En: The warm scent of coffee mingled with the moderate hustle and bustle of the winter streets of Ljubljana.
En: Snow gently fell outside the large windows of the café, which served as a shelter from the cold of winter in Ljubljana.
Sl: V tem prijetnem okolju je Matej, mlad, zvest, a včasih preveč impulziven, sedel nasproti svojemu najboljšemu prijatelju Jakobu.
En: In this cozy setting, Matej, young, loyal, but sometimes too impulsive, sat across from his best friend Jakob.
Sl: Jakob je bil sicer očarljiv in inteligenten, a skrivoma manipulativnim.
En: Jakob was charming and intelligent, yet secretly manipulative.
En: Between them lay something unspoken, heavy as the winter coat Matej wore.
Sl: Matej je globoko vdihnil in v zraku je bilo čutiti napetost.
En: Matej took a deep breath, and tension was palpable in the air.
Sl: "Zakaj, Jakob? Zakaj si to storil?" je vprašal, njegov glas je bil mešanica razočaranja in obupa.
En: "Why, Jakob? Why did you do it?" he asked, his voice a mix of disappointment and despair.
En: Jakob averted his gaze, his eyes searching for an escape from the stifling situation.
Sl: "Nisem jaz kriv, Matej. Saj veš, kako je bilo. Nisem imel izbire."
En: "It's not my fault, Matej. You know how it was. I had no choice."
Sl: Matejeve oči so se zožile.
En: Matej's eyes narrowed.
Sl: "Vsak ima izbiro. Izbiraš med nami in med tem, kar si naredil."
En: "Everyone has a choice. You choose between us and what you did."
En: Ana, a kind waitress who had known them both for months, stood by the counter, her heart beating anxiously.
Sl: Ni hotela izbrati strani, a videla je bolečino v Matejevih očeh.
En: She didn't want to take sides, but she saw the pain in Matej's eyes.
Sl: "Fantje," je začela, njen glas je bil tih, a odločen.
En: "Boys," she began, her voice soft but resolute.
En: "Maybe... maybe it's not the right time for a quarrel.
Sl: Poglejta, oba vaju poznam in oba sta mi mar."
En: Look, I know you both, and I care for both of you."
En: Matej looked at Ana, a spark of acknowledgment in his eyes, but he wasn't ready to give up.
En: "Ana, I should know the truth," he said.
En: In those moments of silence that followed, there was only the ticking of the clock and the voices of other guests conversing in the background.
Sl: "Matej," je Ana zbrala pogum in stopila bližje.
En: "Matej," Ana gathered her courage and stepped closer.
En: "You should know that Jakob wasn't the...
