What's Better - Online or Face to Face?
We know that this question is the center of most HR meetings nowadays. Which one is better - online or face to face? And we believe that some people still prefer to have online meetings, while others are very excited to return to the office. And so, for our very first TAP TGIF Live, we decided to have a free discussion about which one is indeed better. I go for Team Face to Face since I would like to meet people in person rather than look at different small squares via Zoom, while my friend Josel is for Team Online because he can have the luxury of getting out of bed five minutes before a morning meeting. Now that we can see the light at the end of this pandemic, we should go back to school and the office. But this pandemic also taught us that it is more practical and safer to do things online. So how about you? What do you prefer? To what team do you belong? Tune in to this episode to know more. Maybe, one of us can change your mind.

How to Use Metaphors to Become Creative and Persuasive
What is a metaphor? A metaphor is a figure of speech that describes an object or action in a way that is true but helps explain an idea or make a comparison. For example, we can use metaphors to compare something challenging or a difficult situation. Metaphors are creative; it appeals to the resistant person, not just to difficult situations. Take, for instance, the term "Trojan Horse." You can use the metaphor of a Trojan horse to generate a strategy to win over the competition. Find out the benefits of using metaphors by tuning in to this episode.

How to Access Your Creative State
In our last episode, we discussed how to get through an ordinary day. Of course, it’s ok to have an ordinary day. The seldom occurrence of special days is what makes them unique. But you have the power to make an ordinary day a special one - that is if you are creative! So for this episode, our chief mindfulness officer, Josel Gaston, joins me once more to discuss how to access your creative state. If you are feeling stuck or can’t even squeeze out your creative juices, Josel shares some simple techniques to bring them out with us. Negative emotions often overshadow or eat up creativity. So the first thing to do is to be calm. Josiah Gilbert Holland quoted that “Calmness is the cradle of power.” So to harness your power, you have got to calm your mind. And this can be done by meditation or by action. There are several podcasts where you can listen to guided meditations, and one of them is produced by Josel - Find Your Daily Calm. You can find the link to his podcast below. Simple movements like walking after lunch instead of taking a nap is an excellent technique to spark some ideas from inside you. So if you have been stuck for some time, listen to this episode. May this episode awaken you, stir your hidden creativity, and lead and inspire others to move as well. How to Get Through Another Ordinary Day
We rarely have days when we are in a sad or depressive state. Even rarer are days when we are in a happy state. But all of us have ordinary days. Meh days. We wait days to be finished and sleep off, and then we unexcitedly wake up to another ordinary one, just dragging ourselves out of bed. Are your days like these the past weeks? Seemingly cloudy, just dull. Lifeless. And you find it difficult to get out of the situation. So let me help you get through another ordinary day because you could! You need to decide and act. In this episode, I share about a girl on the brink of suicide. Good that her mother could identify what was happening to her and asked for help. We talked for some time, and a particular painting suddenly inspired her and helped her to have hope. And that’s the spark of getting through another day - awakening hope. So tune in and know more about not just getting through another day but making it a better day for you and the people around you.

Awakening Hope
This pandemic has brought sadness, depression, and desperation to most people. But we are now seeing the light, and a new dawn is breaking. So, as we continue to get ready for the new normal, let me share a conversation that I've had with Karen Falconer, CEO of The Association of NLP and editor of Rapport Magazine in England, at the NLP Awards 2022. In this conversation, we discussed how NLP had awakened hope in the people's hearts. Instead of being downtrodden and hopeless, these people eradicated their limiting beliefs. They changed their perspectives and mindset to build their teams and be more committed to building results for their teams. Please tune in and be inspired to awaken other people as well. Shine a light instead of casting shadows. And always stay awake. And if you are interested to know more about NLP, there will be a virtual conference on May 19-22, the International NLP Conference. Overcoming Disappointments
How do you overcome disappointments? Many people are quite disappointed with the results of the Philippine National Elections, which is perhaps, the most divisive election in the history of our nation. Many are sad to the point of grieving. Yet, they have given everything they can provide - all their time, talent, and treasure, to campaign for their chosen candidate. I believe that this phase is necessary for us to move on. And moving on is not easy. Moving on is best achieved when we allow ourselves to stay in our emotions. How can we do this? I'll share some tips for moving on with you in this episode. Take a mental note that it's ok not to feel ok. Do not listen to those people telling you that you're a drama king or queen. Disappointment is a normal stage, and it happens when there are differences between expectation and reality. But it would help if you did not let these disappointments stop you from working or chasing all the things you plan. Instead, make these disappointments your feedback in updating your next steps and actions. So tune in to this episode! If this has inspired and enlightened you, give it a share to all your group chats. As a famous quote goes, "A candle loses nothing of its light by lighting another candle." Rudeness in the Workplace
All of us have experienced rudeness in the workplace. I'm sure that you have a lot of stories to tell. The longer you have been in your job, the more experiences with rudeness. Let's call these situations incivilities. But when we talk about incivilities or just the word "a-hole," the first person that comes to many people's minds are their bosses. Why is it so? Together with our chief mindfulness officer, Josel Gaston, we will dissect these workplace incivilities and how these situations or problems affect workers. If you haven't had any experiences like these, you might be the one performing the incivilities but haven't realized it yet, especially if you are the boss. For example, you might have gaslighted or smart-shamed a subordinate without knowing it. So whether you are a boss or a subordinate, please tune in to this episode and learn how you can solve or avoid incivilities in the workplace. We would also like to hear your experiences about incivilities, so kindly share them with us by sending a message to our Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/worldstageinternational/ And here’s the link to Christine Porath’s talk: Why being respectful to your coworkers is good for business | Christine Porath

It's Your Fault... Why Are We Quick to Blame Others?
It's your fault... Why are we quick to blame others? The Blaming Game … a childish thing that we do until now. Why are people quick to find that issues are never their fault? It is always someone else's. How often have you experienced dealing with someone quick to blame others? Or this could be you, too. In this episode, I share two reasons why people are quick to blame others. It is good that we try to understand where this person is coming from and why they put the blame on someone else. I also share three tips on how to avoid blaming others. Get to know these tips by heart so that you can preserve relationships and prevent a negative domino effect started by blaming someone. Stand in the bigger space by choosing processes that help and enlarge rather than hurt and reduce. Let's always be mindful of our responses. Please tune in to this episode and share it with a friend or colleague!

Three Brains are Better Than One
How many brains do we have? We grew up learning that we only have one brain. But recent neuroscience findings have uncovered that we also have complex and functional ‘brains’, and these additional ‘brains’ are our heart and our gut. In my 13th episode, I share my recent discussion with fellow NLP trainer Andreas Dorn. We had a more profound discussion about how utilizing these three brains can help our decision-making, leadership, life goals, and social interactions. Learn how to maximize these three brains, especially when you are a leader or a head of the family. Know how to use the data presented to us by these three so that you can make better decisions, have better relationships with people and inspire others to move. We should practice servant leadership more than the usual command and control. These past two years have presented so many challenges, yet here we are - still surviving and trying to thrive. And that is what we want for everyone. So please tune in to my 13th episode so that you can rev up the best version of yourself by summoning the different brains to help the head brain so that we could be more whole-brain leaders.

How to Stop Being Impulsive
Did you see what happened at the Oscars when Will Smith slapped Chris Rock? I am sure Smith is still going through some remorse or guilt at what he did impulsively. Not being able to stop ourselves from doing something impulsive will cost us more harm than good. He may have felt great releasing his anger after what he did. But then, that lasted for only a few minutes. His remorse lasted longer. Growing up, you may have heard from your parents or teachers that you should always try to be the bigger person. Every day that we decide to restrain our impulses is a day to be proud of our decisions. But we've got to practice and pay attention to our emotions and behaviors. So in this episode, I share ways to rein ourselves in when we are on the verge of reacting negatively. May these tips help you practice avoiding being impulsive and staying on the path of light and peace. Did you miss the previous episode? You can listen to it here: https://apple.co/35zenaw

How To Be the Bigger Person
In our last episode, I discussed the importance of communication and how miscommunication is the primary source of conflict within the family and the workplace. To complete our discussion of points of view, I will further discuss each point of view to help you be the bigger person in every adverse event that you may encounter: You The Other Person Observer Whole System The ability to switch points of view and take multiple perspectives of a situation or experience is a crucial element of one's "inner game" of performance and one we should take charge of more. Find out how they are different and how you can use them in dealing with situations and helping other people be bigger persons as well.

Seeing Things From All Points of View
Communication is a vital part of our daily lives, and it enables us to send or receive messages that we want to convey. And of course, our objective is for others to understand what we want to say and to understand them back. Miscommunication is often the primary source of conflict within the family or in the workplace. That is why a strong leader is someone who can seek to understand deeper meanings and intentions in what people say to each other. NLP is a powerful communication technique that begins with a set of belief systems about people and their interactions with each other that can benefit communications. Applying this belief that every person has a positive intention in their communication is to use our understanding of points of view or perceptions. For our tenth episode, I discuss the four different points of view. Every behavior has a positive intent. Knowing this will help you accept that in any given moment, a person reacts the way they know best at the level of their consciousness, belief system, or emotions. This can help dissolve your adverse reaction to unwanted behavior. We do not judge, but we seek to understand. Tune in to this episode to better understand these four perceptual positions or points of view. This can help you have better relationships with your loved ones, family, and workplace.

Getting Ready for The New Normal
Some of us are now back to our offices, while some are still transitioning. Some are not yet ready, while others were quite excited to return. Kinesthetic people are excited about this since they are uncomfortable with the virtual office setting. This world has been changing fast as a result of this pandemic. What should we bring within us to help ourselves and others adjust to these changes? In our ninth episode of The Awakener, I will share with you my Easter message last year as a way of sparking hope in your hearts. Gratitude and kindness should be the primary values we should bring to our workplace to spread a positive vibe. Let us begin to light the world again. I've always believed that this spirit that glows is an expression of mastery and bravery in the darkness.
