Where do we start? It is the year 2021 and Nigerian government woke up and banned Twitter (developing story). A country of 200 million people, a country where 1 in every 5 persons has a twitter account, a country that garnered a huge technologically boom in the last 6 years and a tech serving as a major source of income for many young Nigerians.
We deliberate on this, voice our frustrations, and try to think of the way forward like everyday people.
Tune in, connect with us and please keep talking, keep spreading the word on all the ills happenings in the country and the continent.
P.S please share our podcast and drop a review.
Much love
The Untangled Team
In this episode, we discuss Men and Grief (or the lack of). Why do men bottle up certain emotions and feelings (like grief), what is the effect of this and how does grief which was never acknowledged show up in other spheres of life? What support system do men have?
We are joined by a guest, Oshiokhia, who alongside, Tonye, both share their personal experiences with loss and grief.
We hold space and acknowledge all that may be experiencing or navigating grief. Much love to you all.
Listen in.
We are back people!!!! We have been on both voluntary and involuntary hiatus and we are super excited to be back with a new episode of the podcast. In this episode, we banter about being away for so long, Yems having one million exams, Tonye growing a beard, and Michael... (not sure what was said about him haha). Somehow the conversation went to Long Distance relationships which is a topic we had penned down to explore in the past. So enjoy our banter and random conversations.
Light and Vibes

Prejudice and discrimination based on skin tone is a global issue - one that we are still reeling from its cruel legacy. However when this prejudice is predicated by people from the same ethnic or racial group its an equally bitter and spiteful pill to swallow. Colourism is the bastard grandchild of racism. People looking to elevate their social status or hoping to ascribe to supposed beauty standards of society go to extreme lengths to achieve that status. Bleaching creams and other products abound to help attain a lighter tone. This behaviour is not provoked out of thin air, but its propagated by a certain societal mindset that has driven others to pursue a change of their natural skin colour. Is it good or bad? What are the short and long term mental effects? How does it affect one's identity? Grab a drink, get your views ready and join us this Sunday as we seek to get to the root of this condition.

Untangled Unscripted is a version of the podcast that emanated from the team's Random acts of "chattiness".
Picture yourself having random conversations with your fun and interesting friends while wearing your pajamas and having a glass of your favorite drink. Yep. Basically like that.
We will chat about our day, bloops during the recordings, past fun memories, tease each other, and see where the conversation flows to.. who knows it may even spin into serious topics.
In the spirit of this being unscripted, we promise NOT to have structured times for dropping this.. we do however promise to let you know when we do post the Unscripted podcast.
Enjoy the first episode with our cohosts Kunbi and Uche where they explored the mind of Donald Trump.
If laughter is the best medicine and marijuana makes you laugh, is Marijuana the Best medicine?
Quick joke about Marijuana! Weed! 420! Call it what you may,, but we all know the happy HEMP plant that has caused controversy for years.
Is it safe to use recreationally?
Does it give you limitless creative powers?
Is this a revolutionary drug that can replace medical depressants and pain management drugs?
The biggest of all; is the conspiracy true about big Pharma suppressing the legalization of the plant?.
If this plant is truly the evilest drug other than the deadly nightshade, then how come most states in the US and some countries have not only legalized its use but also celebrated its benefits?
Two interesting friends joined the Untangled team to breakdown the composition of the plant, different people's experiences when they tried it, and the root of its stigmatization. Happy listening!!

In bringing back the second season of Untangled, we decided to address an issue that affects us all. Classism: the prejudice FOR or Against people of a certain class/ economic status. So why talk about classism, because it is a social pattern which in many ways is comparable to other forms of oppression such as racism, sexism and because it ultimately divides us. We explore how classism affects each class and us as a collective.
The Untangled Instagram live session close its very first season. Its been a great 3 months of curating content to keep the conversations going.

While the Untangled team was spitballing on possible topics for the Instagram live show, Michael mentioned how some of our jokes, stand up comedy, comedic skits and “funny” movie scenes can be a tad insensitive. Don't get it confused though….there is so much great content out there now. But we couldn't help but untangle why we still have the same old Warri jokes, jokes that target the handicapable, perpetuate a negative stereotype about specific ethnic groups (think the 'Obong' & househelp jokes) and promoteS sexual harassment. This episode of the podcast UNTANGLES why our comedy should be evolving to inspire political, economic, and social change.

We all know those telltale signs of being in a compromising “relationship”, where we lose ourselves in an unconscious merging through sexuality. Some call it a Situationship, Love triangle, an affair; but Jada Pinkett Smith calls it an “ENTANGLEMENT”. The internet is going crazy right now over this new buzzword and on this special episode of the Podcast, we explore the Jada, Will, and August entanglement along with a special guest Ayo Shittu.
Look out for the opinions about how this would have played out if gender roles were reversed. Enjoy.

If you watch African movies, you may have seen some of those African movies where Good (Modern Religion) saves the day against Evil (The medicine man with black clothes, calabashes, and cowries). The media, Religious organizations, and public opinion, cements the idea that African spirituality is a taboo. What this EPISODE is not: An endorsement or condemnation of any form of spirituality or Religion. What this EPISODE is: Understanding how African spirituality worked for people in the past, why wisdom from some of the practices hold true till today, and why one Spirituality or Religion should not aim to cancel out the other.
No matter your religious/spiritual beliefs we explore this topic from a clean and educational point of view so you wouldn't want to miss this.

In this episode, the team and other guests Untangle how Africa still allows her public spaces and mindsets to be littered with names and imprints of her colonizers. We explore what it means to still have a colonial mindset, ways in which we are still honoring that part of history, and the importance of rewriting that history to reflect our autonomy.
We have a couple of interesting people who contributed strong points on this topic in the aftershow, which we will plugin.
Enjoy!

In the wake of massive protests around the world to end every form of racism, this episode features the Aftershow conversation with Ladell Robbins (our African American co-host), the untangled team, and our guests about systemic racism. We untangle the covert and overt ways in which it plays out as a normal practice in the society through systems like the criminal justice system, employment, media, and housing.
Ladell also helped us understand why ALL should be educated about this issue that affects humanity and how people can check their own biases against other black people.
This is one episode you wouldn't want to miss.
