From a mainstream school to a principal across countries

Tutu is the principal at Tecnis Academy, a tutoring school which provides tuition for children between the ages of 2 to 18. Most of the learning is achieved virtually with just under 2000 children across 10 countries.

Before this, Tutu was working in a mainstream school (as well as tutoring on the side). Tutu also has a young daughter who at the time of her mainstream job was ill, so Tutu needed to take time off to care for her. This is where the idea was formed.

Tutoring allowed Tutu to stay in her field of passion whilst caring for her daughter, but it also gave her the freedom to work when it suited her and her daughter's needs. In the early days of building her business, Tutu remained a substitute teacher until the day came when she knew it was time to take the leap.

It was so interesting to meet Tutu and hear her story — it is definitely not one to be missed.

Financial advisor — it all started with a BMW

In today's episode we meet Harmy Bains who is a trained and chartered financial advisor.

Harmy talks to us about how he specialises in investment from his personal background, he refers to being a financial advisor as being something like “a gp”.

When Harmy worked in investment management Harmy wanted to be more client facing rather than in the background so he decided to throw himself in the deep end to see if it was something he was capable of doing.

He did all his qualifications as an investment manager which took him to a decent level of qualifications but in order for him to transition over to financial advisor he had to pick up “gap fill stuff” to then become chartered. Harmy said it took him about ten years to become chartered.

Harmy says his interest was sparked when he was 12, due to his aunt getting married to an accountant and he drove a BMW M3, and that made Harmy want that.

It was such a pleasure speaking with Harmy and hearing his story.

From a boy's dream to a bodybuilder's passion

In today’s podcast we meet Zac Leason, founder and personal trainer of Team Lionheart LTD. Zac has always had a passion for sport and after several injuries he had to give up his hopes of becoming an Olympian or professional footballer.

This was when he decided to get into the gym and make himself ‘the best version of him’.

Whilst working at Tesco’s, 19-year-old Zac found that the gym was basically his life, he was helping friends achieve their own goals and one manager decided to question Zac on everything he was doing. This was when he knew! It made him happy, and he had a passion for helping others.

With the fear of Tesco becoming Zac’s life, he wanted to start his own business in personal training and online coaching.

While on a weekend away Zac got into a conversation about starting his own business and in 2015 Zac launched Lionheart, since then he has helped hundreds of individuals achieve their training goals whether it be lifestyle or bodybuilding clients. Through doing this he has helped his client win a substantial number of awards with clients worldwide.

It is not one to be missed!
