The coronavirus pandemic has helped make treehouses popular in the US, both as fun backyard spaces and unusual vacation accommodation.
For many people, a basic treehouse is still the way to go. Jim Brook, a 71-year-old grandfather from Colorado, said building a simple treehouse was a fun way to get his three grandsons to play outside.
Nanci and Ethan Butler from Massachusetts built their own backyard treehouse too. However, theirs took three months, and is big enough for the Butlers and their two kids to sleep in.
For those who don't want to build their own, treehouse rentals now have their own section on Airbnb. Places like the Mohicans Treehouse Resort in Ohio offer customers a chance to experience the outdoors but with modern amenities. The resort's nine treehouses are more like hotel rooms, with bathrooms, electricity and even air conditioning.
Aaron Smith, who owns Treecraft Design-Build in Colorado, said business is booming. He said that there has been a big increase in people asking for backyard treehouses during the pandemic.
The company's treehouses can be anything from basic structures costing about $10,000, to ones you could live in that cost half a million dollars.

在台灣餐廳裡價格不菲、常出現在高級套餐中的 鵝肝（goose liver），
在匈牙利，竟然只是「日常食物」之一！😲

一隻重達 36 公斤 的美洲獅，
竟然被人非法飼養在紐約市的公寓裡！🏙️😮

A 36-kilogram cougar has been removed from a New York City apartment where she was being kept illegally as a pet.
The owner of the 11-month-old female cougar surrendered the animal, said Kelly Donithan of the Humane Society of the United States.
The cougar, called Sasha, received vet care at the Bronx Zoo for a few days before being sent to the Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge in Arkansas, officials said.
Donithan said the removal showed how the exotic pet trade hurts animals and their owners, who often buy wild animals with the false belief that they will make good pets.
She said Sasha was lucky because her owners understood that a wild cat couldn't live in an apartment and surrendered her.
Basil Seggos of the Department of Environmental Conservation said that while cougars may look cute when young, they grow up to be very dangerous.
"These animals often end up in very bad situations," said Bronx Zoo director Jim Breheny. He said that people don't have the resources or knowledge to look after the animals. Plus, he said they can be dangerous for the owner, the owner's family and the community.

A Canadian man has created quite a buzz with his summer plans. Zach Choboter has rollerbladed more than 10,000 kilometers across Canada to raise awareness of the importance of bees to the environment — and also broke a world record along the way.
The journey, which Choboter called Blading for Bees, began on May 25 in Whistler, British Columbia, and ended on August 23 in St. John's, Newfoundland, on Canada's east coast.
The Blading for Bees website sold hats and T-shirts to help pay for the trip, and the group promises that any extra money will go to organizations that help bees.
"Bees are such a good mascot for the environment," Choboter told CBC News. "If we help them, we help everything."
Before starting, Choboter told Global News that he planned to travel 120-150 kilometers every day, allowing up to 14 days for breaks. His sister Rachel went on the journey with him, driving a support vehicle as he rollerbladed.
However, the trip also included a crash that briefly put Choboter in the hospital not long after crossing the Rocky Mountains.
When the brother and sister arrived in St. John's, they celebrated by jumping into the Atlantic Ocean. On Instagram, they wrote that Choboter had rollerbladed a total of 10,093 kilometers.

美國一家麥當勞因為嚴重缺工，竟然開始招募 14～15 歲的青少年員工！
這家位於奧瑞岡州 Medford 的麥當勞甚至直接在店門口掛出大公告👇

在美國 COVID-19 限制放寬後，許多餐廳與商家都面臨 人力供應不足 的問題。
負責經營這家麥當勞的 Heather Coleman 表示，他們家族 40 年來從沒遇過如此缺工的情況。
💵 她曾把最低時薪提高到 15 美元，但依然沒人來應徵。

A McDonald's in the US needs workers so badly that it's asking 14- and 15-year-olds to apply. The fast-food restaurant, which is in the city of Medford in southern Oregon, even put a sign out front saying, "Now hiring 14 & 15 year olds." After the easing of COVID-19 restrictions in the US, many restaurants and other businesses have not been able to find enough staff. Heather Coleman, who runs the restaurant, told Business Insider that in her family's 40-year history of managing different McDonald's, they've never seen such a shortage of employees. Coleman tried increasing the minimum wage to $15 an hour, but that didn't work. However, after welcoming the younger age group, she received 25 job applications in two weeks. Earlier this year, an Ohio Burger King also put up a sign that said, "Do you have a 14 or 15 year old? Do they need a job? We will hire them!" This caused a lot of debate on social media, with many people saying that instead of hiring younger people, the company should pay more or make working conditions better.

A Canadian man has created quite a buzz with his summer plans. Zach Choboter has rollerbladed more than 10,000 kilometers across Canada to raise awareness of the importance of bees to the environment — and also broke a world record along the way.
The journey, which Choboter called Blading for Bees, began on May 25 in Whistler, British Columbia, and ended on August 23 in St. John's, Newfoundland, on Canada's east coast.
The Blading for Bees website sold hats and T-shirts to help pay for the trip, and the group promises that any extra money will go to organizations that help bees.
"Bees are such a good mascot for the environment," Choboter told CBC News. "If we help them, we help everything."
Before starting, Choboter told Global News that he planned to travel 120-150 kilometers every day, allowing up to 14 days for breaks. His sister Rachel went on the journey with him, driving a support vehicle as he rollerbladed.
However, the trip also included a crash that briefly put Choboter in the hospital not long after crossing the Rocky Mountains.
When the brother and sister arrived in St. John's, they celebrated by jumping into the Atlantic Ocean. On Instagram, they wrote that Choboter had rollerbladed a total of 10,093 kilometers.

Swedish pop group ABBA is releasing its first new music in 40 years, along with a live show that will see the band performing in a whole new way: virtually. The album, Voyage, will be released on November 5. Instead of performing the new album themselves, virtual versions of the band members have been created who will begin playing shows in London on May 27, 2022. "We took a break in the spring of 1982 and now we've decided it's time to end it," ABBA said in a statement. The group has been creating the show with director George Lucas' special effects company, Industrial Light & Magic. The band members played together for hours every day for weeks, using motion capture and other techniques to create virtual versions of their younger selves. The show will include 22 songs and will last for about 90 minutes. The show will come 50 years after the group was started. They say making it was hard work, but they enjoyed it. "It was so joyful to be together in the studio again, the four of us," said Benny Andersson, one of the band members.

Ikea France has been offering busy Parisians power naps across the French capital.
From August 30 to September 3, the Swedish furniture company sent out eight electric bicycles, each pulling a yellow sleeping capsule. The capsules were called "La sieste Ikea" — or "Ikea nap."
Everything needed for a comfortable rest was put inside the capsules, including Ikea pillows and blankets. The capsules had large windows, but there were curtains inside that could be closed for sleeping time.
Customers could book a 30-minute nap between 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. if they posted on social media mentioning Ikea France.
Once booked, the capsules promised to arrive at each person's location in half an hour or less. People could then enjoy a 30-minute nap while being pulled around the streets of Paris.
Ikea cleaned the capsules and changed the bedding after every use.
One Twitter user wrote, "Should we do the same thing every day? I just had the best power nap right in front of my office!"
Another wrote, "Ikea France delivers sleep."
Ikea introduced its sleeping capsules just as children in France returned to school after the summer holidays and many parents returned to the office.

The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) has announced that women will be paid the same amount of money per match as men when playing for the country's senior national soccer teams.
Members of the men's team had previously been paid about $3,000 per match, while members of the women's team had been paid about $600 per match. 
The FAI said that the men's team has agreed to a reduction in fees for international games, with the money making up part of the new payments for the women's team. 
Women's team captain Katie McCabe said that the decision was "a huge step forward" for equality in Irish sports, and thanked the men's team for agreeing to it. 
As recently as 2017 the women's team was in the news because they did not get paid at all for their matches. The players said that they also had to share uniforms with Ireland's underaged teams and get changed for games in airport bathrooms. 
At the time the team asked for a gym membership, more uniforms and about $350 per match, with extra payments for winning or drawing games. The players threatened to not play a game against Slovakia, but were able to come to an agreement with the FAI and the game went ahead. 
Ireland is not the first country to give its men's and women's soccer teams equal pay. It joins England, Brazil, Norway, Australia and New Zealand, which have also made the change over the last four years.
