It's week three of my personal Quarantine, and I'm in your podcast feeds by way of my partner's closet in New West with a new episode. Listen in for snippets of a band my dad was in in 1980, new music from White Poppy, and me talking about how much I love Carla from Bon Appetit Test Kitchen.

S03 Episode 34 - Transmissions from Quarantine #2
This week's episode features a montage of voice memos from my friends about life in quarantine, with music by White Poppy. I talk about organizations that could really use your donations right now, please give generously if you are able to!

Donate to:
Carnegie Community Action Project - http://www.carnegieaction.org/
Keep the Cats Fed - @HappyCatVancouver on Instagram or Twitter
Trans Pizza - #transpizza or transpizza.org

And finally, I play songs from artists who released music during Bandcamp's initiative to pay artists 100% of profits from music sales.

Take care everyone, xx

S03 Episode 33 - Transmissions from Quarantine
Well my dears, we're stuck. COVID-19 has got the world on lock-down. I asked you, dear listeners and followers, which songs make you feel nice. So, this episode is chock full of niceness to soothe your worried minds. When I recorded this, I had a cold, but have since recovered.

Take care out there, call your Grandma, take a walk, and breath deep. We'll get through this!

S03 Episode 32 - Disco F*cks! + Millennial Line
Disco F*cks!
You've probably heard the phrase "disco sucks!" thrown around when people start talking about disco or macho rock culture from the 70's. Disco is rooted in black and latinx culture and music, and was huge in gay nightclubs, so, the hatred of disco was wrapped up in racism and homophobia. This hour, I wanted to offer a shout out to disco new and old! Cause Disco F*cks!

Millennial Line!
Millennial Line is a comedy and poetry event that takes place at Red Gate Art's Society on the third Thursday of every month! It is organized by Tin Lorica and Savannah Erasmus, and Savannah called in to talk about their next show on March 19th. Follow them on socials!

S03 Episode 29 - All Eyes On Wet'suwet'en
If you've been following the news in Canada in the last few weeks, there are solidarity actions taking place all across the country in solidarity with the dismantling of Uni'stot'en camps, and arrest of Indigenous Land Protectors on unceded territory.

Diversify your news sources. Talk to those on the front lines. Show up for Indigenous Land Defenders.

It is also CiTR's annual Fundrive! The reason we're able to talk about these issues freely is our independent media status, which we need your help to maintain. Please support at citr.ca/donate

S03 Episode 26 - for Elissa
This episode is dedicated to the memory of Elissa Barclay. This is an excerpt from a letter written by her sister, Adèle Barclay in the Elissa Barclay Memorial Fund GoFundMe: https://ca.gofundme.com/f/elissa-barclay-memorial-fund

"Music saved my life and my sister's life when we were young teens growing up in small town Ontario. I want to make the life-affirming experience of music available to as many youth as possible.

Since Girls Rock Camp is a Registered Non-Profit and not a Registered Charity, I (Adèle Barclay) will collect the funds and make the donation in Elissa's name in February 2020. Please join me honouring the memory of my dear sister and helping the young ones make the music they need to make to live."

RIP Elissa, Nov. 7, 1980 ~ Nov. 20, 2019

S03 Episode 24 - Make the Yuletide Gay
It's Sagittarius season. It's cuffing season. Everyone is sick. Your exams are done. It's time to mull some wine and eat a lot, make plans to survive a lot of time with your family!

What are some things you’re doing to make the yuletide gay as in happy and homosexual? Personally, I’m hanging out with as many of my dear pals as possible, sneaking flasks into queer dance parties, and buying lots of cheese.

Stay warm out there pals

S03 Episode 22 - 15 reasons to VOTE
The Federal Election is today, so here are 15 reasons to VOTE!

REASON 1 - YOU CAN - democracy is a precious right, and not something we should take for granted. Protests in China and Chile are examples of what the alternative looks like. Change is slow, and voting is not going to solve everything, no. BUT, it helps! It’s harm reduction!
REASON 2 - Pharmacare - people need meds and a lot of them are very expensive. If you don’t have coverage through work, a lot of people cant afford the prescriptions they need to live.
REASON 3 - Indigenous Land Sovereignty
REASON 4 - Climate Change
REASON 5 - Dental coverage
REASON 6 - Electoral Reform
REASON 7 - Having a PM who hasn't worn black/brown face, and doesn't prop up white supremacy
REASON 8 - Sex worker rights
REASON 9 - Abortion rights and access
REASON 10- Trans rights and access to healthcare
REASON 11- Arts funding
REASON 12 - Public Education funding
REASON 13 - Housing access
REASON 14 - The opioid crisis
REASON 15 - Billionaires not being taxed
REASON 16 - Free speech being used to prop up hate speech at public institutions

S03 Episode 21 - Climate Strike
The youth are leading climate action globally, and right now all eyes are on Greta Thunberg following her address to UN climate action summit. Thunberg is right to centre Indigenous activists in the movement, as they have been raising these issues and mobilizing for years before the world was paying attention.

I also talk about Enby Party, a music label, festival, and collective by and for non-binary artists.
