139. Don't Marry The First Person You Date

Getting into Flight is a lot like dating—you don’t marry the first person you meet.

You go out, you learn what you want, what you don’t want, and what actually feels like the right fit. That’s exactly what ride-alongs are for.

Ride-alongs let you and flight companies get to know each other in a relaxed environment—long before a formal interview. You don’t want your first interaction to be the interview. You want them already bought into who you are prior to the interview.

The biggest mistake I see? Waiting until the 3-year mark and expecting to “marry” the first opening that appears. Most of those spots are already spoken for by people who started building relationships early.

In this episode, I break down why starting now—doing consistent ride-alongs and making connections—puts you at the top of the list instead of the bottom.

If Flight is your goal, don’t wait. Start now.

I’ll be covering this deeper in my next free training on Monday, January 12th @ 12:00 PST.

And if you’re ready to take action, come join The Flight Prep Academy. I’ll help you map out your plan and land your first ride-along this month.

And if you’re at the 2.5-year mark or more, let’s get you hired in the next couple of months.

138. Finding Joy In The Challenge

This episode is about learning how to stop waiting for motivation and start creating desire—on purpose.

Desire doesn’t just show up. You create it.

Through intention. Through clarity. Through deciding what you want and moving toward it anyway.

We talk about why everything starts with gratitude and pride in how far you’ve already come—and how beating yourself up, waiting to feel ready, or fearing what others will think keeps you stuck longer than necessary.

Inside this episode, I walk you through:

  • Why waiting for motivation delays momentum
  • The shift from “I don’t know” to “I have a plan”
  • How having a plan creates confidence—even in uncertainty
  • Exposing yourself to discomfort on purpose so it loses its power
  • Why chaotic moments are where clarity and skill are built
  • How finding joy in the challenge changes how you show up

We also talk about the importance of community and support, and why taking yourself seriously—especially when doubt shows up—is what allows you to play bigger.

I share why I’m allowing myself to stretch this year, not without fear, but with a deep desire to impact more healthcare workers and first responders. I have a new offer coming in March—stay tuned and join my email list to be the first to know.

And if Flight is your goal, this is your sign to stop waiting and start taking action. Inside The Flight Prep Academy, I’ll teach you how to secure a ride-along within your first month.

137. Leave Room For Magic

This episode is about letting go of control, releasing the need to know how, and learning to trust yourself as you move toward what you want.

So often we think the answer is doing more.

But the real work is asking: What do I need to believe about myself?

You can’t ask others to believe in you if you don’t believe in yourself first. That belief takes practice—especially if you’re used to being hard on yourself or pushing through with pressure.

In this episode, we talk about:

  • Carrying doubt and uncertainty with you while still taking action
  • Training your brain to think differently—on purpose
  • Anchoring into thoughts like “I’m doing it” and “It’s possible for me”
  • Shifting from pressure and self-criticism into trust, compassion, and belief
  • Leaving room for things to unfold in ways you couldn’t have planned

We also talk about honoring how far you’ve come, having compassion for the old version of you, and choosing a new way forward—one rooted in trust, desire, and impact.

136. Zach's Journey To Flight

Join me in this episode as I interview Zach, who just got hired as a Flight Nurse after being a nurse for five years, with three and a half of those in the ER.

Zach shares how having a mapped-out plan—and focusing on the actions that actually move you forward—was the key to getting hired into Flight in a shorter amount of time. Instead of doing more or spinning in overwhelm, he learned exactly where to put his energy to secure an interview and receive a flight offer at a base close to home.

We talk about how using the tools inside The Flight Prep Academy helped him stop overthinking, simplify his next steps, and take intentional action—even before he felt fully ready.

If you’ve been doing more but not seeing progress, this episode will show you why clarity and strategy matter more than effort.

135. Confidence in Uncertainty

In this episode, we’re talking about how to create confidence when you’re stepping into something you’ve never done before—especially Flight, or creating a new identity.

Most people look to their past for confidence, but true confidence comes from the future you’re pulled by. Big goals require you to think differently, act differently, and become someone new.

Inside the episode, I walk you through:

  • Why your past doesn’t define what’s possible
  • How to trust yourself in uncertainty
  • Why desire matters more than motivation
  • The emotions required to step into your next identity
  • Four steps to build internal confidence when the path ahead isn’t clear

You’ll get coaching questions to help you understand your values, listen to your intuition, and start showing up as the future version of you now.

If you know you want Flight, join us inside The Flight Prep Academy.

134. Begin Your Flight Journey Now

In this episode, I’m breaking down one of the biggest truths about getting into Flight Nursing:

Results begin when you begin.

You don’t wait to feel ready.

You don’t wait for motivation.

You create momentum by starting—even when it feels early.

And right after you decide?

The obstacles always show up.

This is where most people get stuck, confused, and stay in limbo.

The biggest mistake I see? Believing you need to wait:

  • Until you graduate
  • Until you finish orientation
  • Until you complete a cert or course
  • Or the biggest mistake of all… waiting until you have “enough experience” at the 3-year mark

By then, it’s too late.

That’s when you meet the people who already started years ago—doing ride alongs, making connections, building relationships, and getting on a company’s radar long before the job posting appears.

As soon as you know you want Flight, that’s when you map out your plan and begin.

And no—starting early doesn’t mean “more work.”

It actually simplifies everything.

Inside The Flight Prep Academy, I teach you exactly which actions matter, how to make them fit your life, and how to focus on the things Flight companies actually care about.

But none of it works until you start.

Just like you can’t take a manual car straight into 5th gear—you have to put it in first to build momentum.

Here are the thoughts I want you to practice:

Flight is possible for me to start working toward now.

I’m creating my future in Flight right now.

And yes… the controversial but true ones:

Flight nurses don’t wait for permission.

Flight nurses don’t wait to begin.

Waiting doesn’t get you closer.

Beginning does.

Flight is for the person who wants to push themselves, grow, and find out what they’re capable of—not because they don’t have any doubt, but because they take action despite it.

If that’s you, Flight is for you.

And the best time to start is now.

132. When Things Don’t Go As Planned

In this episode, I share why last year was one of the hardest years of my life and give you tools on how to navigate the middle.

Last year pushed me in ways I didn’t expect. I didn’t quit. I maintained. I did it sad, tired, and with uncomfortable emotions. And that’s the part most people skip: the middle.

Inside this episode, I’m teaching you how to handle that messy middle with more clarity, steadiness, and self-trust—so you don’t pull back, change the goal, or give up before you see the results. Listen in to find out how to navigate the messy middle when you want to quit.

This episode is about taking action before motivation shows up, holding steady when you miss your own expectations, and becoming the person who follows through even when it’s hard.

You don’t change the goal to feel better. You become the person who navigates the unknown confidently.

If you can learn to stay in the middle—the in-between where you don’t have the result yet—you can create anything you want.

This is exactly what I’m teaching inside The Shift Coaching Group.

131. Imposter Syndrome + Downregulation

🎧 Episode: Downregulation + Imposter Syndrome — How to Build Confidence and Calm Both In and Out of the Shift

This episode is a replay of two of my most impactful Instagram Lives—covering Downregulation and Imposter Syndrome, two things that affect nearly every healthcare worker and first responder.

We dive into why it’s so important to slow down after chaos, stop replaying your shifts in your head, and find calm without losing the drive that makes you great at what you do. You’ll understand why regulating your nervous system, releasing the constant “go” energy, and reconnecting to yourself matters both in and out of the shift.

Then, we move into Imposter Syndrome—why self-doubt shows up when you’re growing, and how you can still show up confidently and believe in your capability before you have the result.

These are the tools that help you stop overthinking, trust yourself, and step into the next level of confidence in your life and career.

Join us inside The Shift Coaching Group, where we’re learning to downregulate, build belief, and grow confidence that lasts—both in and out of the shift.

126. Belief Flight Plan

What would it take for you to get to Flight earlier than you thought possible? How do you believe in yourself, your abilities, and the process enough to make it happen?

In this episode, I break down how to create your Flight Belief Plan—a framework for building the mindset, confidence, and trust you need to navigate the journey to Flight Nursing.

We dive into questions like:

  • What are your beliefs about yourself once you’re in Flight?

  • What mindset will help you perform under pressure and trust your intuition, even when the answer isn’t clear?

Your Flight Belief Plan includes:
