This week’s episode is all about rest, and how restorative yoga can transform the way you meet the harder moments of life. After a week of being sick, I found myself noticing how much this practice has rewired my nervous system. Instead of spiralling into guilt or urgency, my body actually knew how to soften and surrender. And I’m grateful my kids get to see that version of me.
In this episode, I talk about the benefits of restorative yoga beyond the mat, why learning to rest is something the world desperately needs right now, and how this practice helps us show up with more patience, clarity, and presence.
I also guide you through a gentle somatic practice “The Art of Being Held” along with a few journal prompts to help you explore your own relationship with rest.
If you’re craving slowness, grounding, or permission to pause, this one’s for you.
Take a breath. Let’s slow down together.

What does “rested me” feel like in my body? How do I show up differently?
When do I notice myself pushing past my capacity? What would it look like to pause sooner?

This week’s episode is all about awareness—where it goes, what it lands on, and how it shapes the way we feel. I share a simple moment with my dog that shifted my perspective and reminded me that not everything asking for our attention drains us; some things actually bring us back to ourselves.
We explore the power of noticing, the agency we hold in choosing what we focus on, and how what we tend to with our awareness quietly grows. With winter inviting us inward, this episode offers gentle questions to help you reflect on what you want to nurture in the season ahead.
A soft reminder that clarity creates choice—and choice shapes a life that feels more like your own.

This week, I explore body wisdom—the quiet knowing that arises when we slow down, drop into our breath, and listen to our body’s subtle cues. I share how even simple actions, like resetting a space, can guide us back to presence, clarity, and self-awareness.
You’ll also be guided through a gentle somatic practice to connect with your body’s intelligence and reflection prompts to bring this awareness into your daily life.

In this episode of The Slowdown, we explore what it really means to feel connected to ourselves and how to notice when we’ve drifted away. I share how launching this podcast brought excitement, creativity, and energy, but also left my body feeling a little ungrounded. From there, we talk about the subtle signs of disconnection, why our culture is obsessed with “fixing” instead of noticing, and how awareness *not perfection* is what brings us home.
You’ll be guided through a gentle somatic practice, inviting your body to soften, settle, and return to safety. We end with simple journal prompts to help you recognize your own cues: the ways your body, breath, and behaviour whisper “slow down.”
Disconnection isn’t a failure, it’s a signal. And all of us drift. The practice is noticing, and make a choice from there.
Journal Prompts:
Some people notice it in their breath, some in their thoughts, some in how they speak to others, or how quickly they get overwhelmed. Bringing awareness to those cues makes room for choice — not perfection, but presence.

Hi there! I’m Katherine Gluck, and welcome to The Slowdown – a podcast for women who do it all.
This is a space for the ones who hold everything together. The caregivers. The overthinkers. The deep feelers. The women who take care of everyone else, and are learning how to take care of themselves, too.
Inside each episode, you’ll find simple moments of pause — grounding practices, gentle reflections, and conversations about what it really means to slow down and reconnect with yourself. No pressure to be perfect. No fixing. Just space to feel, breathe, and come home to your body again.
If you’re overwhelmed, stretched thin, or just craving a softer way of being in the world, you’re in the right place.
Take a breath.
Let’s slow down together.
