Some men (most men?) feel like seeing a therapist is a sign of mental weakness.
It's time to put pride aside.
Today we're back with part 2 of our conversation with Caesar Fernandez, where Caesar opens up about why he decided to find a therapist and what the experience has been like.
Part 1 - Finding Your Dad Support System
DADennial is hosted by Mike Trenk, LMHC, and is edited by Earfluence.
When Caesar Fernandez went to the park with his daughter, a woman said to him, "Oh that's so sweet, you're babysitting." As a dad, you've probably heard this condescending sexist compliment before, and you probably brushed it off. But for Caesar, he had had enough and told the woman that "No, I don't babysit. This is called parenting."
Modern dads are engaged and don't babysit, but we also need support systems. So how can we find our tribe?
Let's find out in part 1 of the conversation with Caesar.

Poker Pro Josh Smith has figured out how to work his dream job AND be an engaged dad. Today, he talks about the perceived risks of having a family and professional gambling, navigating the mental highs and lows, and balancing it all.

Hi I'm Mike! Along with being a dad by day, I'm also a mental health counselor by night in my own private practice. So I get to see not just my own personal ups and downs of being a dad, but I get to see other families and dads and trying to figure out their day-to-day struggles. As a clinician in private practice, and one of those dads sitting in pick up and drop off lines for school, I wanted to share what I see in this ever-changing world.
