In this episode, Steph and Steph sit down with Lisa (@szabon.com), the founder of Fear Less Changemakers. Lisa helps community members express themselves with confidence and communicate with respect and grace—especially when tackling difficult or controversial topics.
We dive into big questions like: When did this extreme divisiveness really begin? Why does it seem to be getting worse—and not just because of a single politician or media outlet, but on a deeper level, what’s actually happening in our world right now? Most importantly, what power do we, as individuals, have to bridge divides, engage with our leaders, and create conversations that foster real connection and lasting, meaningful change?

In this episode, we are joined by our friend Jay Coleman, founder of Sincerely An Introvert apparel and co-host of the Stay Introverted Podcast (with Steph L.) to explore the difference between being nice and being kind.
Although these words are often used interchangeably, they don’t quite mean the same thing, in our view.
During the conversation, we unpack the true meaning of each word, debate whether someone can be one without being the other, and explore how our perceptions of others are shaped regarding whether they come across as nice or kind. We also discuss whether a single action is enough to judge someone’s character or if kindness and niceness reveal themselves over time.
This episode will make you rethink how you see yourself and others, as well as how you show up in the world. We can’t wait to hear your thoughts!

In this episode, we dive deep into the role of empathy in our everyday interactions with Mahlon and Jamie from The Roundtable Mindset Podcast. We explore what empathy means, what it looks like in action; and the importance of balancing empathy in the world.
We discuss things like:
🔹 The fact that our own capacity for empathy shapes the way we judge others’ capacity for empathy.
🔹The pressures that society tends to put on women to be more empathetic, while simultaneously assuming men are not empathetic
🔹 The relationships between people who just want somebody to listen vs the person on the other side who wants to jump right into fixing & problem solving
🔹 Recognizing our shared humanity through empathy
🔹 Empathy burnout
This was an incredibly insightful conversation about a topic that’s been super hot on social media.

In this episode, Steph and Steph welcome Selena, a connection coach, author, and speaker, to explore the profound idea that truly connecting with others begins with cultivating compassionate self-connection.
The discussion covers topics such as recognizing that our beliefs, values, and communication styles shape our experiences and relationships; reframing difficult conversations; using hindsight as a tool rather than a weapon; understanding the impact of our evolving values on our actions; effectively communicating our needs to ourselves and others, and the vital role of self-compassion in all of this!
By embracing self-compassion, we not only enhance our own well-being but also create a foundation for more authentic and empathetic relationships with those around us.

In this episode, Steph and Steph are joined by our friend Oliver, connecting from across the globe for a deep discussion about all things personal development. Together, we explore why it's important to live in the present regardless of what happened in the past and what it means to define the person you want to become and work toward that goal one day at a time. We talk about embracing challenges instead of shrinking from them, staying committed to the journey despite its difficulties, and adapting to shifting destinations.
Oliver also dives into a concept we've been fascinated by for ages but haven’t discussed on the show until now: 1% Better Every Day. This powerful approach encourages incremental improvements that, over time, create compounding gains. Tune in to discover how this mindset can transform your life.
This was a deep and inspiring conversation, and we couldn’t think of a better way to kick off the new year. We’re so excited to hear your thoughts!

In this episode, Steph & Steph take it back to basics and tackle a question humanity has been wrestling with forever: what does it really mean to be a good person?
It’s a simple yet profound question—one we don’t discuss nearly enough. So, we decided to kickstart the conversation and explore what everyone thinks.
We dig beyond the surface (as always) to reflect on how and why good people act the way they do. We ask if it’s possible to be both good and bad at the same time and wonder if most of us are a mix of both, depending on the moment or circumstance.
We’d love to hear your take on this and the episode as a whole! Drop a comment on social or your favorite listening platform and join the conversation.
Trigger warning!
When it feels like the sky is falling, everything is going wrong, and you just can’t catch a break - it is SO easy to get caught up in a victim mindset.
We get it. Both of us have been there (both consciously & subconsciously) more times than we care to count.
In this conversation, we discuss why staying stuck in that kind of mentality has never been an acceptable option, while also sharing some of the things that helped us move through it.
We hope that if anyone listening to this episode is currently stuck in a victim mindset, this will give you a little nudge in a positive direction. And if nothing else, we hope it shows you that you’re not alone & this too shall pass.
Inspired by Mark Manson’s bestselling personal development book of the same name.
In this episode, the two Stephs are joined by our friend Greg for a deep dive into a book that has made a significant impact on all of us.
The book is The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fck*. You might have seen it before—maybe at the airport, on your best friend’s nightstand, or on your old college roommate’s Instagram stories.
But it’s more than just an eye-catching orange self-help book with a provocative title.
It’s not about disregarding everything in life. That would be absurd; after all, we’re human and we need to care about something. The essence of the book is that we should focus on caring less about things that don’t truly matter to us and more about things that align with our values, vision, and true selves.
In this discussion, we explore this idea, along with the distinctions between values, beliefs, and opinions (as we covered in our foundational Episode 2!).
We’re excited to hear your thoughts on this topic!

Admitting we are/were wrong isn’t easy. In fact, depending on the situation, it can be downright terrifying, and it can have all kinds of consequences.
Which is why so many people - understandably - never want to admit to being wrong.
But take it from us - admitting to being wrong can be incredibly liberating.
It’s an opportunity to get curious, and get closer to the “truth” in the process. It’s a chance to make things right, to learn something about yourself, other people & the world around you. It’s a chance to grow, evolve & get to an even better place.
It ain’t easy, but we hope that by the end of this discussion, admitting to being wrong will feel a little less scary!
We’re living in trying times, and a big reason for that is we’ve lost the ability to have civil discourse with people we disagree with.
We’ve lost the ability to agree to disagree, or even to disagree without hurling insults, slapping insults & attacking characters.
Today the two Steph’s dive into this, and we discuss how we can get back on track, by committing to and engaging in tough conversations.
It’s not always easy, but then again - most things that are worth it never are.
In this episode, Steph & Steph are joined once again by homeschooling mamas Ileana and Nancy, AND public school art teacher, Kelly Montgomery, for our first ever roundtable discussion between people on both sides.
We’re not going to lie, we were nervous when we hit the record button.
All three women are extremely passionate about what they do.
But as the conversation unfolded, and the ladies shared their thoughts about curriculums, learning opportunities, timelines & standardization, something beautiful happened.
They found common ground in their deep passion for education, and their unwavering commitment to giving their kids the best possible learning experiences.
Although the ladies shared very different perspectives on various topics (ie reading at grade level vs living math), this common thread empowered us to keep the conversation civil, respectful and enjoyable for everybody.
In fact, by the time the conversation wrapped up, everybody had gained a new understanding & appreciation for the other side!
We’re calling this conversation a major win!
