Just One Reason
Today I speak with the Stuart O'Neil, the author of Just One Reason.  Stuart and I discuss how he came up with the strategy to help himself through the darkest periods of his life and turned it into a real time of crisis self help book that has created change in so many peoples life with suicidal ideation.  We discuss how important it is for us as friends, family and colleagues to lookout for our loved ones when they may be going through difficult times, and how easy it is to gift this book without drawing to much attention to it.  We also discuss the layout of the book, it’s affordability and how affective it is as a mental health survival tool for any experiencing suicidal ideation. The Mental Mentor
Today I chat with ex police officer Helen Rose who is the creator of the Mental Mentor app.  An advocate for PTSI (post traumatic stress injury) being recognized as a injury and not a disorder (PTSD)  Helen shares her story and long healing journey which lead her to create the app which is not only a benefit for people with PTSI or any mental diagnosis, but for all of our mental well-beings!  I learn about EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) which is a proven therapy that helped release the stored trauma from her body and heal her.  We also discuss the importance of finding the right therapist to work with, if you don’t click with the first one, keep trying!
