Homeopathy, Postpartum, and the Natural Laws That Shape Us w/ Rachel Grenley

In this episode, I’m joined by Rachel of The Root Celler Co., a classically trained homeopath whose work bridges the wisdom of natural law with the tender continuum of pregnancy and postpartum.

We talk about:

  • The principle of “like cures like” and how homeopathy works with the body rather than against it.

  • Why suppression (through pharmaceuticals) can create chronic patterns.

  • The law of polarity and the law of correspondence — and how they apply to both individual and collective healing.

  • Pregnancy as a portal where lineage imprints rise to the surface.

  • Postpartum as a fulcrum where mothers attune to both baby and culture.

  • Remedies Rachel turns to that carry deep blueprint energy, including fungal remedies, matrodonal remedies (birth substances), and mammalian milks.

Rachel’s reflections reveal why tending to mothers is not just personal care — it is collective healing.

Nurturing Resilience
Tongue Ties & Oral Restrictions

Welcome back to another episode of Nurturing Resilience where today we're diving into a fascinating topic that's been buzzing in both medical and alternative health circles: the rise in tongue-ties and changes in oral-facial development.
Have you noticed more people talking about tongue-ties lately? Or maybe you've heard about changes in facial structures affecting breathing and sleep? Well, you're not alone. There's been a noticeable increase in these conditions, and today we're going to break down why I think this might be happening.
Since my practice has opened 13 years ago I have definitely seen an increase in oral restrictions. I get asked all of the time "why is this happening?" If you know me, you know that I like to answer my clients with the best information I can, and so today I am sharing the top seven reasons (aka rabbit holes) I have found to hold true.
In this episode I share the 7 reasons which include:
- Processed diets lacking essential nutrients
- Increased exposure to environmental toxins
- Changes in breastfeeding practices
- Genetic factors like MTHFR mutations and folic acid
- More sedentary lifestyles
- Increased awanress and diagnosis
- Changes in our oral habits and development
While the exact cause is not fully understood, it is clear the rise in tongue-ties and changes in oral-facial development likely result from a combination of modern lifestyle factors. I talk about what are the factors we can control and what to do to seek help if you are mom struggling with this issue.
This is a nuanced topic and I did my best to highlight multiple perspectives and thoughts. The biggest take away is to get help! You do not need to struggle through this alone and there are many people trained specifically to address this topic.
Remember, while we're seeing an increase in these conditions, understanding the potential causes empowers us to make positive changes that can affect future generations.

Empowering Twin Birth w/ Anna Jones

In today's episode, we welcome Anna Jones RN, BSN, not only because of her expertise in birth but to hear her lived experience birthing twins vaginally. Anna's journey as a twin mom who successfully delivered vaginally is not only inspiring but also educational. Her experience challenges the prevailing trends in twin births and offers valuable insights for all expectant mothers and birthing people, twins or not.

To provide context, let's look at some statistics: According to the National Institute of Health, 3.4% of pregnancies are twin births. From 1995 to 2008, cesarean rates for twin births increased steadily from 53.4% to 75%. This means that currently, only about 25% of twin births are delivered vaginally, making Anna's experience relatively rare.

Anna Jones a registered nurse, birth consultant, & mom of 4 wild boys with a passion for helping mothers feel informed & empowered in their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experiences. After completing her senior capstone project in the antepartum/postpartum floor & then working as a nurse in labor & delivery, she saw the lack of birth education first hand every day. Seeing others have less than experiences simply because they “did not know” was the fuel behind the creation of her business & personal podcast “A Better Birth”. She is passionate about the enabling women and birthing people to empower themselves with information so they can make confident, informed decisions and have an experience that feels right to them.

In this episode, we'll explore the factors that contributed to Anna's successful vaginal twin birth, discuss the current medical practices surrounding deliveries, and examine how informed decision-making can impact birth outcomes for everyone. Anna will share her personal story, including the challenges she faced and the strategies she employed to achieve her desired birth experience. Her story is particularly significant given the statistical trends, and offers a unique perspective on unmedicated birth.

What struck me the most about Anna was her her ability to advocate for herself through the entire process. She incorporated food, movement, mindfulness and gratitude into her birth prep which led to the birth she desired. She also strongly advocates for choosing the people you want in the birth room which can make ALL the difference to your experience.

Anna is all about empowering people with education and choices so they have the pregnancy, birth and postpartum they desire. You can hear her passion in our conversation and I hope it inspires you to educate and advocate for yourself in your own life and birth. Infant Sleep Without Sleep Training w/ Ali Guyer

In today’s podcast is interview Ali Guyer. Ali is a certified infant sleep specialist, an occupational therapist and a mom of one (very wakeful baby/toddler). She became certified to help other families navigate sleep after her own anxiety-inducing and confusing journey of deciding whether or not to sleep train her son. From her own experience of living with an anxiety disorder, she wanted to help other families understand the importance of infants experiencing close proximity and responsiveness day and night- to prevent future nervous system dysregulation and mental health challenges. She is passionate about challenging the modern non-responsive sleep practices that are so often encouraged to new parents by family, friends and trusted health providers.

I decided to embark on this podcast because one of the most asked questions I get asked in my clinical practice is about sleep and if parents should sleep train.

Sleep training typically involves methods like controlled crying or "crying it out," where parents allow their baby to cry for a specified period before offering comfort. The goal is to teach the baby to “self-soothe” and fall asleep independently. But what we know now is that babies that are sleep trained aren’t necessarily “self soothing” but rather shutting down their nervous systems. We also know that babies that are sleep trained are not sleeping better or more compared to babies who are not sleep trained, they are just not responding anymore.

Ali decided to deepen her learning and train as a sleep specialist after she was told to not pick up her crying baby which went against all of her instincts. She desired to respond to his cues and found a training that was attachment focused and made more sense to her and her baby’s needs. With sleep specialty Ali helps moms come up with solutions to the baby’s unique signaling and attachment cues for sleep.

We also address:

Ali’s own story how she got into this work

  • Six states of sleep
  • What is happening physiological with babies during stress and attachment
  • A person’s reactivity to stress is set in the first year of life
  • Understanding low sleep need babies, what are the baby’s needs vs doing the same thing for everyone
  • The sensory system and it’s relationships to sleep
  • Why breastfeeding to sleep isn’t bad
  • And so much more!

Unmasking Infertility: The Journey of IVF + IUI w/ Jaime Carroll

In this episode of the Nurturing Resilience Podcast I invited a special guest, Jaime Carroll, to delve into the emotionally charged and challenging topic of infertility. Jaime serves as an Education and Advocacy Coordinator at the Utah Infertility Resource Center and is courageously open about sharing her personal journey with primary and secondary infertility, multiple losses, and the joy of finally welcoming her two children into the world through IUI and IVF procedures.

This episode takes a deep exploration into the struggles, triumphs, and emotional rollercoaster associated with infertility treatments like IUI and IVF. The conversation doesn't shy away from discussing the heart-wrenching impact of miscarriages and the resilience needed to navigate these tough experiences.

In addition to the physical and emotional toll, the societal stigma around infertility is also discussed. We bring to light the often unspoken feelings of guilt and personal shame that individuals and couples combating infertility may experience. This episode seeks to challenge these stigmas and foster understanding and empathy among listeners.

Highlighting the core theme of our podcast, we focus on the importance of resilience in the face of these hardships. Jaime's journey is a testament to this, having navigated her way through adversity and emerged 'resilient as fuck'. This resilience has not only seen her through her infertility journey but also played a significant role in dealing with her recent ADHD diagnosis, a topic that we also touch upon in this episode.

As we dive into these sensitive topics, it's important to note that this episode includes content that may be triggering for those who have experienced similar difficulties. I deeply care about my listeners and their wellbeing, therefore, I encourage everyone to ensure they are in a supportive and safe environment before tuning in.

I hope this episode provides valuable insights, fosters understanding, and perhaps offers comfort to those on similar journeys.

Nurturing Resilience
Internal Family Systems w/ Laura Parry

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of psychotherapy that identifies and addresses multiple sub-personalities or families within each person’s mental system. These sub-personalities consist of wounded parts and painful emotions such as anger and shame, and parts that try to control and protect the person from the pain of the wounded parts. The sub-personalities are often in conflict with each other and with one's core Self, a concept that describes the confident, compassionate, whole person that is at the core of every individual. IFS focuses on healing the wounded parts and restoring mental balance and harmony by changing the dynamics that create discord among the sub-personalities and the Self.

I personally love this style of therapy and find it helpful for myself and my clients. That is why I invited Laura Parry Laura on the podcast this month. Laura is a licensed clinical social worker practicing since 2009, and clinical director of Roots & Branches Wellness. Laura founded Roots & Branches because she wants to help people practice self-compassion and understand that there is no shame in whatever you are struggling with. She seeks to help others find their voice and feel empowered to make changes in their lives by understanding the past. Laura is passionate about helping expecting parents understand mental health during the pregnancy and postpartum phases of their lives and has made this a core pillar of our practice.

Today’s episode dives into the concepts of IFS as well as another type of treatment Laura uses with trauma called Lifespan Integration. We dive into the complexities of motherhood, parenting and birth and the importance of seeking help during this transitional time, especially if there is a birth trauma. And of course we include the importance of mind-body connection to our healing process.

It was an honor to learn from Laura and we hope that this knowledge aids you on your journey towards self-understanding and healing, no matter where you are on your path. .

Nurturing Resilience
Self Directed Neuroplasticity w/ Michal Tolk

In this podcast episode, we delve into the healing power of somatic experiencing, self-directed neuroplasticity and unconditional love.

We start out by explore somatic experiencing, a gentle, body-based approach to healing trauma. This method promotes the idea that our bodies have a natural ability to release stuck energy when provided with a safe and nurturing environment.

We also discuss self-directed neuroplasticity, a process that allows us to intentionally change our brain pathways. This approach, advocated by experts like Melissa Tires, uses a four-step framework to change how our brain is wired and, consequently, how we respond and behave. The steps include creating safety and positive regard, activating and interrupting our triggers, associating with new patterns, and reinforcing these new pathways.

In closing we end up sharing vulnerably as we discuss the process of differentiation from our parents—the act of setting boundaries and forging our unique path. We reassure listeners that differentiation is a normal and necessary part of growth, and it's possible to love ourselves and others throughout the process.

The episode highlights personal stories of healing and self-discovery, illustrating the non-linear and unique nature of everyone's healing journey. Whether it's through spiritual re-evaluation, lifestyle changes, or professional transitions, we learn that moving out of a threat-response state allows us to hold all perspectives. My overall take away from this episode is that the practice of healing and growth is, at its heart, a practice of unconditional love.

Fertility Awareness Method w/ Chloe Skerlak
In this insightful episode of our podcast, we are joined by Chloe Skerlak, a Full Spectrum Fertility Awareness Educator and Holistic Reproductive Health Practitioner. Chloe is deeply passionate about the menstrual cycle and believes in the importance of body literacy for everyone at every age. With 12 years of personal cycle charting experience and 6 years of teaching fertility awareness, Chloe offers a wealth of knowledge to our listeners. During the show, Chloe explains the fertility awareness method, which involves paying attention to daily body changes such as basal body temperature, fluids, and the position of the uterus. She provides valuable insights into why one should invest in a fertility awareness educator and how she herself started using this method for birth control but ended up staying for the body literacy. Chloe emphasizes that fertility is not just about having a baby, but about being connected to your body from your first period to your last, and empowering yourself with education. We delve into the importance of tracking temperatures in order to confirm ovulation and learn about thyroid health and metabolism and that ovulation cannot be predicted, only confirmed, by explaining the difference between ovulation and being fertile. Our guest also talks about the advantages of body literacy, such as gaining control over your body and maintaining its openness to creativity. She stresses the necessity for us to educate ourselves about birth control, ovulation, and fertility in order to make informed decisions. Nurturing Resilience
From Shame to Serenity w/ Melissa Armstrong
Serenity - a state of being calm, peaceful, and untroubled. This was the theme when I sat down with Melissa Armstrong to discuss her journey from shame to sobriety. Melissa's story is one of struggle, resilience, and ultimately learning how to “let go”. Melissa and I met during our Integral Facilitation program in 2019 and it was an honor to have her on the podcast to share her story. Melissa's journey to recovery began when she realized she needed to quit drinking. She described recovery as "thawing out" and acknowledges that her feelings were her teacher that guided her to this place of self-discovery. She shared her story of being a functional alcoholic and how the shame associated with it was the catalyst for her to make significant changes in her life. Melissa's path to sobriety involved attending AA meetings, meeting others on the same path, reading books, and meditation. A significant part of Melissa's recovery process has been sharing her story with others and bringing shame to the surface to transform it. Her journey has taught her to “hate herself less and like herself more”, and she has learned how to be a friend to herself. We go in depth into: - shame, seeing it as something that serves a function in groups to maintain norms, but acknowledging that it can turn toxic, cause us pain, and limit our individual freedom. - Addiction as a strategy of the body to survive and to regulate the nervous system. She expressed how addiction helps us shift states, and when you take that away, suddenly we have to feel everything and see life as it is. - The importance of personal responsibility in the recovery process. - Learning to love all parts of ourself and not about getting rid of them. Rather we want to be learning from them without letting them take over. - Grief and learning to openly expressing our grief. She believes we did not get an emotional curriculum growing up and that part of recovery is growing up. We close with talking about Melissa’s Zen practice and how that helps continue to guide her to be in the present moment, whatever the experience. In conclusion, Melissa's story is one of hope and the belief that recovery is possible. Her story reminds us that we are all doing our best, and if it doesn't change today, it can be a possibility tomorrow. Work and follow Melissa: https://www.strongarm.ca/ and Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/strongarm.ca/ Work and follow Lesha: https://www.leshanelson.com/ and Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lesha__nelson/

Reconnecting: Updates, Feelings + Forecasting
Hello, podcast fans! I know it's been a while, and to be honest, I was debating whether this podcast would continue. Every time I tuned in, I would hear "yes," but my capacity to produce a show was limited. I have learned over the years never to push and produce from an empty tank. So, I waited, paused, and held the vision for future production when the time was right. Yesterday and today, it became evident that (with a much fuller cup), it was time to continue. What emerged today was a little update on my life, why my capacity was limited, and the future of this podcast. I share about my trip to Peru and the chasm of grief that emerged. I dive into the importance of feeling our feelings and how this actually leads to more clarity around our dharma. The two episodes mentioned today: Kate White https://open.spotify.com/episode/04Tx79jOoZj7pHPtZtBuM2?si=a178d358238d49f7 and my first-ever episode on resilience: https://open.spotify.com/episode/4JGFCvvAUVSstwEpfAz7ji?si=1f37cff9f24e451d In the upcoming episodes, we will be exploring a variety of topics that I believe will resonate with many of you. Preeclampsia + Induction Prevention w/ Morley Robbins

In this episode we are welcoming back Morley Robbins, creator of The Root Cause Protocol and author of Cure Your Fatigue. Morley is a pioneer in understanding the role of minerals in the body and how they play a role in pregnancy and postpartum.

This is a continuation of our previous episode about better understanding oxidative stress. If you haven’t listened to “you’re not anemic” be sure to check that out: https://open.spotify.com/episode/2Dvntpbd6dNEoIOfrdqqlM?si=5ae3cc5644a0400a

Today we discuss:

  • Hypertension (preeclampsia) and it’s relationship to inductions and oxidative stress
  • Hypertension and its relationship with the spleen, the innate wisdom of the spleen and immune systems and it's development in utero and postpartum
  • The relationship of oxytocin, enzymes, and copper depletion (hello breastfeeding)
  • How most conventional prenatal recommendations lead to mineral dysregulation in modern moms, impacting their ability to carry the baby to term successfully.
  • Why the typical iron range from 8.5 to 9.5 is NOT alarming in pregnancy and these numbers may lead to restrictions on home or birthing center births. However, Mother Nature herself actually intends for hemoglobin levels to be lower than 10, as supported by extensive research.
  • And much more!

If you are pregnant, postpartum, thinking of becoming pregnant or know someone who is, this episode is for you!

You're NOT Anemic Part 1 w/ Morley Robbins

In this episode, we are joined by Morley Robbins, creator of The Root Cause Protocol and author of Cure Your Fatigue. Morley is a pioneer in understanding the role of minerals like magnesium, copper, and iron in the body.

Morley has helped thousands of people find healing through a greater understanding of these important minerals, and in this episode, we explore how we can best support our physiology through this understanding.

We discuss the misconceptions surrounding iron, copper, Vitamin D, and anemia, and how the Root Cause Protocol can help address the true underlying causes of fatigue.

Morley explains how copper is wrongly considered toxic, and how copper actually creates energy, catalyzes enzymes, combats "enemies", and controls iron. When copper is not bioavailable, iron becomes dysregulated, and many of the symptoms people experience are actually caused by iron, not copper.

In addition to learning about the role of copper and iron in the body we address:

  • The innate wisdom of our body and the importance of bioavailable copper in maintaining our health
  • What is bioavailable copper (ceriloplasm) and it’s role in the body
  • How our bodies store iron and why blood tests can’t accurately measure your iron
  • How copper and iron move from mother to baby during pregnancy
  • The impact of mineral deficiencies in the postpartum period
  • The role of the enzyme PAM (run by copper) which can lead to gestational diabetes and insulin problems
  • Why cholesterol and fats are good for us
  • Healthy hemoglobin levels in pregnancy and not pregnancy

Morley Robbins became a Wellness Coach in 2009 and has since become a self-taught mineral expert. He has devised a unique blood test to reveal mineral dynamics and has performed over 5,500 consultations with clients in 45 countries. She is trained in somatic therapies, prenatal and perinatal health, lactation, brain development, infant mental health, and has specialized in parent-baby dyad care using somatic prevention and trauma healing approaches for over 20 years.

She is a registered biodynamic craniosacral therapist and a somatic experiencing practitioner. Her work combines somatic therapy, birth preparation, trauma prevention resolution, and neuro-developmental support to provide families, babies, and small children with the best possible start.

Kate runs a private practice and offers seminars and trainings as the founder and director of the Center for Pre and Perinatal Programs. In 2018, she also founded the online school Prenatal and Perinatal Healing, where she focuses on skills training in prenatal and perinatal somatic therapies for professionals.

In this episode, we discuss somatics, pre and perinatal somatic trauma resolution and how to understand birth and postpartum from the baby's experience. We also dive into our own birth experiences and how they can create a ripple effect into our daily lives, as well as introducing the concept of double binds.

Kate shares that pre and perinatal work is about bringing people into consciousness, pausing, slowing down, and feeling the present. When we are present in our bodies, the things that were once triggering and activating can become integrated and can become a gift or an asset in our adaptation to life. Through pre and perinatal somatic healing, we can access our true nature and become more empowered in our lives, making conscious choices.

I believe pre and perinatal somatic healing is cutting-edge work, but most people are not aware that this work exists. I also believe this work is necessary because birth trauma is an epidemic in the United States. When we can start to address our earliest memories and create a sacred space for mother’s to give birth, this world will change. To me this is the foundation and one way to start to change the broken birthing system in the United Stats. Which is why I am so happy to share my teacher with you.

The Journey of Anxious to Secure w/ Diana Eskander
Moving from anxiously attached tendencies to more secure tendencies is not an easy path. It takes awareness, lots of self compassion, and devotion. My still evolving journey to find security within myself has changed me in ways I am unable to fully put into words. Which is why I invited Diana on my podcast today. Diana Eskander, Expert Love Coach and Founder of The School of Love™, has helped thousands of women around the world meet their matches and access deeper layers of love in their existing relationships. She’s been named Top 2 Love Coach by Yahoo, selected as a TEDx speaker and featured on Global TV, making her the reference for women who crave a different approach to love - one that gets them out of their heads, and into their hearts. In our conversation Diana shares her personal transition from anxious attachment tendencies to a secure relationship with herself, her partner, and her business as a prominent love coach. We tease out what is secure for each of us and explore how having a secure attachment affects our perspective of the world and universe. In her journey to find "home, adventure and unconditional love" from a partner she faced the difficult questions of how can I create the feeling of home within me, how am I not showing up for myself, how am I not supporting myself, how am I creating my own attention for me, and how can I give myself unconditional love? There were so many gems in this conversation including: 🌸How to more deeply trust the universe is just asking me to make a clear declaration of what I am ready for right now. 🌸Learning to sit with detachment so that we aren't blocking ourselves from out desires 🌸Projecting your anxious tendencies to other places besides your romantic relationships (business, money, children) 🌸How to recognize what your own anxiety feels like in the body 🌸Why self reflection is where we have the most power to create change 🌸Shifting from performing to receive love/ be loved to being open to receive the love you desire 🌸The importance of spaciousness She shares openly about how she parents her 2 children to foster secure attachment within them and the invitation to go deeper within herself to heal her own inner child wounding. A mind blowing moment for me was recognizing as a society we reward the quiet, contained child. We assume they don't have needs, or needs are met because they are quiet. But in reality they could be detached, in freeze, and/ or realizing they have learned they must take care of my their own needs. Last but not least, Diana tests my own tendencies through a fun "game" where you guys get to hear my deeper shadows about love and trust (yikes!) with an opportunity for you to do the same (this is a questionnaire you don't want to miss!) This is obviously a packed episode you don't want to miss! Books mentioned in today's podcast: Radical Forgiveness book How to work with Diana: https://www.instagram.com/dianaeskander_/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/fearlesslovewithdiana https://dianaeskander.com/ How to work with Lesha: https://www.instagram.com/lesha__nelson/ https://leshanelson.com

Attachment Theory 101
Welcome today’s episode where I introduce and explore Attachment Theory. Relationships are challenging, but understanding Attachment Theory and where you sit on the attachment continuum can make them easier to navigate. By understanding our own attachment style and the attachment styles of those around us, we can better understand our own emotional needs and those of our loved ones. This can help us communicate more effectively, build stronger emotional connections, and navigate conflicts more easily. I know for me when I started to understand my own attachment style tendencies ALL of my relationships changed for the better. It allowed me to move to more secure attachment and become more compassionate towards others behaviors and their own styles. Attachment Theory was first introduced in the 1950s by John Bowlby, a British psychologist. It is a theory that explains how our early relationships with our primary caregivers shape our emotional and social development throughout our lives. A secure attachment style, for example, is associated with better emotional regulation, higher self-esteem, and more satisfying relationships. In this podcast, we will dive deeper into Attachment Theory and its different attachment styles. We will also discuss how it applies to different areas of our lives, such as our romantic relationships, friendships, and our relationships with our children. Understanding this can help you navigate the complexities of parenthood and how to raise more securely attached children. Attachment Theory can be a powerful tool in improving our relationships with others, as well as our relationship with ourselves. Whether you are a parent, a partner, or simply someone interested in improving your relationships with others, Attachment Theory is a valuable framework to explore. Thank you for joining me today on this introduction to Attachment Theory, and I look forward to exploring this topic further in future episodes.

Freebirth + the Medicine Walk w/ Cheleste Deveraux
The moment you meet Cheleste you feel seen. She has a way of holing space for you, that no matter where you are in your journey, you know you are not alone on your path. A seasoned "traditional" midwife, now a free birth facilitator, butcher, mountain mama, and tallow maker, it is an honor to be her friend. In today's episode she shares her story of personal transition from midwife, through conscious conception, to free birthing her own baby alone with the father of her child in her greenhouse. Even if you are not in the pregnancy world, you don't want to miss our conversation. Cheleste did not plan on free birthing, but was moved and guided as she walked the medicine path of pregnancy. Rather than scans and appointments she chose to work with me healing her trauma, womb and ancestral healing, healing relationships, chiropractic and pelvic floor PT, and a lot of time alone in nature to connect with her own intuition. We dive into some controversial topics such as: The drama triangle within the midwifery practice (collectively projecting victimhood onto women birthing) and moving toward the empowerment triangle (women realize their own power in the birth space). How this world would change if every woman recognized just how powerful she is. Nutritional support during pregnancy and why veganism can't support a healthy pregnancy or postpartum. It is important to name if you can't or choose not to free birth we are not saying you did not do the work well enough or you are doing it wrong. Our medicine walks are not all the same and differing birth experiences might be the catalyst you need to create healing in your life. This episode is an opportunity to ask yourself (pregnant or not) are the choices I am making putting me in aligned action with what I want? It's a space to be curious about what is aligned action to you. It's a space to be curious about why you are attached to the things you think you cannot shift or change. We have a lot of fun in the episode and I can't wait for you to take a listen! Topics and links discussed in today's episode: Weston Price Book: https://www.amazon.com/Nutrition-Physical-Degeneration-Weston-Price/dp/0916764206/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=weston+price+book&qid=1684185678&sprefix=weston+price+%2Caps%2C125&sr=8-1 Kate Kavanagh Episode: https://open.spotify.com/episode/41YNuYrfcrdnSrj3hROnrl?si=933a91b0bab34788 Research: Olsen & Clausen 2023: https://www.cochranelibrary.com/cdsr/doi/10.1002/14651858.CD000352.pub3/abstract Connect with Cheleste: https://www.instagram.com/tallow_for_the_people/ and https://www.instagram.com/mysticalmatriarch/ Connect with me: https://www.instagram.com/lesha__nelson/ www.leshanelson.com

Healing Through Embodiment with Cami Talbot
How do we live in connection with self while living in a disconnected world? That is is what Cami likes to explore and share on my podcast today. Cami Talbot is a professional freelance Makeup Artist and Writer. With over 14 years in the cosmetic industry working with models, athletes, celebrities, and actors she has had the unique opportunity of witnessing the beauty/fitness/film/wellness industry from a different perspective than most. In todays episode she shares some intimate interactions within her career, her own studies of the beauty industry and their marketing tactics, and how she found healing through embodiment; that all the answers she ever wanted were found from the very thing she was disconnecting from, her body. She brings a beautiful light to the humanness and inner critic that lives within us all- including those we idolize. Cami shares of a journey from an eating disorder that meant eating 500 calories a day to choosing to connect to herself and her body. What makes her story so unique is working as a makeup artist with movie stars, gold medalist, and runway models, she realized they have the same thoughts and issues as all of us. There is a deep collective wound around looks and "enoughness" for many women. Often we project ourselves onto wanting to be like them and look like them, but they are just like us with the same desires of perfection and "enoughness". As women, we have to address the underlying issues of not enough regardless of who you are and present to the world. To Cami, there is no end goal or end game so embodiment is about "getting out of the game". Embodiment is a personal stepping into where you know you are enough and choosing to feel the pleasure in your body. How to connect:   General inquires @camianntalbot Keep up with her new book launch @enigma.ofher Her portfolio and more www.camianntalbot.com Topics and podcasts mentioned in today's show: Life without Ed Burnout The Beauty Myth Interception episode: https://open.spotify.com/episode/6mUTpNQ0DH2HnqUPtjvHof?si=e67721147f67464d Women, weight + conditioning episode: https://open.spotify.com/episode/3SqgoihnfqZf1sOlkvagI4?si=5adfbfa863154461 If you love today's episode please consider writing a review.
