Vital signs are things that determine how healthy our walk with God is, and they consist of prayer, fasting, giving, evangelism, e.t.c
When it comes to fasting, it is the willful abstinence from physical pleasure for spiritual purposes.
We fast so that we can strengthen our focus on God. Job 23:12 and Hebrews 12 remind us that fasting helps us to fix our gaze on God. The goal of fasting is to realign our priorities and redirect our attention to God, not to impress people or seek human recognition.
In this teaching, we were taught that we fast for various reasons some of which includes the facts that fasting amplifies our prayer and Bible study life, creating space for deeper intimacy with God. Fasting also helps us develop spiritual discipline; it strengthens our spirit to have authority over our flesh. Finally, fasting is an act of obedience to God’s word.
Fasting is not only about abstaining from food; it can also involve refraining from anything that distracts us from God and its goal is not to punish the body but to train it to submit to the Spirit.

The Good Shepherd
Divine leading is one of the core courses for the believer and it is very important for the fulfilment of purpose.
Methods by which God leads us
1. Through His word: the word of God is the standard way by which He leads us. We judge prophesies, visions and sights by the word of God.
2. Through the inward witness: 1 Corinthians 6:17
The inward witness comes as nudges and this is possible because our reborn spirit and Holy Spirit are now one.
3. Through the still small voice: also known as the inward voice. It is the voice of our reborn spirit. Ezekiel 36:26; 1Kings 19:12
4. Through the audible voice: 1 Samuel 3; Acts19: 11
An audible voice is more like someone talking to you from outside.
LEADING SEEKS YOU
Divine leading is a supernatural occurrence where God takes from his infinite wisdom and knowledge to order our steps either knowingly or unknowingly to lead us in line to His will for our lives and our walk in purpose.
4 tHINGS TO KNOW ABOUT GOD AND HIS LEADING
1. God spoke to people who were mot listening or searching for Him. Daniel 2.45, Genesis 2.9, Exodus 3. 4-5
2. God can give instructions, confirmations and clarity if you ask. Exodus 3. 14-15, 1 Samuel 23. 1-4
3. God can go the extramile to convince you. Acts 10. 1-15
4. God is a patient guide. 1 Samuel 3.1-10
Divine leading is the birth right of every believer in this month we delve this into this topic.
Unveiling Christ Conference
At Unveiling Christ Conference Ogbomoso we learnt that the believer’s advantage is the sovereignty of God.
We learnt that the sovereignty of God and man’s free will are together.
About the sovereignty of God:
1. God is self sustaining. He doesn’t need any external force or power to sustain him
2. God does not need your opinion or permission to do what He wants to do i.e God will do what he wants to do regardless of whether you agree or not.
Nothing Catches God off guard our own part is to align with what God is doing. The believer is never at a disadvantage.
For the believer the sovereignty of God is one thing we can always trust. There is no loss for the believer
