Here’s to more energy, better sleep, positivity, and health - here’s to a mindful drinking movement - here’s to change!
Change really is possible - we just have to learn how to make it happen.
Joining us in this episode is Dr. Brian Pennie
Dr. Brian is a writer, corporate speaker, mental health advocate and lecturer in Trinity College and University College Dublin.
He is the author of the best selling book Bonus Time and most recently brought us the heralded documentary series 'Hooked' on the science of addiction from drugs to gambling and smartphones.
Something he knows a lot about from personal experience - as Brian turned his life around after a 15 year heroin addiction.
Here he explains why we are creatures of habit, why we chase pleasure and push away pain and how real change happens when we learn to live not by our habits but show up protecting our values and what matters to us most.

Here’s to more energy, better sleep, positivity, and health - here’s to a mindful drinking movement - here’s to change!
We all need ways to destress, switch off, destress and reconnect.
And we all know how easy it is to allow alcohol to be at the centre of it.
But protecting your energy, mental health, physical resources and relationships are more important. In this episode we talk to Justin Caffrey, high-performance coach, entrepreneur, and thought leader, helping people deal with their anxiety and nervous system regulation.
Justin has been through a lot - a very stressful career, heavy travel load and the loss of a young child, and throughout it all he powered on pretending and using alcohol among other things to mask his mental health, until a panic attack in a boardroom forced him to make a change.
This episode is compelling, nonjudgemental and as Justin shares more common than we may realise amongst men.

Here’s to more energy, better sleep, positivity, and health - here’s to a mindful drinking movement - here’s to change!
Mothers are some of the most overwhelmed people in the world - and instead of functional support there is a trend to encourage “Wine O’Clock” as the solution to her very real physical, emotional, hormonal and mental challenges.
Maybe instead of wine, she just needs some help?
Joining me to share their own relationship with alcohol in motherhood is child and adolescent psychotherapist and play therapist Debbie Cullinane, Host of Stretch Marks podcast Sinead O’Moore and Sustainability Advocate Pat Kane.
Each of them has felt the need to reach for that glass and individually have found ways to make a change.

Here’s to more energy, better sleep, positivity, and health - here’s to a mindful drinking movement - here’s to change!
Joining us on Here’s to Change is music artist and host of the "Light Work for Dark Days" podcast, Nealo.
Nealo made the decision to stop drinking alcohol and here shares the benefits, the challenges and the change it’s made to his relationships with his son, his friends and with himself.
We talk about the impact alcohol was having on his mental health and how since no longer drinking, Nealo has had to meet parts of himself that alcohol numbed away. This hasn’t always been easy but over time he has found greater contentment, energy and a new way to live life.
