So far, we’ve covered a lot of ground in this Enneagram miniseries. Today, we are talking about the Head Triad, which includes Types 5, 6, and 7. We also have a special guest joining us. Her name is Liana Dobbs and she's a Type 6.
As we’ve talked about before, each Enneagram type seeks to validate themself in different ways. Triads split the nine Enneagram types into three sections based on their underlying emotions and go-to decision-making style, specifically in times of stress.
Of course, all Enneagram types can relate to all three triads, and part of the theory behind the Enneagram is that all nine types dwell within us. However, one is our natural “go-to,” or core personality type, and which Enneagram triad you belong to can tell you a lot about how you filter your everyday experiences.
Understanding what the Triads mean gives you a deeper insight into each Enneagram type and how they interconnect. Each of the nine types is placed into one of three Enneagram "triads"or "centers of intelligence": the Instinctive Center, the Feeling Center and the Thinking Center. These are the different ways human beings perceive their experiences and their dominant emotions such as shame, fear, and anger.
What is exciting about how the Triads connect to us here at The COMO Group is that Sonal, Christine, and I are all in the same triad. We spoke about the "Heart Triad" in our previous episode.

Topics: Enneagram, The Nine Types of Personality, Personal Transformation
In our first episode, we introduced some of the big ideas of the Enneagram. The Enneagram is mostly used for personal self-knowledge and personality development, offering a powerful tool for better understanding your core motivations and applying that knowledge to all areas of your life, including conflict resolution, team dynamics, leadership and emotional intelligence.
In the previous episodes, Christine and Jacob covered the 9 types of leadership and then Sonal and Jacob focuses on the 9 types at work. They shared insights about each types’ communication style, ideal work environment, and common professions and industries each type leans toward.
In this bite-sized episode, Jacob briefly covers Enneagram Type Integration & Disintegration, also talked about as Stress and Security Numbers. In simple terms, each Enneagram type disintegrates into another type, taking on the qualities of the other in times of stress and security.
Your "Stress Number" is the number-type your personality moves toward when you are overwhelmed, or under fire. Meanwhile, your “Security Number” can refer to the number-type your personality moves toward when you are in a good place and safe or satisfied.
It’s important to note that the Enneagram is just a tool in the toolkit of transformation. We personally think it is exciting to see how many business leaders are turning to the Enneagram to learn more about their employees and how to best equip them for success. In an office setting, these insights can explain why some collaborators need more time to process information than others, or why some employees find it difficult to speak up. Co-workers who possess Enneagram knowledge understand each other’s intentions, which can go a long way in resolving conflict, or even preventing it, and supervisors can task employees in a way that sets them up for success.
