We did it! We're here! It's the SEASON 4 FINALE!!
Yes, yes DON'T WORRY! We WILL be coming back for Season 5 in the New Year, and maybe a Bonus episode on the way before then ;)
While we're lining up our fabulous guests for this next season and already in the thick of the holiday season, today we talk about EMBRACING THE BREAK. How to keep our mind from spiraling as the industry slows down for the holidays and as we review our goals from this past year, and how to celebrate how far we've come, even if it's just existing in this moment and knowing we will forge ahead.
Of course we're no therapists, we're just sharing our thoughts on what has worked for us during personal and professional breaks, and since it's the finale episode... over a glass or two of wine.
If you want to see us for this episode (crazy I know)
visit (and follow) our YouTube Channel to view:

Disclaimer: This episode contains mention of assault and domestic abuse. Listener discretion is advised.
On the pod today, we have AURORA DE LUCIA, who has made over 1,000 episodes of television on shows that span across 33 networks. She’s worked for Jon Stewart, Ava DuVernay, LeBron James, Nancy Meyers, Will Smith… just to name a few. Aurora is an Emmys-voting member of the Television Academy, and a member of SAG-AFTRA, the Producers Guild, and the Editors Guild. She also holds a Masters degree in Creative Media & Technology from Berklee College of Music. In her personal life, she’s a certified rescue scuba diver and a multi-time ultra-marathoner.
In this episode we talk about her musical theatre origins to her first start in post by helping out her friend’s productions, to becoming an accomplished editor. We also cover how you broach the conversation of asking for a “bigger” title more suited to the role you played in the project, how to pivot as a multi-hyphenate after a successful career in one category, not to count yourself out before you even get the job, how to become an Emmy voting member, and how to rise above and persevere after personal lows.
We’re so thankful to Aurora for all her candor and vulnerability in talking with us about her journey and career throughout this episode.

Compton born and raised, SAG member for over two decades, and the embodiment of all the positive tips we’ve said on this podcast about building a lasting career as a creative, we have on the pod today Actress, Director, and Educator CHARLOTTE WILLIAMS ROBERTS!!
So much learning, so many giggles. One of our ABSOLUTE FAVORITE PEOPLE and the reason we met and Old Girls Entertainment became a thing is on the pod today, we talk with Charlotte all about her start in theatre through the Church as a PK (Pastor’s Kid), her first film that made her a SAG-AFTRA member at the age of 7, going to Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA), getting her BFA at CSUF (with Monique), being in the industry, and sharing her love for art with the younger generation.
We deep dive into all the multi-layers that have gone into her journey like how school can establish your work ethic and a foundation for other aspects of the industry other than acting, the importance of the business side of your artistry and some tips on how and where to learn that, moving from having a multitude of part time side jobs to the decision to teach full time in addition to her acting career, teaching vs. coaching, teaching connection for a new generation raised in technology, and her self-care routine that has been a game changer in her day… I know it’s a lot and there's even more! Not an educator or an actor? Don't worry, there are so many nuggets of information and great takeaways for anyone in the industry.
Follow Charlotte on Instagram at @CharTheActress, and stay up to date on her career on her website CharlotteWilliamsRoberts.com
Don't forget to also check out the audio book she performs in: “Descendants: We’re Alive, A Story of Survival” On Audible Season 2 out now and Season 3 coming this December!!!

You heard them back in Season 2, Episode 11 talk about their crowdfunding and pre-production journey, and today two of the producers from the Delicate Condition Web Series are back to tell us all about their Production and Post Production journey.
We talk about transitioning their crowdfunding campaign into what they needed for production, choosing a mentally manageable number for potential donators to understand, pivoting with the money you raised verses the money you wanted to raise, how Bailey navigated being first on the call sheet and the director, how they shot 8 episodes in 5 production days!!!, the common pitfall of a background actor, and film festival submission strategy for web series content… and so much more!!
(Btw I know, I know there are some sound things in this ep, but I promise they don’t last for long. Thanks for bearing with us!!)
Vocab word of the ep provided by the brilliant mind of Bailey Castle:
Alacrity: brisk and cheerful readiness. Which we will now be using all the time, because… what a great word.
ALSO CONGRATULATIONS TO ERIKA LEBBY…aka MRS. HAWTHORNE!!!! ON HER BETROTHAL!! The Old Girls wish you an eternity of love, happiness, and laughter with your new hubby.
AND since we recorded this episode, Erika’s short film FOLDED has been an Official 2025 Selection of the Burbank International Film Festival Festival and the Glendale International Film Festival Festival. So congrats on that too!!!

We feel it, and I bet you are feeling it too. The weight of the world is HEAVY right now. It's been heavy. Whenever we turn on the news, scroll on our phones, or literally engage with anyone, it feels like it's hard to keep your head above the onslaught of pain, destruction, and for lack of better words... bad vibes out there.
On top of the ups and downs of the entertainment industry, we are slogging through trying to make art in this day and age, and honey, it ain't easy. So how to we move forward? How to we still fulfill our creative selves when we feel unmotivated in it's outcome? That's what we, your Old Girls Jess & Mo, talk about on the pod today.
We are not therapists... or trained mental health professionals....by ANY means. We put this episode together because as artists, we often hold a light up to show, illuminate, or distract us from society, and it's really taking a toll mentally and emotionally for us personally to navigate. So we pose some coping strategies that have helped us move the needle personally and creativity to keep THE DREAM alive like...
- Framing your current “nothing” into something
- Making lists that actually serve you in a more inspirational and intentional way
- When to confide in whom to best serve and protect you in those low or vulnerable moments
If you have any other helpful tips, we'd LOVE to hear them and share with our community. Feel free to DM us on Instagram or TikTok, or send us an email at getsetpodcast@gmail.com

We have a special spooky guest with us this Halloween week; coming straight to us from Cobwebb Cottage in the UK is The West London Witch herself, REBECCA STRUZYNA!!!
Rebecca, or Becca as we know her to be, is an Actress, Musical Theatre teacher in London, and Creator of The West London Witch Podcast where real stories are shared about people's experiences with the spooky, strange, mysterious, and unexplained. Becca has had INSANE guests on her show including Chris McKinnell (Ed and Lorraine Warren's grandson from the infamous Annabelle Doll story), Brandon Alvis and Mustafa Gatollari from Ghost Hunters, Andrea Perron from the real Conjuring house, Mike Allen who was the actual reporter for "The Devil Made Me Do It" court case, and more! Though in the end Becca shares that some of her favorite moments come from the people who write in to tell about their own personal haunted experiences. No matter who the guest is, the goal is always a great story!
We talk the mind and technical hurtles of starting a podcast, creating a great and consistent show, and the differences between content for Social Media and sharing exclusive content for a growing fan base on a platform like Patreon. We also get into how to approach and sustain your physical and mental self during an audiobook recording, and how to prep for that feat as an actor.

We love and hate this … it’s NETWORKING!! So essential, so vital, and sometimes so fun! But definitely beneficial when you do it the “right” way. In this episode we cover networking in unusual places, or places you wouldn’t think you’d find people in your field, like your survival job, and yes, even the women’s bathroom. We discuss the power of networking horizontally, not just vertically, networking solo vs. networking with a partner, some financial work arounds and tips, what we think is the BIGGEST waste of time at networking events, and our favorite advice from none other than the queen herself, Taylor Alison Swift. We get into the good, the bad, and the ugly of networking events, but provide tools to help you make the most of them at any level of your career.
It’s no surprise that other than on set, our favorite places to network are at women centered events, and we have some incredible recommendations for you below:

The ups, the downs, the down bad downs, the side jobs, and more! We get into it all, so you can feel confident in how you GET SET! in your career.
For this first episode of SZN 4, your OLD GIRLS tackle the idea of what it means to be a multi-hyphenate today, verses the taboo stigma it may have had in the past. We also offer tips of how to pitch yourself to specific audiences as a multi-hyphenate, and how those skills can benefit you in ways you may not even see yet. We go over the definition of a multi-hyphenate, and how to be a successful one, while building relationships instead of over stepping or exerting yourself. The name of the game is longevity and consistency, and to do that, picking up key skills or even whole careers along the way isn’t a “bad” thing.
So buckle up, take a sip of your fav drink of choice *happy PSL season btw* and welcome back to class ;) Happy September!!! And we hope you enjoy all season long as we take you through the end of the year with incredible Guests, take aways, and of course Old Girls banter.
Enjoy!!

Thank you for listening with us for another whole season! As we embark on a little break before coming back for SEASON 4 (YES! WE'RE DOING IT!!), we wanted to leave you with some coping strategies in the mean time.
As we all navigate everything going on at the moment, it's going to be as important as it ever was, if not more, to keep creating, keep making your art, and keep staying sane.
In this episode we talk about how to create your physical, mental, and emotional creative and safe spaces in your life, so you can be the artist you are, and hold and maintain that space for yourself and your fellow creatives around you.
This podcast since it's inception, has always served as one of our creative and safe spaces. One day 3 seasons ago, we just did it. We recorded 3 episodes back to back, and we here we are, sharing our experiences and the experiences of our super talented connects with us all to benefit from. Create that space. Be kind to yourself and others. And MAKE YOUR ART.
