今天是 2025 年 12 月 31 日。在幾個小時之後呢，我們就要跨入 2026 了，大家現在的心情是期待，還是帶著一點點遺憾呢？提到遺憾，大家最直覺想到的英文可能就是 regret。但在美式文化裡，regret 不只是傷感而已，它更是一種積極的生活態度。今天這一集，我們要用幾個關鍵的情境，教你如何處理 2025 的遺憾，並開啟一個 No Regrets 的 2026！
在美式口語中，談論regrets遺憾的時機主要分為以下幾種種情境，你常聽到的應該是No regrets! 沒有遺憾的人生 “Go for it! Live life with no regrets.” 去吧！過個不留遺憾的人生。把這一集作為2025的結尾，和2026的新開始。
(一) regret可以用來鼓勵他人冒險，例如: 當朋友在猶豫要不要換工作或告白時，美國人會用regret來鼓勵對方。
(1) I’d rather regret doing it than regret not doing it. 我寧願後悔做這事，也不要後悔自己沒去做。
(2) You'll regret the chances you didn't take. 你會遺憾的是那些你沒把握住的機會。
(3) Go for it! Live life with no regrets. 去吧！過個不留遺憾的人生。
(二) 不後悔嘗試過，也都用No regrets! 
(1) It didn't work out, but I have no regrets. 雖然沒成功，但我並不後悔。
(2)  I gave it my best shot. No regrets.  我全力以赴了。沒有遺憾!
(三)  無法出席婚禮、派對或正式會議時，你可以用regrets。
(1) Please send my regrets 請代我致歉 ，無法出席的意思。
(2) Regrets only. 不克參加者請回覆 —常出現在邀請函底部，意思是如果你會去就不用回，不去才要回覆。
(3) I regret to inform you that your application was unsuccessful. 我很遺憾地通知你，你的申請沒有過。 用於拒絕求職者或通知壞消息時用。
(四) regret用在幽默或誇張的情境 ， 有時候遺憾只是用來開玩笑，形容做了一件蠢事。
(1) Immediate regret. 秒後悔 ! 當你做了一件蠢事（剪了一個超醜的髮型，吃一口超辣的食物），美國人會指著自己說這句immediate regret。
(2) It's a bit too late for regrets now, isn't it?" (現在才來後悔，是不是有點太晚了？)

今天我們來討論AI和AGI，大家都知道什麼是AI？AI就是Artificial Intelligence人工智慧。那大家有沒有聽過AGI呢？AGI就是通用人工智慧(Artificial General Intelligence)，這是什麼概念呢？一般而言AI會有分兩種。一種是比較弱的AI就是Weak AI或是Narrow AI。一種是比較強的AI 稱為Strong AI。
比較弱的AI我們叫它做什麼，它就做什麼，也就是說人類下什麼指令，它就按照這個指令執行，不會跟你辯論，也不會反抗人類的指令。舉例來說，我們想要翻譯某些文字內容，我們只要把想翻譯的內容輸入電腦軟體，像是 Google 翻譯（Google Translate）， 最近Google Translate很流行，這一款由 Google 開發的免費、多語言的機器翻譯服務。它不僅只是一般的「電子字典」，它是一個能夠處理多種媒介（文字、語音、圖像）的強大工具，以前沒有那麼厲害，現在變得越來越強，但是它也還是weak AI。另外，我們在陌生的地方都會用導航系統，我們只要告訴導航我們的目的地，明確的下指令，導航就會帶我們去我們想要去的地方，這也是weak AI。
比較強的AI 就是AGI (通用人工智慧)，這種通用人工智慧可能發展成具備人類所有的特質: 有意識、有情感、有決斷力、有直覺、能解決問題、能執行任務也可以主動採取任何的行動，是不是很驚人。
那麼現在流行的ChatGPT和Gemini 是AI還是AGI呢? 它們都不是AGI，因為它們都還無法有人類擁有的特質。不過人類正朝著這個方向前進，所以ChatGPT 和Gemini只能算是Pre-AGI，雖然已經很強、很通用，但還不到人類等級通用人工智慧，以下有幾個簡單要點來的區分ChatGPT和Gemini是否是AGI的特點。
1. 非AGI  (Not AGI)
→ It cannot think like a human in all situations.     
2. 無意識的智慧 (Not conscious)
→ It has no self, feelings, or awareness.                                  
3. 不能設定自我人生目標 ( No self-chosen life goals)
→ It does not decide what it wants to do.
4. 非人類大腦Not a human brain
→ It does not learn or experience the world like humans.
將來的世界可能還會出現ASI (Artificial Superintelligence) 這個可能就比人類強大幾百萬倍了!
結論就是AGI is the goal and ASI is the far future.

大家都有聽過黑五購物周對吧? 英文就是Black Friday，不過大家知道Black Friday 的由來嗎? 首先，老師來問大家幾個問題?
第一個問題: 大家知道黑色星期五 Black Friday是在什麼時候嗎?  
第二個問題: 為甚麼要叫做黑色星期五?Black Friday? 為什麼不用其他顏色呢?
NO1: 通常Black Friday 都是在感恩節(Thanksgiving) 之後，Thanksgiving是美國的國定假日，所以大家都會休息，星期四休息，那麼之後就是會有一個長的周末long weekend，在這個long weekend商人就把祭出大折扣、大優惠吸引消費者來購買，這也是商人的賺錢的好時機，也是購物者想要用低價錢買到便宜又好的貨物。
NO2: 為何要叫做Black Friday? 這個起源大概可以說是1960年代，費城的警方用的字，警方在感恩節之後的星期五非常的累，因為滿街都是人(crowded streets) ，而且人都就會有混亂(shopping chaos) ，對警方來說就是個頭痛的日子，所以稱之為Black Friday! 一開始這Black Friday完完全全含有是負面的意思(negative connotation)。
以下是形容當時警方的狀況。
There were huge crowds, terrible traffic, and the police had to work long, stressful hours.
For them, the day felt “black” — meaning difficult and exhausting.

另外，Black Friday黑五購物周過後又出現Cyber Monday，那位什麼要叫做Cyber Monday 呢? Cyber 是網路的意思，Monday 是星期一，合起來就是網路星期一，商人們要賺大錢肯定要花心思的，要如何讓顧客花大錢呢? 就是把優惠再繼續延長，讓在Black Friday買不過癮的客人繼續買買買，所以店家們紛紛把折扣延到假日過後的星期一! 那麼星期一要怎麼買，就是在Cyber網路上買，讓你星期一在網路繼續花錢! 也因為網路的關係，Black Friday 也變成全球總動員，不再是美國的專利，全球都在瘋Black Friday，就是這樣的緣故。

2. And I thought that was fantastic, because if you get a failing grade, you think, I'm nothing, I'm nowhere.

3. On the left, you see the fixed mindset students. There’s hardly any activity. They run from the error. They don’t engage with it. * fixed mindset students 固定思維學生 *run from the error 逃避錯誤

4. But on the right, you have the students with the growth mindset, the idea that abilities can be developed. They engage deeply. Their brain is on fire with yet. 5. First of all, we can praise wisely, not praising intelligence or talent. That has failed. Don’t do that anymore.

摘要：Julian Treasure 分享說話的藝術，教我們如何讓他人願意聽你說話，並且避免七大語言陷阱、運用 HAIL 原則和掌握聲音工具箱(voice toolbox) 。
1. And yet many people have the experience that when they speak, people don’t listen to them. And why is that?  *experience (n.) 經驗 
- 西方思維: 精準地指出問題所在，接下來反問為什麼會這樣? 
2. I’ve assembled for your pleasure here 7 deadly sins of speaking.  *assemble (v.) 整理，組合
 *for your pleasure (讓你們高興) 取悅你們 * 7 deadly sins 借用聖經文化的「七宗罪」
 傲慢、嫉妒、憤怒、怠惰、貪婪、暴食、色慾
- 西方思維: 西方演講常用誇張或文化典故（如聖經的 seven deadly sins）來增加吸引力。
(1) First, gossip. *gossip八卦、閒話 (2) Second, judging. 評判 (別人會讓人變得防禦性的 defensive)
(3) Third, negativity. 負面思考I remember one day, I said to her, “It’s October 1 today,” and she said, “I know, isn’t it dreadful?” It’s hard to listen when somebody’s that negative.   *dreadful 糟透的、討厭的
(4) And another form of negativity, complaining. *form 形式 (5) Excuses. 藉口
(6) Penultimate, the sixth of the seven, embroidery, exaggeration. *penultimate 倒數第二     *embroidery 潤飾，渲染  * exaggeration 誇張 
(7) And finally, dogmatism.  *dogmatism：教條、武斷
3. Speak with honesty, authenticity, integrity, and love (HAIL).
     誠實（Honesty）、真實（Authenticity）、正直（Integrity）、愛（Love）
 - 西方思維：以價值觀指引行動，溝通建立信任與連結
4. Use your voice toolbox: register, timbre, prosody, pace, pitch, volume.
voice toolbox：聲音工具箱
* Register（音域）聲音的高低範圍，從低沉到高亢。
*Timbre（音色）聲音的質感或特性，例如柔和、溫暖、沙啞、明亮等。
 *Prosody（語調/抑揚頓挫）語音的節奏、重音與韻律，用來表達情感和強調重點。
*Pace（語速）說話的快慢節奏。
* Pitch（音調）聲音的高低頻率，用來表達情緒或意圖，提高音調，降低音調。
*Volume（音量）聲音的大小強弱，可以製造戲劇性的效果。

(一) 有人幫助你，你對別人說的感謝的話語

這一季的感恩主題，我要感謝我生活中的點滴起伏，和生命中短暫交錯的所有人，用我上課喜歡說的一句話: What goes around, comes around. 【去的都會回來的】，就是因果(Karma)就是種甚麼因，得什麼果，最後Angela引用史懷哲醫生生所說的一些話做結尾，期待我們都珍惜生命的每一天。

Whatever you give to life, it gives you back.  你給生活什麼，它就給你什麼。
Do not hate anybody. 不要恨任何人。
The hatred which comes out from you will someday come back to you. 從你身上發生的恨意，終將回到你身上。

這些表達方式能夠讓我們回想一下我們的幸運，看到自己的人生起起落落，如果還能往正面方向前進，相信大家都能越過越扎實。 有一本書(The Light in the Heart ) 作者Roy T. Bennett 說了以下的一段話:

第四季第八集: 你知道positive mindset /embrace positivity/seek out positivity這些用語嗎?
大家好，歡迎大家來收聽English Angel 在師大! 我是Angela老師! 這一季我們一起學習正面的英文常用語，試著把英文的正面用語融入你的學習中，你就會得到意想不到的好處。
我們今天從一句名言來介紹今天的感恩用語: “We don't see the world as it is, we see it as we are” Anaïs Nin (阿內絲·尼恩)，這是一個美國作家所說的話，很有趣的一句話。她說我們沒有看到世界的本來樣貌，我們只是按照內心的想法去看這世界。很深奧但是很值得省思的一句話，也就是心境決定外境。
所以我們來看看如何把我們的思考導向正面的思考，把自己的焦點放在正面的事，用不同的想法應對周遭的事物，你我都做得到。
我們來看以下表達方式:
(一) I am focusing on… 我專注在…
例句1. I am focusing on the positive things. *positive things 正面的事
例句2. I am focusing on the bright side of things.  *bright side of things 正面的事
例句3. I am focusing on the blessings in my life. * blessings 祝福

(二) I am choosing to V 我選擇去做…
例句1. I am choosing to see the good in every situation. * see the good 看到美好事物
例句2. I am choosing to cultivate a positive mindset.  *cultivate a positive mindset 培養正面心態
例句3. I am choosing to embrace positivity. *embrace positivity 擁抱正面的東西
例句4: I am choosing to live a positive life.  *live a positive life 活出正面的生活
(三) I am thinking 我正在思考 
例句1. I am thinking positively.   *positively 正面地
例句2. I am thinking with a positive mindset.  *with a positive mindset 用正面的心態
例句3. I am thinking positively, focusing on solutions rather than problems. *solutions 解決方案
(四) I am training … to V 我訓練我的心態去做

這一集我們來看看如何鼓勵讚美自己，用各種不同動詞表達自己進步了，正在朝著自己的理想邁進，有時我們會覺得卡住了，但是那不是讓我們放棄自己的夢想的一個藉口。我們來看一看如何用英文告訴自己正在往前邁進，正在進步正在努力追求自己的目標!
我們來看以下的:
(一) move forward toward 向前進/ take steps toward邁步向前/ make strides toward跨步向前   
例句1: I am moving forward toward my goal. 我正向我的目標前進。
例句2: I am taking steps toward my dreams. 我正往我的夢想邁步向前。　
例句3: I am making strides toward my dreams. 我正往我的夢想跨步向前。

(二) make progress進步/make steady progress穩健的進步/make incremental progress逐漸的進步
例句1: I am making progress toward my goals. 我正朝我的目標前進。
例句2: I am making steady progress toward my dreams. 我正穩定的朝我的夢想進步。
例句3: I am making incremental progress toward my desired outcome. 我正朝著我想要的結果逐漸進步

(三)　pursue 追求work toward 努力做 make … a reality 變成真實
例句1: I am pursuing my dreams. 我在在追求我的夢想。
例句2: I am working hard toward my dreams.我努力朝向我的夢想。
例句3: I am making my dreams a reality. 我要讓我的夢想成真。

(四) go after 追求　follow my passions 跟隨我的熱情　strive to 努力去
例句1: I'm going after my dreams, full steam ahead.
例句2: I’m on a mission to follow my passions. 我的任務是跟隨我的熱情。
例句3: I’m striving to achieve my dreams. 我努力達成我的夢想。
好的，以上這些句子可以替自己加油打氣，讓自己沉浸在正面的氛圍裡，尤其是有時候在追求夢想的時候，常常會有很多阻礙，所以有時難免會卡住，卡住的時候可以想想這一句話。
Feeling stuck is normal but it’s not an excuse to give up on your dreams.
覺得卡住了停滯不前是很正常的，但是那絕不是藉口讓你放棄你的夢想。

這一集我們挑幾個形容詞，有能力復原的(resilient) 、足智多謀的(resourceful)、有決心的 (determined), 很擅長的(adept)和適應力強的(adaptable) 。

(1)  resilient (adj.) 很快回復的；有能力復原的
例句1: I know how to be happier and more resilient. 我知道如何能快樂些和適應力強一些。
例句2: I think everyone can learn to be resilient. It’s a skill that everyone can learn and develop.
我認為每個人都夠學習很快回復的。這是一種每個人都可以學習和發展的能力。
例句3: I’ve remained resilient, consistently bouncing back, and moving forward. 
我一直維持恢復力強的，一致地重振旗鼓不斷地向前進。

(2)  resourceful (adj.) 足智多謀的; 很能隨機應變的
例句1: She is the most resourceful person I have seen in my life. 她是我人生中見過最能隨機應變的人。
例句2: The ability to be resourceful is a crucial skill that can impact your success. 有能力可以隨機應變是一項很關鍵的技巧，這種技巧可以影響你的成功。
例句3: A resourceful person can see opportunities when others only see obstacles. 當其他的人只看到障礙時，足智多謀的人可以發現機會。
(3)  determined (adj.) 有決心的
例句1: She was determined to finish the project ahead of schedule.  她很有決心的把計畫超前完成。
例句2: Despite the difficulty, he was determined to maintain a positive attitude at work.
儘管困難，他還是決心在工作上面保持一個正面的態度。
例句3:If I you are determined to learn, no one can stop you. 如果你決心要學，沒有人可以阻止你。
(下一句: If you are not willing to learn, no one can help you. 如果你不想學，沒有人能幫你。)這句話也講得太真切，太好了！　共勉之！　
(4)  adept (adj.) 擅長的; 內行的 ; 熟練的
例句1:  I am adept at mastering new skills and concepts. 我擅長學會新技巧和概念。
例句2:  I am adept at problem-solving and time management. 我很擅長問題解決和時間分配。
例句3: I am adept at building and maintaining strong relationships with clients. 我很擅長和客戶建立和維持很穩固的關係。
(5)  adaptable (adj.)適應力強的
例句1: I am adaptable and flexible at work.  我在工作時有適應力和彈性。
例句2: I consider myself to be more adaptable than most people my age. 我認我自己比同齡的人適應力要強些。
例句3: Being adaptable helps me react positively to changes in my environment. 有適應力幫助我在我的環境中對於改變能正面地回應。
