In our 6th episode, we welcomed Vicky Lau, an award-winning chef and culinary entrepreneur from Hong Kong, who founded TATE Dining Room, Date by Tate, and the tofu-themed restaurant Mora. Vicky’s accolades include being named Asia’s Best Female Chef by The World’s 50 Best in 2015 and becoming the first female chef-proprietor in Asia to earn two Michelin stars in 2021. Her restaurant TATE also received top honors like a diamond rating in the 2024 Black Pearl China Guide, while her restaurant, Mora, earned a Michelin Green Star in 2023 and its first Michelin star in 2024. In this episode, we invited the charismatic cross-media creator, actor-director-filmmaker Kearen Pang, to share her experiences and insights into the challenges she has encountered. Kearen dreamed of being an actress when she was young. Now an actress, screenwriter, director, mentor, and community organizer – Kearen’s journey has been nothing short of remarkable! In 2008, her second one-woman show, "goodbye BUT goodbye," earned her the Best Actress (Comedy/Farce) award at the Hong Kong Drama Awards. In 2014, she was recognized as one of the "Ten Outstanding Young Persons in Hong Kong." In 2017, she secured the Best Director award for a Foreign Language Feature Film at the Nice International Filmmakers Festival for her work on "29+1." The following year, she also claimed the Best New Director award at the 37th Hong Kong Film Awards for the same movie. Curiosity is Kearen's biggest driver, and she has successfully capitalized on her past experiences when venturing into new fields. Her unique interpretation of failure as a stepping stone to success has helped her excel each time. In this exclusive principal interview, CTFEG Group Chief Strategy Officer, Jennifer Ma, explores Ying Wa Primary School’s emphasis on moral education with Ying Wa Principal, Dr. Chan May Kuen Sylvia.
