Episode description

In this episode, I share my experience and thoughts on shedding the old fear and trauma based identity and the challenges and grief that comes with embracing the new.

Those of you who are healing from complex trauma, severe mental illness and disorders and intentionally performing deep shadow work may resonate with this episode.

I get a lot more candid about my upbringing and how it’s shaped every part of my “personality” and how ugly and raw the healing process can actually be.

I’m so proud of how far I’ve come despite recognizing there are still, and likely will always be, things to heal and improve.

I hope others on this journey remember you are not alone and your past does not have to define your future.

Sending you all love this New Year and beyond! 💗

Episode description

In this episode, I dive into the unexpected challenges that can arise when we finally begin to learn how to recognize our worth. I touch on themes related to recognizing toxic patterns in yourself and in others, navigating other’s projections, and learning to set boundaries while still allowing yourself to be open to new connections.

I also touch on what this process has been for me as someone unlearning codependency and anxious attachment and how I’m becoming my own “favorite person”.

I hope sharing my experiences helps others who may be struggling remember they aren’t alone in this. There are others out there who understand and healing is ALWAYS possible.

EP. 85 - HEALING CORE ABANDONMENT WOUNDS

DISCLAIMER: This podcast is not a substitute for professional mental health and/or medical help. Everything shared here is from my lived experience as someone previously diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Depression, and Complex Trauma (CPTSD). This podcast may contain triggering themes related to childhood trauma and abuse.

This episode focuses on the challenge of healing core abandonment wounds. I touch on why we often chase, fixate and fall into traps of limerence and co-dependency in relationships as a result of deep core abandonment wounds.

Often rooted in childhood trauma, abandonment wounds often show up in our relationships (not just romantic but all relationships). We either learn to chase and try to force “love” or we become avoidant and afraid to let people get too close for fear they may eventually leave.

I hope sharing my experiences helps others who may be struggling remember they aren’t alone in this. There are others out there who understand and healing is ALWAYS possible.

EP. 82 - STOP BEING POLITE | POLITE CULTURE, BOUNDARIES & HEALING

In this episode I touch on why I’ve removed myself completely from “polite culture” and why I feel it’s detrimental for our healing journey long-term. I go into the difference between being “polite” and being a sincerely kind and caring person and how sometimes being the best version of yourself actually requires you to challenge yourself and others. I dive into ways I’m learning to channel my catalyst and disruptive energy for personal growth and healing and why I think we should learn to lean into these parts of ourselves (in healthy not harmful ways of course).

I talk a lot about how culturally we’ve become too accustomed to group think and do not have tolerance for those who challenge our thoughts and beliefs. I also talk about why it is important to learn to work through our triggers (once our nervous systems are regulated enough of course) rather than avoiding them and risk projecting our fears into our relationships. If this episode resonates I hope you subscribe and connect with me on social media.

Be well!

Hope is way more than wishful thinking or bypassing, it’s resistance and it’s necessary to help us envision what collective liberation truly looks like. In this episode, I discuss how holding hope can be an act of courage and rebellion during your hardest seasons.

EP. 76 - LETTING GO IS HARD | LEARNING TO SURRENDER

This episode is a bit of a rant about the challenges of learning how to let go but also how important learning to surrender is as part of the healing journey. Once you heal enough to learn how to choose yourself, knowing when to let go and surrender is pivotal but it is NOT easy and not enough people talk about how painful and challenging it can be.

This episode is designed for those who have struggled with using control as a coping mechanism or have historically had trouble letting go of people, places and patterns that no longer align causing many of us to settle, sometimes unknowingly because we convince ourselves it’s what we want when really we’ve just become comfortable in it. Change is hard. Let’s crash out, heal and evolve together.

As a reminder, I am in the process of creating offerings and building community for my fellow heart-led folks who are looking for deeper connections and aligned communities. Stay tuned for more on this soon! Tap in💗

EP. 74 - SURVIVING SA & NAVIGATING THE EPSTEIN NEWS CYCLE

**TRIGGER WARNING** This video/podcast episode discusses sexual assault, sexual abuse, childhood sexual abuse. If you are in a crisis please skip!

This episode was very hard for me and I apologize in advance if it’s a bit hard to follow as I was disassociated for a lot of it. I meant to share more but it’s hard for me to share in depth about my sexual trauma. I’m sharing my thoughts, feelings and experiences in hopes that other survivors of sexual assault or abuse know that they are not alone.

Currently the news cycle is riddled with stories about Epstein and the stories of victims are not being centered. This is a very triggering time for anyone who has experienced sexual abuse and I want you to know that prioritizing self care and finding support is SO important right now. I really hope this feels like a safe space for those of you on this healing journey with me.

As a reminder, I am in the process of creating offerings and building community for my fellow heart-led folks who are looking for deeper connections and aligned communities. Stay tuned for more on this soon! Tap in💗

EP. 73 - STOP PERFORMING | IT'S OKAY TO BE ANGRY RIGHT NOW

In this episode I get very real about the heavy emotions coming up at this time. I know a lot of people are struggling both personally and collectively and I encourage us all to drop the mask and get real about what we feel so that we can find our people and get the support we need to move forward.

Mid-way through the podcast episode I experience mood swings and I felt it was important to not omit those parts because I want to show the reality of life with BPD and complex trauma. I’m honestly proud of how far I’ve come in this journey. My episodes used to be significantly worse and now I can snap back into stability more quickly than I’ve ever been able to in the past. A reminder that healing isn’t linear but it is possible. Sending love to everyone struggling at this time! You are not alone.

In this episode I share raw life updates and encouragement for those who feel they are at a threshold of who they once were versus who they’re becoming. We are all collectively going through a massive transformation and it’s not easy to let go of what no longer resonates whether that be karmic relationships, unfulfilling career dynamics, or old limiting beliefs. Surviving and Thriving: A Podcast About Life, Mental Health, & Personal Growth
EP. 69 - HEALING CORE WOUNDS | UNLEARNING MY HATRED FOR MEN

This episode may be triggering or include sensitive topics like childhood trauma and abuse. I get very honest about my disdain for men stemming from childhood trauma and how it’s impacted my relationship with myself and men as a whole. I am actively unlearning and reprogramming my mind to adapt more loving and empathetic viewpoints toward men but to say this is a process and I struggle A LOT with this would be a massive understatement. This is not coming from the perspective of someone who has overcome this rather someone who recognizes the pattern and acknowledges where something needs to shift within myself. This is in NO WAY condoning or denying the significant harm and abuse many women go through at the hands of man but instead offering solace to those who may also struggle with this and want to find a healthier way to be in community with ALL human beings. If you found this I’m glad you’re here and I’m sending you love. 💗
