    Geoeconomic Competition
    Francesca Ghiretti
    On 5 November, the Supreme Court of the United States heard oral argument on the use of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) by Donald Trump to impose sweeping tariffs. The decision, which is expected in the next few months, will determine the future of both Fentanyl tariffs as well as Liberation Day tariffs. The decision, however, will have much wider and deeper implications for Trump's wider approach to trade as well as the functioning of check and balances in the United ...

    Clearer Thinking with Spencer Greenberg
    Spencer Greenberg
    Clearer Thinking is a podcast about ideas that truly matter. If you enjoy learning about powerful, practical concepts and frameworks, wish you had more deep, intellectual conversations in your life, or are looking for non-BS self-improvement, then we think you'll love this podcast! Each week we invite a brilliant guest to bring four important ideas to discuss for an in-depth conversation. Topics include psychology, society, behavior change, philosophy, science, artificial intelligence, math, economics, self-help, mental health, and technology. We focus on ideas that can be applied right now to make your life better or to help you better understand yourself and the world, aiming to teach you the best mental tools to enhance your learning, self-improvement efforts, and decision-making. • We take on important, thorny questions like: • What's the best way to help a friend or loved one going through a difficult time? How can we make our worldviews more accurate? How can we hone the accuracy of our thinking? What are the advantages of using our "gut" to make decisions? And when should we expect careful, analytical reflection to be more effective? Why do societies sometimes collapse? And what can we do to reduce the chance that ours collapses? Why is the world today so much worse than it could be? And what can we do to make it better? What are the good and bad parts of tradition? And are there more meaningful and ethical ways of carrying out important rituals, such as honoring the dead? How can we move beyond zero-sum, adversarial negotiations and create more positive-sum interactions?

    Welcome to Boring History to Sleep — the only show where falling asleep in the middle is not only allowed… it’s encouraged. Each episode takes you on a slow, uneventful stroll through the most yawn-worthy corners of the past: treaties nobody remembers, kings who ruled for three weeks, and revolutions that never really got started. Century Lives
    Stanford Center on Longevity
    It’s a well-known fact that women live longer than men. But less well known is the fact that women live a larger percentage of their lives in poor health than men do. In Century Lives: The 51%, we explore the failures that have contributed to women’s health disadvantage for centuries: shortcomings in healthcare, research, education, policy, and social norms alike. And we tell the stories of the visionary leaders, doctors, and innovators working to level the playing field today.

    The Mediation Table
    Αρετή Περδικομάτη, Φιλιώ Κωνσταντινίδη, Φοίβος Ξενάκης.

    Διαμεσολάβηση;

    Για τις συγκρούσεις, τα προβλήματα και τις διαφορές, στην ελληνική κοινωνία η προσφυγή στα Δικαστήρια παρέμενε για χρόνια μονόδρομος. Στο τραπέζι της Διαμεσολάβησης μαθαίνουμε μαζί: 1) για τον διαμεσολαβητικό τρόπο επίλυσης συγκρούσεων, προβλημάτων και διαφορών υπό ευρεία έννοια (όχι μόνο των σχετικών με τον Νόμο), 2) για τους ουδέτερους τρίτους, τις διαμεσολαβήτριες και τους διαμεσολαβητές. Δεν είναι απλώς ένας εναλλακτικός θεσμός για να επιλύσουν τα εμπλεκόμενα μέρη τη διαφορά τους. Επαναφέρει την εποικοδομητική επικοινωνία των ανθρώπων, σχετίζεται με την αποκατάσταση, τη συνεργασία. Στη διαμεσολάβηση δεν επαναλαμβάνουμε όσα μας έφεραν σε μια προβληματική κατάσταση. Παύουμε να βλέπουμε τις συγκρούσεις μόνο από την οπτική του «κόστους», βλέπουμε και την οπτική της «ευκαιρίας». Η τέχνη της «μετακίνησης» από το αρχικό σημείο σε ένα άλλο είναι το κλειδί της προόδου στην επίλυση των συγκρούσεων. Γι’ αυτό, ανεξαρτήτως των αρχικών θέσεών μας, διερευνούμε τις πραγματικές μας ανάγκες και κατανοούμε τα βαθύτερα συμφέροντά μας (τι χρειαζόμαστε και γιατί το χρειαζόμαστε;). Ακουγόμαστε αλλά και ακούμε. Στο ασφαλές κι εμπιστευτικό περιβάλλον των επανορθωτικών διαδρομών της διαμεσολάβησης επινοούμε καινούριες επιλογές, για να προχωρήσουμε στις ζωές μας με βιώσιμες λύσεις.

    Δεν παραχωρούμε την ευθύνη αυτή σε άλλους, την αναλαμβάνουμε οι ίδιοι για να ικανοποιηθούμε στον μέγιστο δυνατό βαθμό από το αποτέλεσμα. Πώς το κάνουμε αυτό; Με τη βοήθεια των διαμεσολαβητών, των υποστηρικτών μας στο ταξίδι αυτό, οι οποίοι εκπαιδεύονται διά βίου στην εφαρμογή των δεξιοτήτων και των τεχνικών που διευκολύνουν την προσπάθειά μας. Στο τραπέζι της διαμεσολάβησης «σερβίρουμε» μια άλλη κουλτούρα, επειδή, τελικά, η διαμεσολάβηση είναι διαφορετικός τρόπος αντίληψης της πραγματικότητας. Θα προσπαθούμε σε κάθε επεισόδιο να ανταποδίδουμε τον χρόνο και την προσοχή σας. Ίσως σας φέρουμε λίγο πιο κοντά μας, πιο κοντά στη διαμεσολαβητική οπτική της ζωής. Είναι το podcast “The Mediation Table” με την Αρετή Περδικομάτη, τη Φιλιώ Κωνσταντινίδη, τον Φοίβο Ξενάκη.
