was drafted as a centerfielder by the Chicago Cubs in 2017 in the 19th Round of the Major League Baseball Draft. On June 17, 2015, his mom was murdered along with 8 other people during a bible study in a church in Charleston, South Carolina. ESPN featured his story in an E:60 documentary. He is the author of “Love Your Neighbor,” and today, he spends the majority of his time as a nationally renowned inspirational speaker.

Sept. 20, 2025 ~ Stephen Henley, the youngest of seven, grew up in a devout Catholic family in Mount Airy, Maryland. His parents, a Marine Corps and Army veteran and a former police officer, raised them in a strict, militaristic home. Henley joined the Marine Corps at 17, serving from 2003 to 2009. His 2006 deployment to Ramadi involved patrolling the Euphrates River to protect a dam and inserting/extracting military units, primarily avoiding improvised explosive devices.

Sept. 17, 2025 ~ Ronna Romney McDaniel was born in Austin, Texas, and grew up in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. From 2015 to 2017, she was the Chair of the Michigan Republican Party, then the Chair of the Republican National Committee, the second woman to hold this position, through 2024. Since 2025, she’s been the CEO of the Michigan Forward Network.

Sept. 6, 2025 ~ Sister Laura Holupchinski and Brother Adrian Samaniego are both members of the Pro Ecclesia Sancta Order, founded in 1992 by a Spanish Jesuit Priest, who promote the Church through the spirituality of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Sister Laura Holupchinski entered the order in 2014, and Brother Adrian Samaniego entered the order in 2021.

Aug. 23, 2025 ~ Teresa Tomeo grew up in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Central Michigan University. From 1988 to 2000, she was a reporter/anchor for WKBD-TV 50 and WXYX-TV, then a daily talk show host on Ave Maria Radio, heard on over 600 radio stations worldwide.

Aug. 16, 2025 ~ Chris Quinn grew up in Flint, Michigan, and earned a B.S. in engineering from the University of Michigan. Since 2002, he's been the president of Quinn IP Law Firm, and since 2010, he and his wife Karen have been very involved with the Lakota tribe and the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. Since 2019, he's also been a professor at the University of Michigan, the co-author of Awaken the Sacred.

Aug. 9, 2025 ~ Tom Gillis grew up in Lake Orion, Michigan, and played collegiate golf at Oakland Community College and Coastal Carolina University. In 1990, he turned professional, having played on the following tours: PGA Tour, PGA Tour Champions, European Tour, Nationwide Tour, NGA Hooters Tour, Gateway Tour, and eGolf Professional Tour. He has played professional tournaments in 26 different countries.

Aug. 2, 2025 ~ Judge Stephen Murphy grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. His mother, from an Italian neighborhood, instilled tenacity. His father, an Irishman and first-generation college graduate, taught him honesty and consideration for others. These values shaped his approach to law and life.
