The Villanova University football teams is two wins away from a national championship. The 12-2 Wildcats have advanced to the national semifinals of the FCS playoffs where they will host Illinois State on Saturday night at 7:30pm at Villanova Stadium. The Wildcats have defeated Harvard (52-7), Lehigh (14-7) and Tarleton State (26-21) to this point, winning the last two games on the road. Illinois State is 11-4 and the Redbirds have won all three of their playoff games on the road. The inner of this game will play the winner of Montana/Montana State for the national title on January 5th in Nashville, Tennessee. John "Hench" Murray has served as the radio analyst for football broadcasts at his alma mater the University of Pennsylvania for 44 seasons. He has shared the booth with several well known Philadelphia play-by-play voices (including Merrill Reese) and has well over 400 Penn broadcasts to his credit. Gary Williams was one of the greatest college basketball coaches in history. The Collingswood, New Jersey native won 668 games in 33 years as a college head coach at American, Boston College, Ohio State and Maryland. He is probably best known for his 22-year run at his alma mater the University of Maryland where he led the Terrapins to back-to-back Final Fours and the 2002 National Championship. The University of Pennsylvania football team is coming off a frustrating 2024 campaign which saw the Quakers finish 4-6 (2-5 in the Ivy League). Penn has a lot of talent returning from last year, however, as they look to take a big step forward in 2025. Matt Leon sat down with Penn head coach Ray Priore to learn more about his team and his hopes for this season. The Quakers open their 2025 season on Saturday, September 20th, on the road at Stonehill College. That game in Easton, Massachusetts will start at 1:00 p.m.

In this college football preview we focus on the Villanova Wildcats of FCS. Villanova went 10-4 a season ago (6-2 CAA) and advanced to the second round of the playoffs. This will be Villanova's final season as a member of the Colonial Athletic Association as in 2026 the Wildcats jump to the Patriot League. Matt Leon spoke with Villanova head coach Mark Ferrante to get some insight into the 2025 Wildcats. Villanova will open its season on Saturday, September 6th at home against Colgate. The focus is on the Delaware Valley University Aggies out of Doylestown in this college football preview. The Aggies had a very good 2024 campaign, finishing 8-3 (7-2 in the Middle Atlantic Conference) and taking part in the Centennial-MAC Bowl Series. Matt Leon spoke with second-year DelVal head coach, Mike Isgro, to get his thoughts on what 2025 will hold for his team. DelVal opens its season at home on Saturday September 6th, taking on Hampden-Sydney College at noon.
