Oh the classic ‘Mom Guilt’. If you have felt it you know, if you haven’t felt it, then please share with us your secrets. What we have learned as moms and as coaches is that we build ourselves an instruction manual for how we should be as moms and when the reality of mom life hits and we are not able to be the perfect mom as prescribed in our impossible instruction manual, guilt shows up in our thoughts and our actions. The problem is that this kind of guilt leads quickly to shame and that doesn’t help anyone.
Moms or anyone for that matter, should not have to feel guilt over needing a break, or taking care of yourself. Someone will always need you, someone will always want your time but unless you meet your own needs of life guilt and shame and trying to please others will quickly suck the joy out of any part of life.
So, choose happiness wherever you are and realistically that will make you the best mom in any circumstance

Julie shares about remembering that our brains will lie to us and make us think something is harder than it really is in order to help us conserve energy and avoid any kind of pain. If we remember that struggling is part of the plan and life is supposed to have ups and downs it will remind you that everything is ok. Remembering that life is 50/50 helps us understand and calm down in the middle of a struggle and look ahead to the happier 50% of life.
Beth shares about some recent losses that helped her to remember to let people and things just be...you don't have control or fix anyone. Just try and love them right now in every moment and remember what's most important and let the little stuff go.

We talk a lot about life coaching or self coaching. We talk about it because it has been life changing for us and so many others. We will keep trying to teach you in different ways and with different examples in hopes that one of them will resonate with each of you and help you.
Thoughts can be like boiling a pot of pasta. If you don't watch the water boil and keep it under control it will create a huge mess and ruin your meal. The same with your thoughts. We are supposed to have ones that cause some heat and even boil, but it is our job to use our power of choice to keep our thoughts under control to keep them from boiling over unneedlessly!
Use your emotional pain or discomfort on small issues to start to shake up and look at thoughts that are not helping you in your life and are only causing unneeded pain.
