“I work 9 to 5 but I think about work all the time. How do I stop?”
In this month’s Trap Talk, we’re not trying to “switch off” or control the mind. Instead, we explore why the mind keeps talking about work when you’re not even at work — and what happens when we simply peep at thought rather than follow it. Not to fix thinking, but to see it as mechanical, impersonal, and not our responsibility to act on. If it feels like work comes home with you this is the episode for you.

In this episode, I’m joined by special guest Missy Maiorano, a Certified Change Coach, for a gentle conversation about the parts of ourselves we tend to hide or push away. Together we explore why we innocently do this, how the “better version” idea is made up, and what opens up when we let all pieces of ourselves welcome.

Ever notice how thoughts pile on like jumpers on a mild autumn night? (Check out the episode to know what the heck I mean here).
In The Extra Layer, I explore how the mind innocently adds weight to what’s already here — and how peace, clarity, and insight begin to show up when we see through that extra layer.

In this episode, I’m joined by Jo Barker for a warm and honest conversation about self-expression — and how it’s become a powerful route out of old patterns for her. We talk about the shifts that have unfolded in the short time we’ve known each other, how our chats on local radio opened unexpected doors, and what can happen when you stop holding back and let your voice lead the way.

I’ve been noticing how many unspoken rules seem to run life — things like “I should always be useful” or “I shouldn’t upset anyone.” In this episode, I talk about the invisible rulebook we all seem to carry, and what shifts when we stop treating those rules as facts.
If you’d like to explore this kind of reflection more deeply, you can find me at www.themissingpeacecotswolds.com — my coaching practice where I help people see beyond the Thought Traps that keep them stuck, and rediscover the calm and clarity that’s always been there underneath.

This episode is all about anticipation — that familiar spiral the mind goes into before a big change or event. My guest, Laura Bernann, shares a touching and honest story about her daughter heading off to college, and how easily our thoughts can race ahead, create stories, and stir up all sorts of emotions. It’s a beautifully human glimpse into how the mind tries to manage what hasn’t even happened yet. Enjoy this very relatable conversation.

This episode is a special one — I was honoured to have the lovely Dr. Amy Johnson, PhD, join me on The Thought Trap. We got up close and personal with thought and explored what becomes possible when we start to see what lies beyond it. In my personal journey and in my coaching, Amy has been fundamental. I hope you enjoy this exploration as much as I did.

“I feel full of panic, worry, and anxiety 24/7.”
If you’ve ever felt trapped in that storm, this Trap Talk is for you. In this episode, I’m joined by two wonderful guests as we toss spirituality onto the table for some real, openhearted and honest conversation. In the spirit of “explore” from my PEEP approach, we broke down the stigma, looked at spirituality from three different perspectives, and gave it space to breathe. No rules, no right answers—just an invitation to see what lands for you and what looks true in your own experience.

Fear can look like it’s coming from the flight, the spider, the stage, or whatever your “thing” is. But when you look closer, it’s always the same pattern: a feeling in the body with a hitchhiker story attached. In this episode, we PEEP (Play, Explore, Experiment, Play) beneath the noise and see how fear is generated from the inside out — and how, once you see that, it gets a whole lot less convincing.

In this episode, I’m joined by fellow Certified Change Coach Jess Smith for an honest, gentle exploration of fear — what it is, what it isn’t, and why it often feels so convincing. We talk about the sneaky ways fear shows up, how it can trap us in overthinking or hesitation, and how simply seeing it for what it is can shift everything. This isn’t about fighting fear or fixing it. It’s about getting curious, loosening its grip, and reconnecting with the deeper intelligence underneath it all. Because when we understand our amazing human system — how it’s always working for us, not against us — fear starts to lose its power. And we remember: we’re built for clarity, resilience, and insight. If fear has been running the show (or even just whispering in the background), this one’s for you.

Ever find yourself thinking, “I should be further along by now”? Like you missed some invisible deadline and now you’re stuck in the wrong chapter? In this episode of Trap Talk, we unpack the sneaky mind chatter that you’re "behind" in life — and why that feeling is more about conditioning than truth. This isn’t about fixing the thought or powering through it. It’s about softening into what’s actually happening — in your body, in this moment, in your beautifully un-linear life. Because there’s no rulebook. No race. No box ticking. Just you, living — and that is always enough.

Fancy a book club? - My teacher, Dr. Amy Johnson, will be leading a group of people through the book, “What is Wrong with Right Now?: If you don’t think about it” by Sailor Bob Anderson. Sailor Bob Adamson studied with Nisargadatta in the 1970s. He went on to spend the next 40+ years sharing those teachings until he passed away just a few months ago. The book is a collection of short teachings and dialogues between Sailor Bob and his students. The dialogues contain simple, profound pointers to our real nature. The 2025 Summer Book Club starts July 28th and will run for 8 weeks. They will meet weekly and also have an online forum that’s open 24/7. I will be offering a full hours coaching complimentary if you join the book club this summer.
