In today's episode, I discuss with Katerina Pavlakis, the concept of intuitive cook. We delve into the progression of home cooking and the role of intuition and the senses.
Katerina grew up in Greece in the 1970s, with a Greek father and German mother. She inhabited a world where food cultures naturally mixed and merged. Home cooking wasn't a hobby or a special occasion thing—it was simply how they lived. Even the local tavernas felt like extensions of home kitchens (you could literally walk into their kitchens and peek into the pots to choose your meal!).
The concept of cooking by recipe didn't enter her world until her late twenties when she moved to London and encountered the cult of celebrity chefs and cookbook writers. Suddenly, she questioned whether she was really a "good cook" if she couldn't properly follow a recipe. Yet, everyone who tasted her food raved about it.
Katerina has seen too many passionate people lose their confidence to the pressures of modern food culture - the cult of recipes, glossy Instagram perfection and celebrity chef culture - and that's how she realised that sharing her way of cooking can shine a light on the path towards more calm, fun and taste in the kitchen.

In today's episode Dr Jalal discusses a systemic approach to Dental Health.
Dr Jalal Khan is a trained dentist but really an alchemist. He is deeply passionate about spiritual alchemy, the alignment of mind, body and soul. He firmly believes that all chronic illness begins initially with an injury of the soul. His life purpose is for you to "find the healer within".
Dr Jalal states that he is not a healer, but rather you are your own healer, he is merely someone that helps guide you in directions that you feel are beneficial for your health and vitality.
Dr Jalal Khan draws upon extensive knowledge in quantum biology, postural and airway dentistry, osteopathy, fascia, emotions, functional neurology and kinesiology to help my patients spiritually, physically and emotionally align themselves and he calls this process dental alchemy.
Dr Jalal dives into:
- the body is a whole system that is an electrical and light being
- the defects in the mouth can reveal ailments in the body and vice versa
- the benefits of using a multi-modality approach eg. osteopathy, homeopathy, kinesiology, etc
- teeth are critical from a postural standpoint - relation between the trauma (physical/emotional) stored in our bodies in bones/muscles and the structure deformities that can occur in our jaws
