Letting Go to Move Forward: My 2026 Intention and the Unexpected Lessons of Surrender

In today’s episode, I share how I unexpectedly (and a little unwillingly) chose my intention for 2026. Or rather, how it chose me.

From being proud of the intention I originally set and ready to put it in motion, to an intimate conversation that changed everything, all the way to the split-second decision to throw my intention out into the universe, this is the story you need whether you have already set an intention for the year or are still trying to decide.

You Can Do It: The Podcast for Neurodivergent Adults, Deep Creatives, and Out-of-the-Box Thinkers
Soup, Surrender, and Starting 2026 with Purpose

In this first episode of 2026, I invite you into a few of my cozy New Year’s Day traditions: pajamas, family, homemade soups, and a lively Dungeons & Dragons session, before I dive into the heart of today’s conversation: setting your intention for the year ahead.

As the “Twixtmas” (my new favorite word!) haze lifts and life begins to reset, I break down why resolutions often fail and how choosing an intention or “word of the year” creates a more compassionate, flexible, and growth‑centered foundation. I also share the key differences between resolutions and intentions, why intentions support true thriving, and how to choose an intention that aligns with who you’re becoming.

You’ll learn about my own journey with intention-setting, which was born at the start of 2021 from a need to restore balance in my life in the aftermath of the COVID pandemic of 2020. It’s something I now do at the beginning of each year, with my 2025 intention of “Growth” leading to such an unexpected shift that I hadn’t even imagined a year ago. At the end, you’ll even find out what my intention for 2026 is, and I promise it’s a doozy! This intention gives me just the right mix of excitement and discomfort that I know will support continued growth in my personal and professional life - which is exactly what I want for you.

Whether you’re still reflecting on 2025 or ready to step boldly into the new year, this episode will help you ground your energy, focus your mindset, and start 2026 with purpose.

From Lasagnas to Life Lessons: A Guided Year-End Reflection to Step Confidently into 2026

In this final episode of 2026, I’m inviting you into a cozy year-end reflection that starts with three lasagnas, family traditions, and a whole lot of gratitude.

As Christmas passes, Hanukkah wraps, and the winter solstice settles in, I’m sharing the stories, celebrations, and even a little Bears playoff excitement that shaped this week.

I also reflect on why I chose to keep releasing episodes through the holidays this year and how that decision aligns with my commitment to thriving, not just surviving.

Together, we’ll walk through three powerful reflection questions that are aligned with our recent conversations about Thriving. These three questions are designed to help you notice your growth, honor your proudest moments, and step into 2026 with clarity and intention.

This episode is both a summary of and reminder that thriving is about progress, presence, and paying attention to who you are becoming.

I also can’t wait to share what’s coming in January, but for now, let’s close out this year with purpose, gratitude, and a whole lot of heart. Thriving, not just surviving.

Are you ready to step into 2026 with confidence?

Let’s take the first step towards clarity together.

Slow Steps, Strong Wins: Why the Tortoise Mindset Helps You Thrive

In this episode, we continue in our “Thrive” series as we break down why slow, steady progress is not just okay. It's powerful.

Using the childhood classic story of The Tortoise & the Hare along with real-world lessons learned from marathon running, we talk about moving through life at your own pace, and not at the pace of those around you.

You’ll hear why small steps count, how to avoid burnout, and what to do when you hit “the wall.”

Think of this episode as a reminder that your brain, your path, and your timing are valid. Slow steps are still strong wins, especially for neurodivergent thinkers building a life that actually fits them.

Finally Seen: How an ADHD Diagnosis Rewrote My Daughter's Story

In this deeply personal episode, I welcome my daughter Jenna as my very special guest to share her emotional journey of growing up misdiagnosed and misunderstood.

From early struggles in school to years of confusion and frustration, her story sheds light on the hidden challenges many neurodivergent individuals face - especially generations of women who were misdiagnosed due to a false narrative that only boys had ADHD.

It wasn’t until the beginning of this year that Jenna received her ADHD diagnosis which has brought clarity, validation, and a new sense of self.

Together, we explore how being “finally seen” has transformed Jenna’s confidence, relationships, and daily life.

This candid conversation offers hope, insight, and a powerful reminder that it’s never too late to understand your brain and embrace your truth.

In this episode, I share heartfelt stories about family, friendship, and the evolving understanding of ADHD, especially for women diagnosed later in life. I explore two often-overlooked aspects of ADHD: Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD) and Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), explaining how they shape relationships, parenting, and self-acceptance.

Why ADHD Isn’t Actually Rising (We’re Just Finally Seeing It)

In this episode, I explore the growing curiosity around the rise in ADHD diagnoses, especially among adults and women. Using the powerful metaphor of Galileo’s stars, I reframe the conversation: it’s not that ADHD is suddenly more common; it’s that we’ve finally developed the tools, language, and awareness to recognize it.

From shifts in pediatric care and education to the impact of social media and self-discovery, I unpack why so many are now finding clarity and connection through diagnosis. I also share personal insights from my work as a coach and educator, highlighting the relief and empowerment that come from understanding how differently wired brains truly work.

Begin With the End in Mind: Using Fall to Reclaim Your Goals and Direction

In this cozy yet powerful episode, I dive into the magic of fall. I’m not just talking about pumpkin spice lattes, but the deeper invitation this season offers for reflection and reset.

Using the metaphor of GPS navigation, I explore why knowing both your destination and your current location is essential for personal growth and provide you with the three questions you need to guide your reflection process.

I also share my own story of revising a long-held running goal and how setbacks like injury don’t mean failure but are opportunities to build resilience.

NeuroAutonomy in Action: Coaching That Honors the Brain You’ve Got

In this empowering episode, I sit down with Genie Love, a fellow neurodiversity coach, business consultant, and creator of the NeuroAutonomy Method.

Similarly to my path, Genie spent over two decades as a Special Education Teacher before embarking on her coaching and consulting career. She now helps late-identified adults with ADHD and autism stop masking and start thriving in their careers, relationships, and everyday lives.

Listen as Genie shares her journey from classroom to coaching, the systems that actually work for neurodivergent brains, and the advice that’s shaped her path.

Whether you're newly diagnosed or simply seeking more authentic ways to show up, this conversation offers practical wisdom and heartfelt encouragement.

Weeds, Work, and What Comes Next: Navigating Your Mid-Career Awakening

In this week’s episode, I invite you to explore the emotional terrain of a mid-career awakening through the metaphor of weeding - both literal and mental.

From my teenage years spent pulling weeds in Florida to my recent volunteer work in Chicago’s South Loop, I share how this simple act  has become a powerful tool for clarity, healing, and dreaming beyond survival.

I unpack how internalized expectations, overcommitment, and outdated systems can quietly take root in our lives, choking out creativity and joy.

If you’re a neurodivergent adult, creative, out-of-the-box thinker or simply someone craving a more soul-centered balance, this episode offers both reflection and actionable insight. Tune in to learn how nature therapy and intentional “mental weeding” can help you reclaim space for your Next.

Also, don’t forget to share your own clarity moments by commenting on the show, sending me an email, or dropping me a DM as we grow our community together.

You Can Do It: The Podcast for Neurodivergent Adults, Deep Creatives, and Out-of-the-Box Thinkers
Chicago Summers, Moma Adventures, and Why Work-Life Balance Is a Lie

In this episode, I share how trading summer school for soul-nourishing adventures - from road trips down Route 66 to soaking up the magic of Chicago summers - helped me redefine what balance looked like for me.

As the back-to-school season ramps up, I also challenge the myth of “work-life balance” and introduce my powerful 3-legged framework that empowers you to take control of creating a well-balanced life.

Regardless of your current life stage, this episode will help you rethink your priorities, reconnect with your passions, and protect your energy from burnout.

Tune in to learn why balance starts with you, not your calendar.
