December 27 Daily Reading- Read the Bible in 1 Year
If you would like to download my FREE calendar for keeping track of your commitment to read the Bible every day, you can find that on my site, here: https://www.inthefamilywaycoaching.com/pages/read-the-bible-in-1-year Monthly memberships to support this event can be purchased on my site, here: https://www.inthefamilywaycoaching.com/offering_packages Today we will continue reading the Book of Revelation, Chapters 13 and 14. We will also look at Matthew 10:28-33 and Matthew 16:24-27 in relation to our reading today.  Today we will read and compare the difference between worshipping an idol vs worshipping God, being marked with God's seal vs being marked with the seal of the world, and the difference between valuing physical life vs spiritual life. In each of these situations we see that one way leads to eternal death and the other to eternal life with promise of reward and rest. We will be reminded that we need to continue to worship God and follow Jesus, trusting in God, enduring difficult times even when it looks like evil is winning over good, because God's big picture tells us that He is still in control and we have won over sin, gaining us eternal life.  It may look like we have lost the battle, but in reality, we have won the war. Take heart, dear brothers and sisters, and don't lose sight of the fact that eternal life is worth far more than our physical, finite life.  If you enjoyed today's reading and feel like God has lit YOUR light please click the LIGHT button (it looks like a thumbs up or a heart) and consider subscribing to or following my channel, you have not done so already done so already. If you would like to download my FREE calendar for keeping track of your commitment to read the Bible every day, you can find that on my site, here: https://www.inthefamilywaycoaching.com/pages/read-the-bible-in-1-year Monthly memberships to support this event can be purchased on my site, here: https://www.inthefamilywaycoaching.com/offering_packages Today we will continue reading the Book of Revelation, Chapters 11 and 12. Today we will read and discuss God's Great power. He has won against Satan! And because He has won, WE HAVE WON! We won with Jesus' Blood! We won by not loving our physical lives more than our spiritual lives. We won by not turning away from God. We won by following God NO MATTER WHAT! Satan has been cast down from heaven. He and his angels are on the earth, with us. They are ANGRY. But we don't need to worry. Jesus is greater than Satan! We need to remember that we are not fighting a physical battle. We are fighting a spiritual battle. When you are struggling against your sinful nature, take the time to remember that JESUS MAKES US STRONG and WE HAVE WON OVER SIN! YOU CAN DO IT! You have been set free! You do not have to choose to keep doing the same sinful behaviors. You can choose to do what JESUS wants you to do instead of what your sinful nature wants to do! JESUS WILL MAKE YOU STRONG! Let's praise God the way we read about today in Revelation: We thank you, Lord God of all power. We thank you that you are the One who lives now and forever. Bring good to all your people, small and great, but get rid of the people who destroy the earth. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.  If you enjoyed today's reading and feel like God has lit YOUR light please click the LIGHT button (it looks like a thumbs up or a heart) and consider subscribing to or following my channel, you have not done so already done so already. We will also re-read Revelation 3:19-22, Hebrews 12:4-11, and 2 Corinthians 7:8-10 in understanding today's reading and daily application. Today's reading and discussion will continue the theme of what we spoke about yesterday- God is so gracious and forgiving. Even during the difficult times on earth that we are reading about in Revelation God is disciplining the people on earth in order to grieve them into seeing their sinful behavior, with the goal that people will turn to Him and Jesus for salvation. We will look at several passages in the Bible that we have read this year as we understand and remember the big picture of how God uses discipline to cause us to want to confess our sin and seek His forgiveness, with the goal to restore us to Himself! We will be encouraged today that that although discipline is painful, it actually serves to remind us that GOD LOVES US! If He did not love us He would not bother to discipline us, the same way our physical fathers show(ed) their love for us by disciplining us.  If you enjoyed today's reading and feel like God has lit YOUR light please click the LIGHT button (it looks like a thumbs up or a heart) and consider subscribing to or following my channel, you have not done so already done so already. Today's reading and discussion will be about the fact that God and His Son are the only ones who can save us. Nothing else can save us. There is no other name given under heaven through which we can be saved. We cannot be saved by being good people or by earning it with good works. It can only be received by God as His free gift by accepting Jesus as our savior. God is so gracious and patient and forgiving. Even during the difficult times on earth that we are reading about in Revelation people will still be able to accept Jesus' free gift of salvation. God does not want anyone to die. He wants everyone to come to salvation and accept His free gift so they may receive the gift of eternal life with Him. It is so important that we let people know about God's love and gift of salvation. Eventually every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord. How much better it will be for people to acknowledge this before they stand before Jesus at the time of judgment! If you would like to download my FREE calendar for keeping track of your commitment to read the Bible every day, you can find that on my site, here: https://www.inthefamilywaycoaching.com/pages/read-the-bible-in-1-year Monthly memberships to support this event can be purchased on my site, here: https://www.inthefamilywaycoaching.com/offering_packages Today we will continue reading the Book of Revelation, Chapters 5 and 6:1-5 and 7-17.  In today's reading John told us about the worship of Jesus and the songs being sung to praise him by the angels and the 24 leaders who are in heaven. John saw a scroll that was in God's hand. Only Jesus was found to be worthy to open the seven seals and read the scroll.  In our discussion for daily application we will talk about how the Book of Revelation is all about Jesus and His second coming to earth. Today we read about how the angels and the leaders in heaven make Jesus the most important one. We need to be worshipping, praising, and making Jesus the most important one in OUR lives, too. As we learn about the big picture this year we have learned that our physical bodies and physical lives are not what is most important. Our eternal spiritual life is what is important. We take care of that eternal life by believing in Jesus, loving Him, obeying Him, and making Him the most important one, rather than ourselves, just as we see by John's vision is being done in heaven. Jesus taught us to pray what we call, "The Lord's Prayer." Part of that prayer says, "Our Father who is in Heaven, hallowed by your name. Your kingdom come your will be done on earth as it is in heaven." May God's will be done on earth as it is in heaven. God's will is that we worship, love, and obey Him and His Son, Jesus. In today's reading Jesus tells us that he is here and it is like he is standing at your door and tapping on it, calling for you.  Jesus asks us to open the door of our hearts and let Him in so that He can be with us and we can be with Him!  In our discussion for daily application we will talk about God's love for us- that He does not want to see anyone die, but wants to invite EVERYONE to come to Him through Jesus. We need to be sure we are witnessing to others so that people know that God loves them and that Jesus is standing at the door to THEIR heart, tapping on it, waiting for an invitation to join them!  If you enjoyed today's reading and feel like God has lit YOUR light please click the LIGHT button (it looks like a thumbs up or a heart) and consider subscribing to or following my channel, you have not done so already done so. In today's reading we will begin to read and discuss the letters that Jesus sent to the seven churches of Asia. In each letter Jesus tells the church what they are doing well and what needs improvement. Each letter ends with the question, "Do you have ears? Then listen to what the Spirit tells the churches." The letters are meant as a warning and promise of blessings for us, too! We need to be sure that we do not forget our first love- Jesus! We need to be sure that we are not letting people infect our churches with wrong teachings and sexual immorality. We need to be sure that we are not worshipping idols, but instead, are making Jesus the most important one in our lives. As rewards for our faithfulness and obedience we will be allowed to eat the fruit from the tree of life; we will have eternal life with Jesus; we will be given secret manna and a white stone with our new name written on it! Jesus will let us rule. He will give us himself! We have so many wonderful things to look forward to as we endure hardships here on earth. We need to remember to keep our eyes on the prize and remain faithful to Jesus no matter what, all the way to the very end.  If you enjoyed today's reading and feel like God has lit YOUR light please click the LIGHT button (it looks like a thumbs up or a heart) and consider subscribing to or following my channel, if you have not done so already done so.  If you know someone who might be interested in reading the Bible with me this year please SHARE today's reading with them! In today's reading we read about John experiencing a vision in heaven with Jesus and hearing God's voice. John is told to send a letter to the seven churches of Asia about what he sees and and hears. Jesus confirms that He WILL return!  In our discussion for daily application we will talk about obedience and being a witness for God. John obeyed the command to write what he saw and pass along the message that he was given to the seven churches of Asia. In the same way, we, too, need to remember that we are called to be witnesses for God in what WE experience with Him. We also need to obey God by making sure that we are doing the work He gives us to do so that we are actually found to be doing it when Jesus returns, like He taught us. We also read and discuss the importance of continuing to do good and be the light in the world, being different from the world, which is dark. We will put together the pieces of what we have been learning this year with encouragement and reminders of God's message to us this year about love and obedience, knowing that we have Jesus with us always. We simply need to use the tools available to us to win over the world, win over darkness, win over sin, win over death, while shining brightly with God's love for each other and all the world. We will read Chapter 1:1-2, 5-9, Chapter 2:1-6, 9-17, 27, 29 and Chapter 3:1-2, 4-11, and 13-24. Today John will talk to us about the difference between SAYING we love and actually ACTING like it and BEING loving toward others. It is not enough just to SAY we love others, we have to actively refrain from "hating" or "disliking" one another! We need to actively work toward unity with one another, even sharing what we have with one another when someone has need. Love is not just a thing we talk about- a noun; love is an action word- a verb! In our discussion for daily application I will share my own personal testimony about how God has been working in my life to love others. God has reconciled me with people in my work place I have had difficulties with. Satan tries to keep believers apart from one another because he understands that we are one with each other and God. I have found that when there is someone I meet or work with who just rubs me the wrong way or I do not like them for a reason that I cannot even define, that often (but not always) I learn that they are believers!  As a result, I change my attitude toward them and actively work toward having a spirit of unity with them. It can be difficult, especially if they are unwilling, but God has worked in our hearts and we are more agreeable with one another, even loving with one another! Praise God for guiding us to walk in His light! Today the author of Hebrews will encourage us to think of life as though we are running a marathon race. A marathon is a very long race and life is the longest race we will run. We need to be unshakable in our faith, keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, and remember that there is always a bigger picture than just what we are experiencing in this moment or even the entire day.  We need to trust God's training process, believing that God is working good into everything that is going on, the same way we saw that He worked good into everything we have been reading about in the Bible this year. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow, so we know that He is faithful and will always be with us. While He is with us we can trust that He is working good into everything while training us to know right from wrong and sinless, like He is, so we can be light in the world. If you would like to download my FREE calendar for keeping track of your commitment to read the Bible every day, you can find that on my site, here: https://www.inthefamilywaycoaching.com/pages/read-the-bible-in-1-year Monthly memberships to support this event can be purchased on my site, here: https://www.inthefamilywaycoaching.com/offering_packages Today we will continue reading the Book of Hebrews, Chapter 5:1-6, 8-12, 14, Chapter 6:1-6, 9-15, 17-20, Chapter 7:1-3, 11, 18-19, 21-27, and Chapter 8:1-6, 10, and 12. In today's reading we will get a close up view of learning how Jesus was able to say, "no" to sin, so we can also say, "no" to sin and, "yes" to spiritual growth and maturity. Jesus was not given an easy-breezy life. Jesus needed to practice discerning right from wrong and suffer difficult situations that gave him opportunities to learn how to deal with sin. Likewise, our lives are filled with opportunities to learn these same skills. We will have difficult situations to endure. We can ask Him to strengthen us and help us learn to discern what is right from wrong. Our goal should be to learn these skills so that we can imitate Jesus and also, like Jesus, be examples to others of how to say, "no" to sin. Doing this will be a sign of our spiritual growth and maturity. December 12 Daily Reading- Read the Bible in 1 Year
If you would like to download my FREE calendar for keeping track of your commitment to read the Bible every day, you can find that on my site, here: https://www.inthefamilywaycoaching.com/pages/read-the-bible-in-1-year Monthly memberships to support this event can be purchased on my site, here: https://www.inthefamilywaycoaching.com/offering_packages Today we will continue reading the Book of Hebrews, Chapters 2, 3:1-2, 6, 12-18, and 4:1-4, 9-16. Today we will read about how we can come to Jesus and ask Him for help to be strong when we are experiencing sinful thoughts and temptation to sin. We can do this because He came to Earth as a human and experienced sinful thoughts but always chose to obey God rather than give in to temptation.  In our discussion for daily application I will share how God used this very application in my life today and when I prayed for strength Jesus gave me His peace and I stopped having difficulty with the issues I had been struggling with this week! As a believer we have many benefits and tools available for us to use, but we need to be aware of them first to be able to use them. We learn about them by reading the Bible! Jesus being a source of strength whom we can turn to is a very big benefit for us as believers. We need to go to Him when we face temptation so that He can help us. If we don't go to Him then we are missing out and struggling for no reason! December 11 Daily Reading- Read the Bible in 1 Year
If you would like to download my FREE calendar for keeping track of your commitment to read the Bible every day, you can find that on my site, here: https://www.inthefamilywaycoaching.com/pages/read-the-bible-in-1-year Monthly memberships to support this event can be purchased on my site, here: https://www.inthefamilywaycoaching.com/offering_packages Today we finish reading the second letter from Peter with Chapter 3 and begin the Book of Hebrews, Chapter 1. Today we will read about the difference in how God views time and how we view time. That God is not slow to keep His promises, but that His timing is perfect. We can be sure that Jesus WILL RETURN. While it might seem like more than 2,000 years later is too long a time to wait for His return, we need to understand that God's delay in calling for Jesus' return has purpose: to give time for as many people as possible to come into salvation, rather than suffer from His eventual judgment. God does not want anyone to die, but for all to be saved. In our discussion for daily application we will discuss the importance of us to continue to do the good work that God has for us to do since our work deals directly with helping to bring people into knowledge and acceptance of God's plan of salvation through Jesus. It is necessary for us to have a sense of urgency to do this work before it is too late and Jesus returns to judge the world. Today we will read and discuss remembering to continually grow spiritually so that we do not return to sinful behavior, either on our own or at the leading away by false teachers, and be like an animal that returns to what it has thrown up and eats it again. Instead, we need to remember that we know Jesus and be strong in our faith so that we not only continue growing but are able to do the good things that God has planned for us, which are important!  If you enjoyed reading and feel like God has lit YOUR light please click the LIGHT button (it looks like a thumbs up or a heart) and consider subscribing to or following my channel, if you have not done so already done so.  If you know someone who might be interested in reading the Bible with me this year please SHARE today's reading with them! In the Family Way Coaching Podcast- With Robin (Audio only)
Welcome to my podcast! My name is Robin. I am an appreciative Christian coach. My goal as your spiritual sister is to help you make lasting lifestyle changes from a Godly, rather than worldly, perspective.  Topics for discussion will include topics such as: identity exchange, spiritual growth, health and wellness, breaking bad habits, forming good habits, and more!  For those interested in understanding the big picture of the Bible, check out my podcast postings for reading the Day By Day Kid's Bible, written by Karen Henley, author of The Beginner's Bible. This is a year long daily event that is similar to a devotional book. It goes from January 1 through December 31. Don't be discouraged by the title; this is not just for kids! Written in story format and in chronological order, this version of the Bible covers the big story from Genesis through Revelation. Each daily reading will include discussion for encouragement about how the day's reading can be applied in YOUR life and sharing how God is using the readings in MY life.
