Thanksgiving has a way of bringing out the best in us… and the parts we’d rather hide.
The messy family dynamics, the overstimulation, the emotional landmines, the pressure to feel grateful on command.
In this episode, I’m naming the quiet part out loud: gratitude isn’t always pretty, peaceful, or polished.
Sometimes it’s gritty. Sometimes it’s tired. Sometimes it’s the shaky breath you take in the bathroom before you walk back into the noise.
As a mental health therapist, a projector, someone who’s lived through more burnout cycles than I care to admit, I’ve learned that gratitude inside chaos hits different. It becomes less about the “list” and more about the nervous system—what your body can hold, what you’re releasing, and what still needs space.
Inside this conversation:
This is not the “be grateful no matter what” pep talk.
It’s the reminder that your mental health counts just as much as the holiday expectations.
And that gratitude can coexist with grief, frustration, exhaustion, and being human.
If Thanksgiving feels messy this year, you’re not doing it wrong.
You’re just telling the truth.

In this episode, I share the story of watching my niece—the same little girl who once scattered petals at my wedding—step into her own. This isn’t a story about weddings. It’s about time, presence, identity, and the nervous system capacity required to actually feel your own life.
If I had still been living inside burnout, emotional overload, and survival pace, I would have missed the meaning of this moment entirely. This episode explores what happens when you slow down enough to take in your own story — and how travel, transitions, and family dynamics can reveal who you’ve become.
This is an invitation to breathe, remember, and be here for your life.

After 25 years in the mental health field, I’ve witnessed too many helpers—therapists, first responders, teachers, and healers—burn out while trying to hold space for everyone else. In this episode, I share why the next evolution of my own healing isn’t found in the therapy room, but in travel, adventure, and intentional experiences that restore the nervous system and reignite wonder. From curating wellness retreats to reclaiming joy, I explore how stepping outside our daily rhythm can be a powerful act of self-care and burnout prevention for those who spend their lives caring for others.

Halloween isn’t just candy and costumes — it’s a culturally sanctioned invitation to play, to flirt with the shadow, and to shake off the weight of constant caretaking. In this episode, we explore why helpers, healers, and therapists often lose touch with their wildness, what our nervous systems need from ritual and release, and how embodied joy becomes medicine for burnout. This is for anyone who thinks adulting stole their capacity to play and wants a permission slip to reclaim it without shame.

Marriage after 18 years isn’t just anniversaries and celebrations—it’s the messy, quiet, everyday reality of living with someone who, like you, is a helper. In this episode, I explore what it’s like when both partners are therapists, healers, or helpers: juggling nervous systems, energy, and emotional labor while trying to stay connected. We’ll talk about the magic in the mundane, the tension beneath the surface, and how showing up fully—messy, human, and embodied—creates lasting connection, growth, and intimacy.

You help people navigate rejection, belonging, and boundaries every day — but what happens when you’re the one left out? Midlife friendships are tricky: they start by proximity, convenience, or kids, and then slowly shift. In this episode, I pull back the curtain on the quiet shame, hidden hurt, and nervous system impact of realizing your “friend group” isn’t what it used to be. I share the messy middle of staying connected while honoring your needs, and how to show up fully in friendships — not as a fixer or helper, but as a human who belongs as they are.

You’ve been hustling, over-giving, and white-knuckling your way through the last quarter, telling yourself it’s “professionalism,” “dedication,” or just a “finish strong” mindset. But here’s the truth nobody wants to admit: you’re not locked-in—you’re stuck.
In this episode, we pull back the curtain on the hidden lies that keep therapists, healers, and helpers trapped in exhaustion and survival mode. I’ll break down how overfunctioning, performative boundaries, and chasing one more certification are quietly draining your energy. We’ll talk about the fear beneath it—the terror of losing identity, relevance, or control—and why ignoring your nervous system signals only deepens burnout.
Most importantly, I’ll share the pivot that finally unlocked my energy: learning to name the lies, tend to my nervous system, choose less instead of more, and show up fully—without forcing, overperforming, or burning out. This isn’t about quitting your profession; it’s about reclaiming your energy, presence, and capacity to serve without sacrificing yourself in the process.
By the end of this episode, you’ll know how to spot the patterns keeping you stuck and the first steps toward a real-life “great unlock.

Parenting a teen can feel like starting over. At 13, kids push boundaries, test limits, and suddenly everything you thought you knew about guiding them feels useless. In this episode, I pull back the curtain on the messy middle of parenting, the tension between guiding and letting go, and how supporting my daughter through selective mutism and dyslexia has taught me patience, radical listening, and honoring her pace. Plus, we explore tools for showing up authentically without over-controlling, emotional clarity in the nervous system, and how Human Design can help you navigate adolescence with more ease.

This week, I’m bringing you a replay of my conversation with Karen and Jazmin from the Therapy Tea Podcast, and it’s a juicy one. We pulled back the curtain on what it really means to step into this profession, the myths people still hold about therapists, and how I’ve carved out a path that actually aligns with my energy instead of burning me out.
In this conversation, I share my very unconventional journey into becoming a counselor, why direct client work wasn’t my forever lane (yes, I said it), and how Human Design and alternative wellness practices reshaped not only how I work—but how I live.
We talk about:
✨ The messy, nonlinear path into the mental health field
✨ How to stop forcing yourself into work that drains you—even if it looks “successful” on paper
✨ Blending traditional training with alternative practices like Human Design for deeper alignment
✨ Why authenticity matters more than fitting the mold in this profession
This is one of those raw, real talks where I name the things most people won’t say out loud about the mental health world. If you’ve ever wondered what it looks like to build a career and a life that actually fit you, this conversation will spark something.

Rest for therapists, healers, educators, and first responders isn’t one-size-fits-all. Our nervous systems are wired differently, and the kind of “rest” the world tells us to take doesn’t always touch the real exhaustion we carry. In this episode, I’m unpacking the hidden burnout cycle of helpers, why traditional rest often fails us, and how Human Design + nervous system awareness can help us stop ghosting ourselves and reclaim sustainable energy.

What if Human Design isn’t the next life hack, but actually the antidote to hustle culture? In this episode, I’m calling out the performative way so many of us use our charts—like a to-do list—and how that just feeds burnout. I’ll share the story of how I tried to “apply” my design like a formula and fell flat on my face, why our nervous systems rebel against this approach, and what it looks like to reframe Human Design as a practice of deconditioning and soul-rooted living.

Midlife burnout isn’t just about aging; it’s about identity, hormones, and the nervous system colliding. In this episode, I unpack the messy truth behind the so-called “midlife crisis’ — and why women’s experiences get dismissed while men’s get glamorized. I share my own journey of leaning into Human Design to get clear on what was burnout, what was biology, and what was bullshit. If you’ve ever wondered why life feels messy, urgent, exhausted, questioning everything, or just trying to figure out who you are now, and unsustainable in your 40s (or why your nervous system feels like it’s short-circuiting), this conversation is for you.

The kids are back in school. The routines are settling. And suddenly, you realize the way you’ve been doing life isn’t working anymore. In this episode, I sit with the messy, quiet, still moments that come before a shift, explore the subtle resistance to change, and tease a bold pivot in my own life — one I haven’t spoken out loud yet. This one’s for anyone trying to decide for themselves, not because someone else told them to, and who wants to avoid burnout while stepping into something new.

You thought you were emotionally resilient, but what if you were just emotionally invisible? In this episode, we rip the mask off childhood conditioning, explore how your relationship with your mother reflects the patterns you couldn’t see growing up, and what it takes to finally break the spell. This one’s for the ones who are tired of pretending to be fine, even as therapists, healers, or the ones who know better.

What happens when the very path that was supposed to set you free starts to feel like a cage? In this raw, honest episode, I break down the real reason I quit being a therapist — not because I stopped caring, but because I started waking up. We talk about the unspoken grief, the body-based betrayal, and what it means to feel regulated and resentful at the same time. If you’ve ever wondered, “Is it me, or is the system broken?” — this one's for you.
I’m naming the quiet parts out loud, walking you through the messy middle, and sharing what it looked like to trust a frequency shift even when nothing made sense on paper. This is about quitting the performance, not the purpose.

We’ve been sold a lie—that a “regulated woman” is always calm, always composed, always in control. In this episode, I’m breaking down the performance of regulation, what it actually means to live in a body that’s healing, and why your nervous system doesn’t need more discipline—it needs more truth. We’ll explore the messy middle, the shadow side no one wants to name, and the real path back to your body. This isn’t about fixing yourself. It’s about reclaiming your rhythm.

Burnout gets all the airtime. But boredom? That’s the one we don’t say out loud.
What if your exhaustion isn’t from doing too much, but from doing what no longer lights you up?
What if the problem isn’t your capacity, but the cage you built trying to be a “good” therapist or healer?
In this episode, we’re talking about the soul-level boredom that masquerades as burnout. The dead air inside success. The moment you look around at the life you built and wonder, “Is this all there is?” If you’re craving more—but don’t even know what that “more” looks like yet—this one’s for you.

What if the things you were praised for—your professionalism, your emotional labor, your commitment, your consistency—are the exact things draining you?
This isn’t another burnout pep talk.
It’s a full-body reckoning.
We’re going deep into the identity collapse, the invisible labor, the mask of professionalism, and what it costs to keep being “the strong one” in a system that doesn’t make room for your humanity.
This is about healing work that doesn’t devour your nervous system.
This is about staying in your calling without disappearing into it.
And this is your reminder: You’re not broken. You’re just outgrowing the performance.
