I Ran a Marathon and Now I’m Insufferable.
Listen to me ramble about it for 10 mins. Also this was recorded with my medal in studio. Okay. Bye.
The 2 minute reel recap on Instagram
In part two of The Living Abroad Chronicles, we dive deeper into the hustle and grind, the loneliness no one warns you about, the friendships that keep you sane, and yes, the infamous Black Tax. It’s honest, raw, and a little too real, but also filled with laughter, lessons, and love.
Three Kenyan ladies took a leap of faith, fit their lives into a suitcase and left at the first opportunity. We sat down to talk about it all. The culture shocks, language barriers, spicy food tragedies and the delicate dance of assimilation. It’s a story of courage, curiosity and a little bit of chaos told with laughter, honesty and heart.

Dearly beloved, we took one for the team and said it so you don’t have to. Now behold; SEND TO ALL. This is the podcast you forward to your mum, dad, that nosy colleague, your cousin with unsolicited opinions, your neighbour’s best friend, your uncle in the village and every human who cannot resist the eternal inquiry: “When are you getting married? When are the kids coming?”
Now to you, this has found well and healthy (hopefully). Kindly, stop asking about the marriage and the babies. Most importantly, stop suggesting potential partners like you’re running a community-based Tinder franchise. Please and thank.
Instead channel that energy into surprise parties for:
🎉 A business launch that finally got its first paying client.
🎉 A job promotion that didn’t come with extra unpaid duties.
🎉 A master’s degree completion party (don't ask about the PHD)
🎉 A farewell bash for the friend brave enough to start life abroad (complete with m-pesa donations).
🎉 A medal ceremony for surviving a marathon
🎉 A one-year anniversary for ditching that toxic 9-to-5 to embrace art, travel, freedom.
While at it buy presents for that friend who just completed a major exam, that one who has stayed consistent in therapy, that who has survived a hard season in their life, the one finally putting a deposit on something they have been intending to buy.
Let’s stay busy, beloveds. Stay celebratory. Stay petty only if you must.
What does a lost kitchen knife have to do with family dynamics? A lot more than you’d think.
A candid conversation on debt. From national struggles to personal choices and the risks of quick loan apps.

A tale of belly rubs, bold confessions, and a mystery that still lingers in the echoes of an arrogant laugh.
Rixpoet joined me for a raw and reflective conversation on modern masculinity, identity, and mental health. He opened up about his personal struggles, the weight of societal expectations, and the silent epidemic of male loneliness. We explored what it truly means to be a man today and how brotherhood, vulnerability, and unlearning can lead to healing.

Beloveds, what do you get when you mix storytelling, safe chaos, soft masculinity, and a sprinkle of unhinged banter?
A Drunken Lectures x Hekaya Haven collab, that’s what!
We brought the classroom to the studio and got into some brilliant, unfiltered chit chat unpacking the concept of the third place, the need for community, and why men need to cry more often.
Bring your playful most unserious self and loads of softness.
It’s giving tickles, giggles, and gems!

The episode where we yap about money.
We open the door to understanding money. With a focus on investment basics and Money Market Funds, our guest breaks down the “where to start” question with clarity and ease. From personalising your savings goals to shifting how you approach financial decisions, this conversation is the realistic starting point we all need.
Think of it as a calm introduction to a mini-series we’ll be doing, talking all about finances. Thank you to the community for steering this conversation forward by asking questions.

We rarely, if ever, talk about women’s sexual satisfaction and what actually feels good. We’ve been taught to ignore, suppress, perform but not explore. This week’s episode is giving: “the things you whisper in the group chat—but we’re saying them out loud, with no shame.” kinda vibe.
I sat down with the brilliant Robertta Bobbie from Love and Orgasms to talk all things:
✨ Self-Pleasure
✨ Ovulation horny
✨ The orgasm gap
✨ Boundaries in partnered sex
This episode (and many more to come) is for every woman who’s ever been handed shame instead of curiosity. I hope it gives you permission to explore. To know your body. Every. Damn. Inch. To advocate for your pleasure.Go thee and explore.
Femicide in Kenya is rising at an alarming rate, leaving behind stories of stolen futures and grieving families. In this episode, we take a deep dive into the crisis, hearing a heartbreaking revelation from one of our guests; a story of loss, pain, and the harsh reality women continue to face.
As we mark Women’s Month, we hold space for the women we’ve lost, the ones still fighting, and the urgent need to #AccelerateAction towards #EndingFemicide and ensuring a safer future for all women.
Friendships between women can be some of the most fulfilling, transformative, and, at times, challenging relationships we experience. They shape who we are, provide deep emotional connection, and create a sense of belonging. We’re diving into the depth of women’s friendships, debunking common myths, and exploring how we can cultivate stronger, more intentional connections.
